Myron & Ann are hopeful adoptive parents from North Carolina waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Dear Birthmother... We understand that you have a lot to think about right now, and we thank you for reading our profile. We know that you are considering adoption because you want the very best for your baby. We honor and respect you tremendously for the love that you have for your child. We hope that you will be able to learn about who we are and what we value through reading our website. Families are created through love, and we have a lot of love to give a child and you. We want to welcome you into our lives!

Who We Are... We love being married to each another and will be celebrating our fifth wedding anniversary soon. We met on a blind date seven years ago and have been together ever since. We see ourselves as a team and base our relationship on unconditional love, open communication, and respect for each other.

It is our dream to become parents! We were not able to have a child ourselves, but believe in our hearts that we were meant to become parents through the blessing of adoption.

We have much to offer a child—including a nurturing and stable environment, a peaceful and comfortable home, and two parents who are eager to devote their lives to raising a child. We live in a safe and beautiful neighborhood filled with families, children, and playgrounds. Our child will attend excellent schools that are very close to where we live.

Myron can’t wait to be a dad! He is a kind-hearted, patient, and generous man who treasures the time he spends with our friends and family. He is passionate about sports--and can’t wait to teach our child how to play basketball, baseball, or soccer. He loves playing on the playground with our nieces and friends’ children. As a former Boy Scout, he hopes one day to be a leader or volunteer in our child’s Boy or Girl Scout troop. Our niece Claire says, “Uncle Myron is the best uncle in the whole entire world.” He will also be the best daddy in the whole entire world!

Ann has learned so much about what it takes to be a great mom from being a teacher. She has hundreds of children’s books in our home—and can’t wait to read her favorite bedtime stories with our child. Ann teaches at a local university and also works in an elementary school where most of the children speak both English and Spanish. She will love helping our child learn to speak multiple languages. She is passionate about music and has played the piano since she was a little girl. She will treasure teaching our child how to play the piano and looks forward to hearing our child play "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" for the first time!

We want to give our child every opportunity to succeed in school and life. We will encourage our child's interests, learning, and gifts every day. What matters most to us is that our child is happy and knows how much he or she is loved by you and by us.

Our Family and Careers Our child would be welcomed into the generous, loving, and supportive circle of family and friends who are in our lives. Most of our family and friends already have children, and they all say we will be great parents! They are eager to include our child in our Harrington family reunions, our spring and summer visits to New York, and our family get-togethers at our house for Christmas. The moments we treasure the most are the ones we share with our friends and family.

We enjoy our careers, but parenthood is our priority! Myron is a project manager and Ann is an education professor and elementary school teacher. Thanks to our adaptable work schedules, we will be able to give our child the time, attention, and energy he or she deserves. Ann is fortunate to have the summer months off and looks forward to taking additional time away from work to dedicate herself to raising our child. Since his work schedule is flexible, Myron will be there to volunteer at our child’s school, help our child with homework, and go to all of our child’s school performances and ball games!
Our Interests We have many interests that we hope to share with a child! We enjoy going to concerts, plays, and ball games together. We love traveling as a family and always look forward to the time we spend at the Outer Banks or Carolina Beach each summer. When we are home, we enjoy playing board games, listening to music, reading, watching movies and sports, and taking walks around our neighborhood with our sweet dog, Poonkie. Our lifestyle is already well-suited to caring for and raising a child.
