Marshall & Molly are hopeful adoptive parents from Colorado waiting to adopt a baby.
If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Hello!
Hello and thank you for taking the time to read our letter. Our family began when we met at a football party during college and we soon formed a great friendship. That deep friendship turned to love and we knew we wanted to spend forever together. While dating we talked often of the family we would have and all the fun things we would teach and share with our children. Soon after our marriage we found out having children would not be easy. After a few heartbreaking years and lots of work we were blessed with our daughter Shelby. We cannot describe the joy she brings to our lives. We love being parents! Deep in our hearts we know there are more children for us to love and nurture. We tried infertility treatments for 5 more years and found ourselves again pregnant. It was an extremely difficult pregnancy and we lost our son, Avery, when he was born too early to survive. We began to wonder if maybe there was another way for us to bring the joy of more children into our home. We turned to much reflection, prayer and the advice of family and friends. We happened to have 3 sets of friends that have all adopted and we watched their journey through adoption. We were touched by the instant bond they had with their adopted children and the close relationship they formed with the birth parents. After observing their experiences, we knew that adoption was right for our family. We are so excited about open adoption and feel strongly that it can be a good and positive thing. We know without a doubt that there is someone out there that needs us as much as we need them. With the overwhelming decisions and choices you are faced with we hope we can give you a good representation of who we are and whether or not we are the right family for you. We have outlined a brief summary of our personalities, interests and values.
Introducing our Family
Marshall (dad) is the family comedian. He loves to be silly and make others laugh. He has a zest for learning and loves to learn about the world around him. One of his favorite things to do is watch the discovery channel with Shelby. He entertains us while we play together and loves to play with Shelby. He is very patriotic and a dedicated soldier. He loves working as the commander of a warrior transition unit in the Army. His job allows him to work directly with wounded soldiers, which he finds very rewarding and a great way to give back to his country. He is a hard worker and a great provider. Marshall is a very kind, caring father and husband. He is always concerned for our feelings and is very sensitive to our needs.
Molly (mom) is the nutrition and fitness guru of the family. She loves to be active and runs long distance races and swims for fun. She and Shelby go to the YMCA to play and swim several times a week. Her home environment and family are the center of her life and she finds much happiness being a mom. She loves to decorate, bake and cook for family and friends. With Shelby's help, she plans each holiday celebration; including lots of good food and fun activities. Education is very important to her and she has bachelors in recreational therapy as well as being a certified personal trainer. She worked many years helping people with disabilities but after Shelby was born felt it important to be a full time mom. As Shelby has entered elementary school she works and volunteers at her school and stays active with her class.
Our daughter, Shelby came to us full of life and with a love for people. She is very social and makes friends easily. She is very creative and loves art and music. Our home is always full of her latest artistic creations and she is always singing a song no matter what she is doing. She loves to be active with swimming, soccer and riding her bike. She is quite an entertainer and people are drawn not only to her beautiful red hair but her happy personality. She is a very vibrant and caring person who has brought us much joy. She speaks often of becoming a big sister and how much she will help mommy and daddy with the baby.
Family Life
We have been married over l2 years and are very dedicated to each other. We were close friends before we married and that has continued into our marriage today. We love to run races together and find the time spent running gives us time to talk and bond. As a family we all love the outdoors. We love the beautiful state we live in and love to hike, snowshoe and camp. Our area allows us to take frequent family hikes in which we are able to explore our beautiful surroundings. Some nights we love to make homemade pizza, rent a movie and snuggle together in our large bean bag. Our family lives by the saying, "The family that plays together stays together."
Our neighborhood and community is very family oriented. There are always plenty of community events that we participate in and lots of kids to play within our neighborhood. We have several parks a few blocks away and play at them often. We are very close to our extended family; whether they live close by or far away we get together for every holiday and special occasion and have a deep connection with our family members. We strive to make our home a peaceful atmosphere in which each family member can learn and grow as an individual. It is our greatest desire for our children to grow in their own identity and be able to pursue their individual interests and talents.
Our Gratitude
We feel very blessed as a family and pray daily that through adoption we may bring another family member into our home. We have a place in our family that we know belongs to a child that Heavenly Father is preparing to live and grow with us. We will treasure your baby with all the love of our hearts and cannot wait to welcome them into our arms. We have learned that the greatest blessings come through others and we will always look upon your selfless act as an immeasurable blessing to our family.
