John & Marie are hopeful adoptive parents from Michigan waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

A Warm Welcome... Dear Birth Parent,

Thank you for considering adoption! We sincerely admire your strength and courage at this challenging time. It is important to us that we provide you with a sense of comfort and peace, should you choose our home for your precious child. We understand that this must be a difficult decision to make, and our thoughts and prayers are with you. We hope that after reading this letter, you will consider us to provide a secure, loving and happy future for your baby. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us!

We have known each other since 2001. We met in the workplace and instantly became friends. Our friendship developed into romance, and we married in 2006. We were best friends before we fell in love, and that friendship is the foundation of our relationship. Faith, love, respect, honesty, and commitment keep our relationship strong. These are important values that we want to instill in our children. We are unable to biologically have children, but in May of 2010 we were blessed with our daughter, Addison, through the gift of adoption. Becoming parents has been one of the most amazing and enjoyable experiences for us as a couple and has further strengthened our bond. Some of our hobbies include photography, cooking/baking, reading, skiing, canoeing, traveling, sporting events, working-out and volunteering in our community. We especially enjoy vacationing up north at the family beach house every summer.

We are very excited to add another bundle of joy to our family! We have seventeen nieces and nephews and four Godchildren. We enjoy spending quality time with them on a regular basis. They all adore our daughter and are looking forward to the arrival of a new cousin. Please take a moment to read a recommendation letter that my sweet little niece, age 11, wrote in the "journal" section of our profile. Please note that she wrote this before we adopted our first child.

About Marie I was born in 1978 and I am the youngest of five. I am of French, German, Polish and Irish descent. I have been an aunt since I was five-years-old and grew up surrounded by younger children. I had always wanted to be a “Mom” and have had wonderful examples set for me throughout my upbringing.

I stayed active in high school by playing Varsity Tennis, and running Cross Country and Track. While in college I took an active role in the “Big Sibs” Program (similar to Big Brothers/Big Sisters) and was responsible for pairing up college students with children in the community in need of extra attention and guidance. I graduated from the University of Michigan and most recently worked in the Senior Care industry. I am very fortunate to be able to take some time-off from my career to be a stay-at-home mom. It's been a very rewarding experience for me and I absolutely love watching my daughter discover the world and being an active part of her daily life. I look forward to becoming a mother of two and Addison becoming a big sister!

Interests of mine include spending time with family and friends, photography, interior decorating, psychology, playing cards and most outdoor activities. I also have a soft spot for animals (cats and dogs especially). Friends and acquaintances often contact me about animals that need a home and fortunately I've been able to help out a few. I wish I could save them all! I currently volunteer at the Michigan Humane Society and am proud to be part of such a worthwhile cause.

John describes me as compassionate, funny, smart, organized and family-oriented. I have always loved the company of children and I take pride in being a patient, conscientious and supportive Mom who provides unconditional love.
About John I was born in 1970 and I am of English, Irish, Scottish, Austrian and Norwegian descent. Marie describes me as outgoing, funny, considerate, and understanding. I graduated from Central Michigan University and currently work in the computer industry. Sports have played a very important role in my life. When I was younger I spent time playing organized baseball, football, basketball, skiing and tennis. When I was in college I was hired by a ski resort to teach skiing to 5-10 year old kids. This taught me valuable lessons about caring for children; the most important being patience. I am pictured here coaching my nephew’s basketball team. I enjoy helping them improve their athletic skills and promoting good sportsmanship. Other interests of mine include history, reading, cooking and movies.

I am lucky enough to have two wonderful married sisters who each have a son. My oldest nephew was adopted and has blended beautifully into our family structure since the beginning. Children have always been an important part of my life and I got the opportunity to play an active role in their lives by coaching, and organizing neighborhood sporting events. I have been told that I have a kindred spirit when it comes to children. I always try to help and encourage them by taking the time to listen, support and engage them in anything they do. I believe my background in coaching children and my experience as an uncle, has prepared me to become a patient, caring, understanding, supportive and loving father. When I became a Dad it opened up my heart even more and I look forward to sharing our family, love and experiences with our next child.
Our Promise To You... FAMILY
We have both been blessed with loving and supportive families that live nearby. If you choose our home, your child will be showered with an abundance of love from us, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and a big sister! Addison is a sweet, fun-loving toddler who smiles and waves at everyone she meets. She loves life and is very bright, curious, lovable and outgoing. She enjoys being surrounded by loved ones, especially other children. She eagerly watches every move they make and loves interacting with them. Addie has a lot of love to share...she's been giving kisses since she was five months old! She will be a wonderful big sister!

FAITH
We were raised Catholic, and currently attend church as a family. We are proud Godparents of four children, within two different denominations of Christianity. We will be understanding and supportive of whichever religion or philosophy our child chooses as an adult. Our belief is that faith must come from within, and should not be forced.

VALUES
We are financially secure and plan to support our children through their endeavors. We value the importance of dedication and effort towards learning, and in developing a child’s strengths and talents. This in turn builds self-esteem, which we believe is an important part of finding inner-peace and happiness in life.

If we are fortunate enough to be selected by you, we promise to love your child unconditionally and be supportive, gentle, and thoughtful parents. We will lead by example and will give your child a home filled with love, laughter and joy…and plenty of hugs and kisses!

Thank you so much for taking the time to learn more about us. We would love to learn more about you! Please feel free to call us at (248)231-1997. We wish you the best and hope to hear from you soon!

Sincerely,
John, Marie & Addison
