Robert & Vilia are hopeful adoptive parents from Illinois waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Welcome... Thank you for taking the time to get to know us through reading this letter. We are Rob and Vilia, and we would like to tell you a little about ourselves. We cannot imagine all of the emotions that you may be feeling during what must be a scary and confusing time. Deciding to make an adoption plan takes a great deal of courage. Your baby will always know that your decision was made with love and careful consideration. Have confidence and remember that you are a strong woman who will make the decision that is right for you and your baby.

We met for the first time while in college and became friends. We lost touch for a while and when we reconnected, we fell in love. After the first date, Vilia went home and told her parents he is the “one”, this is the man that I am going to marry. Of course her parents thought that she was being dramatic, but as it turns out, that feeling was correct. We began dating in 1996, and had a long distance relationship while Vilia finished her Master’s degree in Education and Rob was working as a pilot out of town. The first couple of years were filled with long phone calls, cards, and frequent visits. We married in 2000 and were finally living in the same place! Since we have been together, we have faced many challenges such as unemployment and infertility. We believe that all of these hurdles brought us closer and made our relationship stronger. We feel as though we can get through anything as long as we have one another. We plan on traveling through all of life’s journeys together. Since having a biological child of our own is not medically possible, we would love to build our family through adoption.
Where we live... We live in a small western suburb of Chicago. We chose this house for several reasons. First of all, it is in an excellent school district. Second, we love that the house is on a quiet and safe cul de sac away from traffic and always filled with children playing. We also love the big deck and fenced in back yard…perfect for family gatherings and for games of fetch with Sammy. Sammy is our six year old golden retriever. We have had him since he was seven weeks old and he has been a fantastic addition to our family. He loves all of our nieces and nephews, and he is very gentle and loving. Lastly, we live a block away from a park with a huge playground! We bought this house with the hopes and dreams of filling it with children some day.
Get to know us... We cannot wait to have a child and share all of the things that we love to do. Every holiday is celebrated, whether that means going to a pumpkin patch or to cut down our own Christmas tree. We love to take long walks with Sam and riding our bikes on the many paths around our home. We also love to cook, bake, read, and travel. We love to explore and learn about new cultures and places. Our favorite vacation so far has been Paris. We were there on our honeymoon and we arrived on New Year’s Eve. It was magical to celebrate the New Year with a view of the Eiffel Tower all lit up! Another favorite is our annual family fishing trip. Every year, for the last 30 years, Rob’s entire family gathers. It is a great time to relax and reconnect. Some of our favorite memories are from these trips!

We both come from families in which our parents have been married for 50 or more years. Our parents are already involved and active grandparents to our seven nephews and nieces and they cannot wait to add to the brood! The entire family is very supportive of our decision to build our family through adoption, especially Rob’s cousins, who were adopted themselves.

About Rob written by Vilia…
Rob is the most loyal and caring person that I have ever known. He is very close to his parents and to his brother and sister. He is a godfather to their children and is a very involved uncle. He is known as the fun one who plays endless games with the kids! Rob will give anyone he cares about the shirt off of his back. One of my favorite things about Rob is that he cares about people, especially my students. As a special education teacher many of my students work for rewards. I have had several students who have thought that the fact that Rob is a pilot was the coolest thing ever. So, Rob often serves as part of their reward. He brings lunch, reads books, and has been known to pass out a set of wings too! He is a patient, loving, kind, and giving man who will make a fantastic daddy some day!

About Vilia written by Rob…
What can I say about Vilia? She is the best life partner that one could ever dream of. She is full of passion, loyalty, and most of all, love. At work, she is a champion for her students. She is never afraid to advocate for what they need, and she strives to give her best every day! This really is evident with our nephews and nieces. The love that she gives to them is unmatched. When you pull all of these ingredients together, you get a girl who will be a loving mom to whoever blesses our family. She loves to cook and bake, and I can just picture her in the kitchen baking up a storm with a little one at her side!

We cannot wait to become parents. Once we are lucky enough to become parents, Vilia will stay home for at least a year. After that, we will make the decision on whether she will teach part time or continue to stay at home. We hope to always have a house filled with love, hugs, tickles, and laughter!
Thank you! Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We wish you luck in your journey of making the most difficult decision imaginable. Deciding to make an adoption plan takes a great deal of courage. If you chose to make adoption plan, your baby will always know that you did so with love and consideration. If we are lucky enough to build our family with your help, you will be giving us the greatest gift. We will always be grateful to you for this supreme act of giving and love. We will forever keep you in our hearts. Our child will always know his or her adoption story. We are willing to explore a level of openness that is comfortable for all of us. We want to respect your wishes and feelings.

Most sincerely,

Rob and Vilia
