Hello, We are Debra and Tom. Thank you for taking the time to review our profile. It is such a wonderful and courageous decision to give the gift of life to a child and we truly admire and respect you for your choice. We hope through sharing our story we can give you a glimpse of who we are and the loving environment we can provide for your child.

Our prayer is that you will feel God’s presence and guiding hand as you make a plan for your child.

We met in graduate school and have been blissfully married for the last seventeen years. One thing we share is our love and appreciation of our families. We have always had in our hearts the desire to build a family. We truly believe that it is God’s desire for us to grow our family through the gift and blessing of adoption.

We are excited about the possibility of providing a nurturing environment that will allow a child to thrive in the care of committed, devoted and loving parents. We are fortunate that we can give a child love, stability, security, educational opportunities, and guidance, and would welcome your child to become a part of our loving circle of family and friends.

A LITTLE SOMETHING ABOUT DEBRA Debra is the light of my life! She has a sunny personality, the kind that lights up a room, that puts people at ease and opens the door for others to express
themselves. She is a spiritual person who has always sought the
guidance of a higher power.

There is so much I can say about her, but what I admire most is that
she carries herself with grace. She sees so much of the good in
everyone she meets. She always has a smile and people are
naturally attracted to her positive and caring nature. Family and
friends play a big role in our lives, and Debra creates a fun and
warmhearted atmosphere.

I know she will be an amazing mother. Children naturally connect
with her and she just has a nurturing way about her. Our nephews
crawl all over her, and our nieces insists on taking all of Debra’s
time when we are together. She treasures the time she spends with
the kids, and they are always excited to see her.
Debra has created a beautiful home for us, always trying to find the
right color or fabric to create a warm atmosphere or the right couch
and pillows so that we are comfortable when we are watching a
movie. But it is not just inside that she has made a beautiful home
but also outside! As the only gardener in the family our yard is
always a rainbow of color!

I am also the beneficiary of one of her other passions, cooking! Pizza
night on Friday is one of my favorites but you have to try her
spaghetti, out of this world. Her life is one of creativity that has made
our lives richer and very blessed but it has also extended to the
creation of a children’s product that she designed, created and
produced and then won a Parents Choice Award!

Her support of everything I do has always lifted me up and carried
me to new heights.

A LITTLE SOMETHING ABOUT TOM

Tom is a dream husband! His integrity, warmth, and
loving, faithful spirit are a few of the many things I love. I couldn’t
ask for a better partner in life. He is amazingly supportive and
loves providing for me. I have always felt secure in his
commitment to our family and can’t wait to share that with a
child.

Tom grew up in a very close, large family with five brothers and
sisters. He has such fond memories of all their games and family
times together. (He eats really fast and I think it was because
there were eight people at the table!) We now have 20 nieces and
nephews and they all love spending time with Uncle Tom!!
Professionally, Tom works in the finance industry. He is very
successful and I believe this is due to his value of hard work,
honesty, and a true respect for those he works with. His job
allows him quite a bit of flexibility, which enables him to balance
work and family life.

In addition to his business talents, he is also a very accomplished
violinist, playing professionally for many years all over the world.
He now enjoys donating his talents by playing regularly for our
church services. A true blessing to all!

One of my favorite things about Tom is his playful spirit. He loves
to laugh and to make me laugh (and everyone else who’s around!).
His playful nature makes him a natural with children and they
delight in spending time with him. Whether it’s baseball, football,
Candy Land, Monopoly, airplane, or Marco Polo, he’s game!! I can’t
wait to see him playing with the special child that will be in our
future.

He also loves all kinds of outdoor activities, like mountain biking
and hiking, swimming and snorkeling, playing golf and snow
skiing, and is looking forward to having a little one in the family to
teach, guide and encourage as they grow into the person that God
wants them to be.

HOME SWEET HOME We live in a family oriented neighborhood close to a big city. We love our new home that we moved into in 2007. Debra has enjoyed decorating it to make it perfect for us. We love that it is only a mile from Tom’s office and that it is large enough for a growing family. Our home is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac with lots of kids and two new babies on the way!

OUR NEIGHBORHOOD

We have become friends with several families with adopted children. There is an active neighborhood “play group” with mothers and children that Debra hopes to join right away.

We love to walk and ride our bikes to several shops and parks nearby… one of our favorites is the neighborhood ice cream shop which we love to visit after summer dinners. The neighborhood pool, golf and tennis is a short bike ride away!

FAMILIES AND FAMILY TRADITIONS

Our families and family traditions fill our holidays with joy! Our favorite time of year is Thanksgiving and it is an annual tradition to host Thanksgiving dinner at our home for both of our families. Debra spends the whole week decorating the house and preparing for a month filled with Christmas festivities. One of Tom’s favorites’ is to find new places for our “house elf” Sappy, to oversee the holiday activities. We have such wonderful memories of our holidays and are excited to share these traditions with a little one.

We love the changing of the seasons in our town. In the fall it is college football games, trips to the mountains for hiking among the beautiful fall colors and to the pumpkin farm to pick out the pumpkins for the front steps. Halloween is big in our neighborhood with parade and all!

In the winter we look forward to a family ski trip and staying at Uncle Bob’s place in Colorado. We also love snuggling up by the fireplace in our media room for movie nights.

We mark the beginning of spring with the annual church Easter egg hunt (they even have a flashlight hunt for the older kids!) and the beginning of baseball season. We love going to see our team play. We are just 30 minutes from the stadium!

We look forward to the summer for cookouts with friends on the back porch and our annual family beach trip. We love trying new places and learning about different cultures!

ACTIVITIES

We love being active and spend most of our leisure time outside riding bikes, running, walking in our neighborhood, hiking in the mountains, and playing golf. Our commitment to our church offers many opportunities for families and their children. We love to explore and travel to interesting places and we hope to continue to travel as a family.

We hope we have given you some insight into who we are and the family that would love and cherish your child unconditionally. It has long been a dream of ours to share our life and love with a little one and it is our commitment to make the best possible home we can provide for your child. Your child will know of your love and will understand the precious gift of life that you gave to him or her and to us as adoptive parents. If it is God’s plan that we should be the adoptive parents of your child, we would be anxious to meet you and begin our journey together.
