Josh & Savannah are hopeful adoptive parents from Utah waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Hello Thank you so much for taking the time to read our letter. Here is a chance for you to get to know a little about us, but first we would like to say that we have nothing but the deepest respect, love, and appreciation for you because you are considering adoption. Know that there is a special place in our hearts for you, and know that you are in our prayers daily. Bravery is an attribute that is in short supply, and you dear friend have an amazing amount of courage, and we commend you for that. We hope for only the best for you on this journey, may you find the peace for you and your baby that you are looking for.
About Josh My top 5 favorite things are:
1. Hunting - I have 2 very important jobs that I do for my family; keeping us warm and well fed in the winter. I take these jobs very seriously, but mostly because they are a lot of fun. I love to hunt. Some of my first memories as a child are hunting with my dad and I can't wait to give our child these same memories.

2. Camping - I try to spend every waking moment in the outdoors. For years I had a job that kept me camping all summer long and I still like to go every chance we get. I like the chance to escape from the stress of everyday life and just be able to relax in the outdoors for a while.

3. Cowboyin' - Since I grew up on a ranch, I spent a lot of time on horseback and some people think I am crazy, but I still ride and chase cows any chance I get. It's another chance to be outdoors and it brings back more memories from my childhood. It's something else that I can't wait to teach our kids: how to ride, rope, and love animals and the outdoors like I do.

4. Cooking - I know it doesn't sound very macho, but I am quite comfortable in an apron. I like spending time in the kitchen cooking. Mostly in the winter when it's cold outside to do anything. I like to try to create dishes half as tasty as Savannah's desserts. My favorite thing to cook is Rice Stuffed Cornish Game Hens and I have hosted two Thanksgiving dinners for our families.

5. Reading - I enjoy a good book now and then. In fact lately, I have been reading the Twilight Series and I couldn't put them down until I had finished the last book. I even finished reading them before Savannah. I also enjoy historical books about the west and of course fictional westerns. My favorite authors include: Terry C. Johnston, Stephenie Meyer, and Louis Lamour.

About Savannah (from Josh)
There is a reason I wake up and drag myself to work every morning. It's the beautiful brown haired angel laying in bed next to me, pressing snooze on the alarm clock and reminding me to get up and that I need to go to work. I love her so much. I can't even comprehend it. She says that I am her half that makes her whole. She is my sun and moon and stars. I want so badly to give her that family that we want. She will be such a good mother. So patient and kind; I know this because I have tested her.
She says that I was persistent when we were dating and my persistence paid off. I knew from the moment that I met her, that I had to have her forever. I would not take no for an answer. And I didn't because I think I proposed 4 or 5 times. She never said no, she just said we needed to wait. She amazes me still. I am so lucky to have her. I can't wait for our family to grow. She will the most perfect mother ever.
About Savannah My top 5 favorite things are:
1. Reading - I love romance books. My favorite authors are Marcia Lynn McClure, Jeannie Hansen, Stephenie Meyers, Anita Stansfield, Betsy Brannon Green, actually the list goes on for quite a while...

2. Taking Pictures and Scrap booking - If I'm not reading, it's because I am scrap booking. I am always taking pictures and then trying to preserve the memories that go with them.

3. Cooking - I didn't learn to like cooking until after I was married. My mom tried her hardest to teach me, but I just didn't seem to grasp how important it would be when I grew up. I love trying new things and whenever we have to take something to a family dinner I try to have the fanciest thing there. Each year I host a Halloween dinner for our family and it is where I am the most creative!

4. Being with Josh - If I could do anything I want it would be to just be with Josh. He makes me smile and laugh and I can't imagine my life without him. Our favorite thing to do together is cuddle on the couch and watch a good movie.

5. Fishing & Camping - We both love being outdoors. I love escaping the cares of the world and going to the mountains. And when I say escape I mean it; we camp old-style in a tent.

About Josh (from Savannah)
I love Josh so much! He is my other half that makes me complete. I know he will be such a great dad someday. He is always talking about the many things he wants to do with our kids some day like take them hunting, watching them play sports, and taking our daughter out on her first date.
Josh takes such good care of me; I'm kind of spoiled. When we go fishing he baits my hook and casts my line out. Then I hold the pole until a fish bites. I reel in the catch and then he unhooks the fish and starts the whole process over again. And yet I get to claim that "I caught the fish" and I usually "out fish" him. He says that when we have children he won't even take his pole because he figures he will spend all his time doing the same process for our kids.
He is a great storyteller and loves to goof around. But he is also a hard worker. He is always proud to say that he keeps us "warm and well fed" because of the meat he puts in the freezer and the wood pile he keeps outside.
About Us Even though we attended different High Schools, you could call us high school sweethearts. For Josh it was love at first sight. For Savannah it took a little longer, but Josh was persistent. There was never one great romantic moment where we decided to get married; we just knew that we belonged together. After dating for 17 months we were married in the Jordan River Temple on February 9, 2001. Being sealed together for time and all eternity was the best day of our lives.
A few years into our marriage we decided that we were through preventing our family from growing and we would let nature take its course. After another 2 years we realized that we needed help. After seeking medical advice and taking some tests we realized that a pregnancy was not meant to be.
Most people are devastated by this news, but we had already decided to adopt before the last and final test result came back. Josh was driving home from work one night and heard a Hallmark Card ad on the radio. It talked about finding cards for other occasions and then a lady talked about finding the right card for her sister who had just adopted a child. Josh knew at that moment that we needed to expand our family through adoption. Savannah also knew that there was a child out there who needed to be in our family and that we needed to do everything we could to find them.
We are very active in our local FSA (Families Supporting Adoption) group. We think that adoption is a wonderful thing and we want to spread the word about what a spiritual thing it is.
We believe strongly in open adoption. Savannah is always taking pictures and we would love to share them with you. Savannah is also an avid blogger and hopes to make that a steady source to keep you updated on our child's life through pictures and stories.
We plan to tell our child that there are many kinds of angels. And one of the most rare and precious is the kind that came here willilng to give life to people like them, who were meant to be born to people like us, who were not physically capable of having children of their own. We will tell our child that the angel who gave life to them was among the most noble and beautiful of her kind, and that she sacrificed and suffered a great deal so that we could be a family.
Thank you so much for taking the time to learn more about us. Please know that we already love you and that we pray for you daily.
