James & Deborah are hopeful adoptive parents from Virginia waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Dear Birth mother,
Hello, our names are James and Debbie. Things don’t always work out the way we planned but if we’ve learned anything in this life, it’s that things happen for a reason. Even though we were unable to conceive a child of our own, life led us to the miracle of adoption. It was through adoption that we were blessed with our wonderful son, Ryan and we know that someday it will lead us to another precious child. Ryan gets so excited when he talks about having a baby sister. He loves playing on the swing set in our backyard, swimming and reading books. He’s very loving and very funny, and we know he’ll make a great big brother.

James and I have been happily married since April 1999. I’d say we’re an example of opposites attracting. And although our tastes in music and TV shows sometimes differ, deep down we share the same values, morals, love of country and family. Together we enjoy going to ball games, museums, and movies. Neighborhood kids often stop by to play with Ryan or see Bo and Suzie, the sweetest dogs in the whole world! We live on a cul-de-sac in a home with a big fenced in backyard in a beautiful suburban neighborhood that has wonderful schools and parks nearby.
This November will make a total of 14 years that James has honorably served in the United States Marine Corps. He now works for the Federal Government as a Research Analyst. He loves exploring the outdoors whether it’s fishing, golfing, camping or just going to the park. James is a wonderful man who can always make Ryan and I smile.

I proudly served 6 years in the Marine Corps and have been an analyst for the Federal Government for the past 10 years. My hobbies include reading, cooking, crafting, and gardening. I love spending time making our house into a home and like James, I also enjoy the outdoors. Since I work full time I will not be a stay-at-home mother. Once old enough our baby will be cared for while we're working at the wonderful day care school that Ryan attends. I've never seen a more caring and attentive group of teachers!
Family is important to us and both of our families have been very supportive of our decision to adopt. James’ family lives mostly in Texas while mine is close by. We get together as often as possible for dinner or the holidays. Both of our families eagerly await our newest member with open arms and open hearts!

We are firm believers that our friends are an extension of our family. Many weekends are spent at our good friends (and they happen to be our neighbors!) house. We always have so much fun together whether it's hanging out in their pool, on a picnic at the lake or having some friendly competition playing cards, video games, coloring Easter eggs or Halloween pumpkin carving!
James and I believe that what’s meant to be will always find a way. We believe we were meant to have another child to care for and love. And the person who can make our dream come true may be you. We admire your strength and courage in choosing adoption. It is through your incredibly selfless and loving act that the gift of life and family can be given. It is through wonderful people like yourself and the miracle of adoption that we look forward to doubling this incredible journey that is parenthood. Wishing on a star,

James & Debbie
