Why Adoption…
After years of infertility and heartbreaking miscarriages, we were told that we could not have any more biological children. Lisa & I always wanted to raise two children ever since we married. We will love our biological son, Benji, and our son or daughter by adoption equally and honor our younger child’s birth parents and their heritage.

We hope to create a trusting relationship with a birth mother or couple who will allow us to complete our family through adoption.

Adoption is personal in our extended family. Lisa's sister is in the process of adopting a little girl from Taiwan! Her cousin also adopted two wonderful children from the USA!

Benji is 8 years old. He knows that adoption is special and children, whether adopted or biological, are equally loved. He thinks that birth parents are really cool! He takes pride in being a big cousin to his younger cousin as he is sensitive and caring to his needs. He can’t wait to share his toys and his two cats, Cali and Nala, with his baby brother or sister.

Family Time We wonder what things our younger son or daughter will enjoy doing. We will enthusiastically guide both of our children to try different things and grow into unique individuals.

Our favorite times together are vacations, especially to the Jersey shore. Each summer we vacation with my (Lisa’s) brother and his family. During our shore vacation, we ride bikes and surreys. We jump waves and build sandcastles on the beach. Then we dip in the pool, change for dinner, eat pizza and walk along the boardwalk searching for “treasures”, playing mini-golf, and then take a spin on the rides. We enjoy Disney World vacations too. We love to run from ride to ride, making ourselves absolutely silly!

We cannot wait to find out which Disney character our new son or daughter will enjoy most.

Benji enjoys skiing, riding bikes, and playing baseball. He can’t wait for the summer when he swims at camp with his friends. He really loves when we go on bike trips as a family, because we let him be the fastest rider! His favorite time is at night when we cuddle together before bedtime, read books, and watch a little TV. Recently he began playing backgammon and is thrilled when he beats us!

Relatives, Friends & Our Home Our Relatives…
There are three older cousins, who are triplet boys. They enjoy playing basketball and soccer. They also enjoy helping Benji learn to play sports and building sandcastles with Benji at the beach. It's fun to see how Benji helps his younger, four year old, cousin ride a bike, read him stories and put puzzles together. He tells us how he will help his baby brother or sister learn to do new things.

Our younger child will also have two aunts and uncles and seventeen second cousins, two of whom are also adopted. These relatives, a doting grandmother who lives fifteen minutes from us, and a set of grandparents who live in Florida will also welcome our baby into the family when we adopt.

Lisa's mom lives really close to us. She speaks about helping out when the baby comes. She enjoys play dates with Benji, going to the movies, baking brownies, reading books and going to the toy store.

My parents (Jason) live in Florida. It is always a fun to vacation with my parents who will love their new baby grandchild. Grandma Ronnie's and Grandpa Russ' house is full of things for children and will be filled with baby toys when we visit in the future. Swimming in December is always a real treat. Because I am an only child, my parents are so excited to experience life with siblings once our new baby arrives!

Our Town and Home…
We live in a suburban community with great schools, beautiful parks with great playgrounds and a pond for fishing. There is also a local zoo that the neighborhood children really like. We have made a lot of great friends and Benji enjoys having play dates in our fenced-in yard, on his swing set.

There are lots of babies being born in our area so our baby will grow up with a selection of friends.

We have a great house in a wonderful community. Our split level home is always filled with love and laughter. We have a bedroom ready and waiting for our younger child. We can't wait to put the crib together! There is a bookcase filled with wonderful children's books waiting to be read to our new baby. We recently had a basketball pole set up in our driveway for Benji to enjoy shooting hoops with family and friends. He is looking forward to teaching his brother or sister how to shoot hoops too. Our family room has a warm, cozy fireplace with comfy sofas and lots of toys and games. We will add more toys when we bring our baby home!

We really enjoy having friends over to celebrate holidays. Each Fourth of July we celebrate with a big barbecue. Our house is the perfect spot because the fireworks shoot right over our home. What a beautiful and awesome display that everyone enjoys.

As a couple & future thoughts Family Responsible Activities…
Raising children is not just about the good times. Benji comes to us for help with homework and challenges he sometimes has with friends. We will be there unconditionally through all of our children’s challenges and good times as they try to achieve their goals - whether it’s trying out for a school team, picking out friends, selecting colleges, and more.

We always have dinner as a family. Jason often picks up little surprises for Benji and me on his way home from work. Benji jumps into his arms and there are shrieks of joy around the house that “Dad’s home”! Jason is always interested in how Benji’s day was. He takes pride in seeing how hard Benji works on his homework and gets a thrill out of cheering him on during sports. I am excited to see how he will be there for both Benji and our younger son or daughter.

About Jason…
I enjoy cycling to stay strong and healthy and enter biking events to raise money for people with medical illnesses. Each fall I ride 100 miles in a special bike tour to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy. I also enjoy skiing and martial arts, having earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

I’m a successful tax and estate planning attorney in a large law firm. I have practiced for eleven years. I really enjoy what I do because I help families feel secure and protected. I get the most satisfaction knowing that I have made a difference in someone else’s life.

No matter how much I love being an attorney, nothing gives me more pleasure than being a dad and husband. I am unconditionally there for my family. I am fortunate that I work close to home and Benji’s school. Any time there is an event at the school, I am there to support my son. When my son has a baseball game during the week, I leave work early to go to his game and root for him. I am looking forward to being there for my younger child's special events. I know that being a dad is the most important job that I have.

About Lisa…
Jason tells me that he loves watching Benji and me together. He tells me that he sees a real sparkle in my eyes as Benji and I look at each other. I know I’ll have that same sparkle in my eyes with our younger child. I will cherish the special times I have with our younger child whom we adopt. I imagine reading children's stories about adoption so that he or she will grow to understand their own adoption history in loving ways.

It’s me Jason speaking…Lisa is a first grade teacher in a local public school and is well regarded by her students’ parents. When she and I meet her former students, they always tell her how much they loved her and how they thought she was their favorite teacher. I am so proud of her accomplishments.

Lisa is a very creative and artistic woman. She enjoys watercolor painting, drawing and creative writing. She hopes to publish a children’s book someday. Benji loves to paint with Lisa and she will be passionate about sharing her creative talents with our future child. She enjoys crocheting and yoga. Lisa will crochet for our future child just as she did for Benji.

Future Times…

In our hearts, we know we’ll be chosen by a loving woman or couple when it’s meant to happen. We will love our younger son or daughter with the same unconditional love we have for Benji. He or she will understand that his or her birth mother’s (or birth parents’ ) decision to create an adoption plan with us was done out of extreme love.

Childhood is a special journey. We will do our best to make sure our children enjoy this special time by being supportive and nurturing. We will listen to your hopes and dreams to make your vision come true.
