Myron & Ann are hopeful adoptive parents from North Carolina waiting to adopt a baby.
If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Dear Birthmother...
Hi! We are Myron and Ann, and we believe we were meant to become parents through the blessing of adoption. We know you are considering the loving choice of adoption because you want the very best for your baby. Thank you for reading this letter to learn more about who we are and what we value. We want to welcome you into our lives!
Who We Are...
We love being married to one another and look forward to celebrating our fifth wedding anniversary soon. We met on a blind date seven years ago and have been together ever since. We see ourselves as a team and base our relationship on unconditional love, open communication, and respect for each other.
It is our dream to become parents! We have much to offer a child—including a nurturing environment, a peaceful and comfortable home, and two parents who are eager to devote their lives to raising a child.
We want to give our child every opportunity to succeed in school and life. We will encourage our child's interests, learning, and gifts every day. What matters most to us is that our child is happy and knows how much he or she is loved by you and by us.
Our Interests, Careers, and Family
We enjoy the time we spend together at Carolina Beach each year, and look forward to seeing our child splash in the waves of the ocean and build huge sandcastles with our nieces! Our child will have a great time going to the playground and taking walks in our neighborhood with our sweet dog, Poonkie, and us. We love going to musicals and the theater, and can’t wait to see our child’s face light up as he or she watches a performance of The Nutcracker Ballet at our local theater company during the Christmas season. Since we are sports fans, we will have so much fun when we join our child in cheering for the Tar Heels at a college basketball game!
OUR CAREERS...
Our careers are important to us, but parenthood is much more important! Myron is a project manager and Ann is an education professor. Thanks to our adaptable work schedules, we will be able to give our child the time, attention, and energy he or she deserves. Ann is fortunate to have the summer months off and looks forward to taking additional time away from work during the school year to dedicate herself to raising our child. Since his work schedule is flexible, Myron will be there to volunteer at our child’s school, help our child with homework, and go to all of our child’s school performances and ball games!
OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS...
Our child would be welcomed into the generous, loving, and supportive circle of family and friends who are in our lives. Most of our family and friends already have children, and they are so excited about our becoming parents! They are eager to include our child in our Harrington family reunions where we share our favorite homemade foods and lots of stories, our spring and summer visits to New York to celebrate family birthdays, and our family get-togethers at our house for Christmas where we make gingerbread cookies and hang our stockings together to prepare for Santa’s visit.
About One Another...
WHAT ANN SAYS ABOUT MYRON...
Myron can’t wait to be a dad! He is a kind, responsible, and patient man who treasures the time he spends with our friends and family. He is passionate about sports--and can’t wait to teach our child how to play basketball, baseball, or soccer. I love watching him play on the playground with our nieces and friends’ children—he has as much fun as they do! Our niece Claire says that “Uncle Myron is the best uncle in the whole entire world.” I agree, and think that he will also be the best daddy in the whole entire world!
WHAT MYRON SAYS ABOUT ANN...
Ann is going to be an amazing mom! She has learned so much about what it takes to be a great mom from being a teacher. She has hundreds of children’s books in our home—and can’t wait to read and write stories with our child. In addition to teaching at the university, she works in an elementary school where most of the children speak both English and Spanish. She would so enjoy helping our child learn to speak multiple languages. She loves music and has played the piano since she was a little girl. She would treasure teaching our child how to play the piano and looks forward to hearing our child play "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" for the first time! She is a wonderful woman who has so much to offer a child.
