Stephen & Betsy are hopeful adoptive parents from Texas waiting to adopt a baby.
If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Dear Birthmother,
Thank you for taking a moment to check us out! We hope to have the opportunity to walk together with our birthmother through this journey sharing how eternally grateful we are for the gift she is giving us… the gift of a child. We can’t express our gratitude enough and we admire the choices you have made to plan for your child’s future. Please know that we will be forever grateful to our child’s birthmother for making us a family. We truly are so excited about becoming parents!
As a couple we know that our strong love, faith in God, supportive families, and true friendship with each other will provide a warm and balanced home for a child. When we think of the future of a child raised in our home we often come back to the words “well rounded.” We want to share the diverse aspects of life so that they feel confident whether they are camping in the woods or attending a formal wedding. We desire to teach our children the skills needed to feel comfortable in whatever they choose while developing a strong sense of self esteem. We will always be a support for them as they discover life and pursue their personal dreams.

As you learn more about us, you will see we live life in a way we describe as “FULL ON.” We met in college while living in the same apartment complex, and we quickly realized our joint love for biking, hiking and the outdoors. Since then, we have never looked back! We truly are best friends living life together! Eight years ago we were married on top of a mountain in Colorado! We even left the reception on bicycles! Over the past eight years we have traveled in the states and abroad. We have established stable careers and remodeled two homes. For several years now we have begun to make life choices with parenting in mind. Though we were ready to become parents, we soon realized that not all of life’s choices are within our control. We know that becoming a parent is our goal and we are very eager to expand our world by adding a child through adoption!
Betsy is wise beyond her years yet fun, healthy and very active. Most weekends you will find Betsy training for a running event with our dog Stella at her side. She loves planning and preparing healthy meals. Betsy is what you would call a ‘natural’ with kids. Betsy is a Speech-Language Pathologist in a local middle school, working with students who have special learning needs. Whether they are newborn or teenagers, she has a special way of loving and caring for both their physical and emotional needs. She was always babysitting in high school, college and graduate school, and she became a part of each family she worked for over the years. Now that she is an aunt, Betsy spends her free time loving on their niece and nephews. Betsy was created to care for children. She absolutely can’t wait to share the world with a child, as a Mom!
Stephen is always on the go… simply perfect for chasing a toddler! Whether finishing a building project for our own home or competing in a long distance mountain bike race, it is evident Stephen pours his heart into whatever he wants to achieve. Stephen has a wonderful sense of humor and is also VERY handy! Stephen works for a home building company specializing in the construction of one-of-a-kind residential homes. He has remodeled our home top to bottom and builds most of our furniture. He has already drawn plans to build the nursery furniture. He is involved in the local cycling community and spends most of his free time with carpentry, welding, or training for a cycling event. Stephen can’t wait to pour his energy into the long-awaited addition to our family!

We can’t forget to introduce to you our sweet Stella! She is our rescued, gun-shy, bird dog. We considered rescuing a dog for almost a year before adding the responsibility of a pet to our home. Now we can’t imagine our life without her. Sometimes we wonder who has more energy, Stella or Stephen! Stella runs with Betsy at the lake, and is truly spoiled rotten! She takes after Betsy and loves kids! Stella is so patient and gentle with small children. When our niece and nephew come over, she wags her short tail (really her whole bottom) and begins to howl with excitement when she sees them.
We both have wonderful, supportive families. Stephen’s parents and sister’s family live just minutes from us, and Betsy’s family is only a few hours away. We spend holidays and life’s special occasions celebrating with our parents, aunts, uncles and our many cousins. Betsy’s cousins are also awaiting a domestic adoption so your child will have a cousin near their age who was also adopted. Both of our families are excited and truly can’t wait to be a part of us becoming parents.

We live in a big city but as you can imagine, from our lifestyle, our days are not all buildings and concrete. While we live in a city that offers any type of entertainment you can imagine, we also want to share the unique experiences not found in a big city. Betsy has recently planted a vegetable and herb garden, in addition to her flowers, in our back yard! We live near a large lake, which offers many trails and active family opportunities. Our neighborhood is filled with kids and we live near an award-winning elementary school.
Thank you for taking the time to consider us as adoptive parents. We truly believe that God has a hand in putting families together. Your child will never doubt the love that it took for you to make this courageous decision and then painstakingly plan for their future by choosing the right adoptive family. Please know that we will offer your child the same unconditional love and strong values that we were so fortunate to experience as children. Our prayers are with you as you make this important decision.
If you would like to know more about us, we would love to talk with you!
Love,
Betsy & Stephen
