Tom & Ellen are hopeful adoptive parents from New Jersey waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Dear Birthmother, Hello. We are so thankful that you are reading about our lives. Our names are Ellen and Tom, and we are truly amazed by your selfless act of kindness by forming an adoption plan for your child. We very much admire your decision to give your child life and to place him or her with a loving adoptive family. We realize that you are about to make a very important decision in your life, and we want you to know that if we are chosen as the adoptive parents, we will provide your child with a lifetime of happiness and opportunity where every minute is filled with love. In 2006 we adopted our daughter Ava, a Gladney baby. Nothing could have prepared us for the moment when Ava’s birthmother placed her into our arms. We were so moved by her amazing, loving choice.

We have been happily married for 10 years after being introduced by Tom's sister Mary and have been inseparable ever since. Our family loves the outdoors, attending concerts, and lounging around the house watching TV with our yellow lab Maxwell. We often go biking and walking along the many nature trails near our home. In the winter we go sleigh riding, and in the summer we enjoy going to the beach which is 3 miles away.
About Us: Tom speaks about Ellen:

Ellen is the love of my life. Everyone is drawn to her dynamic personality, especially children. She has the unique ability to see the positive side of every situation. Ellen always extends a helping hand to friends and family. Ellen enjoys bringing Ava around to the library, Gymboree, the beach and local parks. She is an intuitive mother, and is raising Christopher and Ava in a manner in which they both are given every opportunity to express themselves as individuals. As a result, our home is one that is filled with love, humor and respect.

Ellen speaks about Tom:

Tom is the kind of man who is friendly and outgoing who can strike up a conversation with anyone. He is a very caring person who is devoted to his family. Tom is the first one on the floor with Ava and our nieces and nephews. Whenever Tom is around the kids, there are choruses of "Tom, Tom!!!" He loves the outdoors and goes kayaking, bicycling and swimming. He is a wonderful husband and a very supportive father to Ava and Christopher. I love him because he makes me laugh, and he always has time to give us a big hug each day! Tom works from home, so he is the dad who is home every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

About Christopher:

Christopher is a caring and responsible young man. He just graduated from college. Christopher loves being a big brother to Ava, and plays with her constantly. He likes the idea of being part of a large family and would lovingly welcome another sibling. Christopher’s interests are music and sports, especially basketball.

About Ava:

Ava is a delightful, bubbly child. She loves playing with her cousins and her little friends she has made at the library reading group. Ava adores babies, and she would love to be a big sister.
About Where We Live: We live in a family oriented neighborhood with tons of parks and children's activities. We live in a big house with a large yard. The school is at the end of the block, so we can walk your child to school each day. The beach is close by, and we love to go to the beach! We are also an hour or so train ride away from Manhattan. We often go to Broadway plays, museums, Rockefeller Center and Central Park. Another favorite place to visit is the Catskill Mountains where we go hiking and camping in the summer, and in the winter we go skiing and sleigh riding.

Our Family:

We are both fortunate to have our family close by. Ellen has 3 sisters and one brother who are all married. There are 6 nephews and 2 nieces. Ellen's parents whom everybody calls Grammie and Gramps live a few blocks away, and we see them on a daily basis. Tom is the youngest of four he has 3 sisters. Tom's mother “Nanny” is looking forward to becoming a grandmother again! There are plenty of family celebrations and big Sunday dinners after church. Holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter are especially big family occasions when our house is just brimming with family and a huge amount of love.
We would be truly blessed to have the opportunity to love and raise your child. Thank you for taking the time to consider us. We look forward to meeting you and forming a plan of photos and letters to keep you updated as your child grows.

With much love and admiration,
Tom and Ellen
