Jared & Jamie are hopeful adoptive parents from Louisiana waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Dear Birthparent(s) We are unable to comprehend the feelings and emotions that you might be going through at this moment but we would like to share with you our feelings. We have been married for 12 years and have long desired to be parents. We have been unable to have children of our own due to health reasons Jamie had as a child. We are grateful that those health reasons are no longer a major factor in her life now. Though we have not been able to have children of our own we have been extremely blessed to have many wonderful nieces and nephews, along with some “honorary” nieces and nephews to love and cherish. We always enjoy every opportunity we have to make memories with them. Our time spent with them varies between playing on the floor with the toddlers and babies and cheering on the older kids at their many different activities. We have been to more basketball, baseball, and football games that we lost count many years ago! There are not enough words we could use to describe the love, joy and pride that we have for each of them. We are excited about becoming parents through adoption.
About Jared: I was born in a major city in the south. I am the youngest of four children. I have an older sister and two older brothers. I grew up in the town in which I currently live and enjoy being close to my family. After finishing my 7th grade year, we moved to the town were my Mom owned a beauty salon. I graduated from High School in 1996. While I was in High School, I enjoyed playing sports and was a part of the school’s football team. I enjoyed attending the different high school activities and was a part of the FBLA committee. I am currently attending college and plan on graduating in May 2009. I am a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I enjoy working in the yard and building things. I enjoy carpentry work and tinkering with electronics. I love the outdoors and playing sports or camping.

About Jamie: I was born in a rural city in the south. I am the youngest of 3 children. I have an older sister and brother. The majority of my youth was spent in a small town in northern Louisiana. I graduated from High School in 1996 where I was active in many different clubs and organizations. I have attended a few years of college and just recently enrolled in online courses to complete my degree. I’m a convert of 12 years to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In my down time I enjoy reading books, watching a good movie, playing games on the computer and spending time with family. When my creative juices are flowing I enjoy working on our family scrapbook.

About us: Jamie and I first meet in junior high while I was playing football and she was a cheerleader. I never had a chance because she didn't’t even like football players! Luckily for me she grew out of that phase as she got older! Jamie moved after our freshman year but eventually moved back for our senior year. We became closer friends after being placed in several group assignments in our English class. We began dating halfway through our senior year after we realized we had so much in common. We have been inseparable every since. After graduation, we began working and going to school. It was then that we decided to get married in February of 1997. We moved to Texas for work and shortly after moving into our first apartment our truck was broken into. Everything we had in the truck was stolen besides our basket full of dirty laundry. We didn't’t have much money at the time and what little we did have went to fixing the window in the truck. It was at this time that Jamie and I knew we would be all right, we are able to survive this small tragedy and it helped strengthen our relationship. After living in Texas for a couple of years we decided to move back to Louisiana to be closer to family.
Our family: Our families are very important to both of us. We enjoy spending as much time with them as we can. When we do get together we tend to do a lot of activities and games. We live close to a lake and when the opportunity arises we try to go out on the boat when we can. Every year we all get together and the few family members who live out of town rents cabins out at the lake and we hang out all week long. This has become a wonderful yearly tradition that we all enjoy. Jared and I have also had the opportunity to go on a few joint family vacations over the years. The last family vacation was to Gatlinburg , TN where we rented a cabin and went to a lot of different shows and parks. We had a blast hanging out all week and we are really looking forward to the next adventure we head out on. We love spending our free time with family as much as we can. We generally eat with Jared’s family on Sunday after church, and we usually go to his sister’s house sometime during the week for dinner. We also enjoy getting together with our friends and having dinner and playing games. Jared and I feel extremely grateful because we are blessed with such wonderful and supportive family and friends.

Fun times: When Jared and I do travel we have a game that we enjoy playing. The object of the game is to find letters in the alphabet on the different billboards and the first to make it through wins. I seem to always win and Jared likes to say that I win because I have the advantage of contacts. We are both big college football fans and when we get the chance, we enjoy getting together with our family to watch the games. Jared likes to camp but he has unable to convince me that sleeping in a tent on the hard ground is fun.
Our dreams: We look forward to being accepted as parents to one of God’s precious children. We know the importance of teaching children values and principles with love and patience. We plan on providing a home where trust and support are backed with love. We know the importance of spending time together as a family and plan to instill this in our home. We look forward to loving, teaching, helping develop talents and interests and the mere joy of having a child in our home. We appreciate the selfless act that you as a mother are sharing with your child. We look forward to the day that we can share with them the love that you have shared with us. We are excited to have the chance in teaching them about this noble act that has brought them to us. Our families are very excited for us and are looking forward to the day that we can tell them that we have been accepted as parents and that they will be grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins once again. We want you to know that your decision to choose us as parents to your child would be a great honor and we will do all things possible to ensure that they grow up in a loving nurturing environment. We hope that you have had the chance to feel our love and concern for you. Please know that we will continue to pray for you and the decision that you are making. Always know that you are in our hearts for giving us the chance to become parents. May God bless you for this most noble act and that your soul may be comforted.

With love,

Jared and Jamie
