FOREVER GRATEFUL Dear Birth parents,
Thank you for reading our profile. We can’t imagine what you are going through right now and our hearts go out to you. Please know that you are doing a courageous, selfless and loving act by considering adoption. The happiest day of our lives so far was the day we adopted our son, Jackson, almost four years ago. We are forever grateful to Jackson’s birth family. We love being parents and we are praying for the miracle of adoption again to make our family complete. We have the love and resources to provide another child with unconditional love, tons of fun and limitless opportunity. We hope that we are the family you are seeking. Regardless of what decision you make, we wish you the best of luck and love in life.

ABOUT US Mike and I met the first day of school almost 14 years ago when we were getting our masters degrees in business. It was love at first sight and we have been together ever since. We have been happily married for eight years. In our years as a couple, we have been through a lot of life experiences together, both happy and sad. By working through these experiences as a team, we made our already strong marriage even stronger. Mike and I are soul mates and really enjoy spending time together. We are partners for life.

We were devastated seven years ago when we learned we could not have biological children of our own. However, after soul searching we realized that what we really wanted was to be parents and a family and biology didn't matter at all. Adoption was the path meant for us. We were so right! We love being parents! Our son brings us so much joy and we couldn't love him more. Just thinking about Jackson as we write these words to you makes us smile from ear to ear.

During the week, Mike works as a finance executive for a high-tech company close to home. Debbie is a marketing consultant for an entertainment company, but she will take time off to be at home when we welcome a new son or daughter.

About Debbie (by Mike)
Debbie is the cornerstone of our family. She takes care of all of us. In my eyes, Debbie is the best partner and wife a man could hope for. She has been my best friend for 14 years, and I love her with all my heart. She is committed to our life together, and to our family. She has taken up activities like cooking which bring us closer together as a family. She has made friends with Jackson’s friend’s parents, which has given us new social activities, She makes sure Jack has an active lifestyle and a nurturing environment surrounded by love and support. She is the kind of mom that any child would love to call their own.

About Mike (by Debbie)
I feel like I won the lottery in the husband department, because I could not dream of a better partner for life than Mike. Mike is the most stable, smart, level-headed and strong person I know. With him by my side, I believe we can conquer anything that comes our way. He is easy to talk to as well. Whenever I am struggling with a decision or having a problem, he helps me figure out the best course of action and I always feel better after talking to him. Mike is also very, very funny. He makes up songs about our dogs that make me cry with laughter. Most importantly, Mike is a fantastic, hands-on father and Jackson adores him. It makes my heart melt when I watch Mike and Jackson do special father/ son activities together, like nature walks, star gazing, sledding, swimming and making pancakes.

About Jackson (by Debbie & Mike)
Our son Jackson is a really cool kid. Every day we look at him with amazement. We can’t believe how lucky we are because he is our son. Jackson is a happy, smart, energetic and hilarious little boy. He makes us laugh with silly expressions and his “tricky” dance moves (his words.) He is ALL BOY and enjoys playing with cars, trucks, helicopters, airplanes and construction vehicles. He loves to read as well. Jackson is very outgoing. He loves to play with other children and keeps asking when he will have a little brother or sister. Jackson will be an awesome big brother.

OUR LIFE AS A FAMILY Our home
We live in a wonderful community with lots of kids. Our neighborhood has a playground and a swimming pool and we spend most of the summer hanging out at both with our friends. We are members of the children’s museum, the aquarium and the local zoo, where we have held Jackson’s birthday party for the last two years. Our home is incredibly child friendly, with a large playroom that includes trains, trucks, a playhouse, a toy kitchen and more. All of Jackson’s friends love to come over and play. The schools in our area are top-rated in the state, as well, so our children will get amazing educations.

Family time
We love spending time together as a family. We have fun cooking together and have a tradition of very special family dinners on Fridays. It is a great way to unwind together after a hectic week. Sometimes we invite family and friends to our house for this dinner. We enjoy walks in our neighborhood with our two dogs, Otis and Lucy. Debbie and Jackson like to do arts & crafts projects together. We use glitter, stickers, paint and anything else we can find to create homemade masterpieces, as well as cards for any occasion. Jackson and Mike like to make obstacle courses in our house for Jackson to race through. In the winter, we enjoy sledding at Mike’s dad’s house which has a fun steep hill.

Doting grandparents!
We have warm and loving relationships with our parents and extended families. Debbie has always had a wonderful friendship with her brother, Chuck, which is one reason why having a sibling for Jackson is so important to us. Our parents love being grandparents. Debbie’s mother, whom Jackson calls Ya Ya, even carries around a purse with pictures of Jackson on it! Both sets of grandparents love to take Jackson on special excursions, like the dolphin show, the children’s museum and even going to watch construction. Mike’s mom, Nana, recently planned a gingerbread making party that was a big hit.

Lots of cousins!
We both (Debbie and Mike) had great childhoods growing up with our first cousins and we continue to spend a lot of time with them. Our cousins are having families of their own now, so Jackson has eight little cousins between the ages of 10 and 2, (with one more due any day,) so he has a great time whenever we get together. We celebrate all the holidays with our extended family and often go on vacations as a group. In May, we have our annual May Birthday Extravaganza in Chicago where we gather to celebrate the birthdays of Jackson, Debbie, Debbie’s dad and Debbie’s uncle with Debbie’s large extended family. Every August, we have family beach week with Mike’s extended family.

Vacations
We love to travel as a family and have enjoyed a lot of wonderful trips. We frequently visit Mike’s mother in northern California. On one of our trips, Jackson got his first bicycle and Mike had fun teaching him to ride it with training wheels. We recently returned from a vacation in Florida with Debbie’s family. We loved swimming in the ocean and collecting sea shells on the beach. However, Jackson might say his favorite part was getting to sit in the cockpit of the airplane before we took off!

OUR PROMISE TO YOU We hope and pray that fate will shine upon us again and bring us another baby who is meant to be in our family. We are so excited for that day, as we have so much love to offer and can’t wait to add to our family.

We promise that we will give your baby unconditional love, two warm extended families and all the opportunities life has to offer. Our hearts are ready to embrace, love, teach and raise another child. We are ready financially, emotionally and spiritually. We are waiting expectantly for this child, this beautiful soul, and are praying you can help us.
