Nathan & Emily are hopeful adoptive parents from Oregon waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

About Us Dear Friend,

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our family. Know that we love you and pray for you daily that you will have strength and courage during this time of decision making. Send us a message

We met while in college and have been married for almost 3 years. We both feel that we married our best friend and favorite person in the world, and we can’t wait to expand our family through the miracle of adoption.

As a couple we enjoy a lot of different activities together and mostly just love being together whatever it is we’re doing. We love to play racquetball and take bike rides together. In the summer we love being outdoors camping, hiking and taking walks. One of our favorite evening activities is to walk or drive around different neighborhoods looking at houses and comparing architecture, talking about our dream home, or what we would build if we had all the money in the world. In fact, Nathan proposed by building a scale model of the “dream home” we talked about when we were dating; a red brick house on an acre of land (including a garden) with a red barn used as a garage and wood shop. When I lifted the roof off the barn there was the ring! That home is still the dream we are working towards!

We come from large extended families and maintain close relationships with our parents and siblings who live near and far. Nathan is the second of nine children; Emily is the fourth of five. We love getting together with our families and are lucky enough to have most of Emily’s family living close by. We get together often for family dinners to celebrate birthdays and other special events. Both sets of parents LOVE being grandparents and are so excited for more grandchildren to spoil!

Education is very important to us. We both graduated with Bachelor’s degrees and Nathan went on to earn a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. We were both raised in families that appreciated and encouraged lifelong learning and are excited to instill that in our children as well. We, Emily especially, love to read and already have more books than fit on our current bookshelves. Our dream home includes a comfy library room (with bean bags.)
About Nathan from Emily Nathan is the best person I have ever known. In our three years of marriage I have learned more about how to serve others from him than I ever had all the years previous. I consider this his greatest strength. He is always going out of his way to put others first. Nathan is not someone who likes to be in the spotlight, but rather quietly helping others.

Nathan is kind and patient. I know he will be a loving and patient father to our children. I love watching him interact with our nieces and nephews, who just love when their “Uncle Nay-Nay” comes to play with them. He especially looks forward to teaching our children the things he learned from his dad while working together in the garage and yard. He has a great work ethic and works hard in everything he does. He is always willing to put in the extra effort to do things well, a trait I very much admire. Nathan is great at home improvement projects and building things. He can’t wait to have a big garage for all his tools and a wood shop out back for building furniture for our home.

Being able to provide a stable financial home for his family is very important for Nathan. He is currently employed as a Design Engineer and works on improving the aerodynamics of semi-trucks. He is always learning new things about engineering and waits rather impatiently for his Popular Science magazine to come in the mail every month. Nathan is very creative and is always thinking of new designs and ideas for patents and inventions to make life easier; everything from improvements for car engines to better ways to hang pictures on the wall.

Nathan is funny! He is great at using humor to put others at ease and change a tense mood. He is especially great at making me laugh when I am frustrated or upset.

I feel so grateful to have found an eternal companion who is my best friend and greatest example. I have become such a better person having been married to Nathan and am so excited to be able to share our love with the children who will come into our home.
About Emily from Nathan Emily is an amazing person. Emily has all the qualities I was looking for in an eternal companion which includes the qualities one would love in a mother. Emily is great with children. She earned her degree in Elementary education and has worked as a fifth grade teacher. We have several nieces and nephews that live close and they all just can’t get enough of Emily. She is especially excited to be a stay-at-mom to our children.

Emily has many talents. One of her greatest talents is in music. Emily has a beautiful voice. She has sung in several choirs and loves to sing along with the radio. I think she’d be a great contestant on American Idol but she doesn’t know about that (she’s humble too). She also is great on the piano and insisted that we get a piano as soon as possible (which we did).

Emily is also a really good cook. She has recently even been a little adventurous with trying some new recipes. She usually cooks very healthy food except on Sundays when she has this thing for making cookies and cinnamon rolls, a tradition I encourage.

Emily is athletic. She and I like to play racquetball together and hike. Emily recently trained for and completed her first half-marathon.

Emily is spiritual and loving. She really is my best friend in the world. I especially appreciate her good humor and her willingness to laugh at my jokes that really aren’t that funny. She will be a loving, devoted and fun mother to our children and I can’t wait to raise our family together with her.
How we feel about adoption We look forward to teaching our children about their birth parents and their loving decision to choose adoption. We are open to communicating with them through letters, pictures, emails and phone calls. We both have extended family members whose lives have been touched by adoption and feel blessed to be able to be a part of this miracle.

Whatever your decision may be, we already feel eternally grateful for birth parents like yourselves who prayerfully and lovingly consider adoption.

You will remain in our prayers and we look forward to the chance to meet you.

Sincerely,

Nathan and Emily
