Michael & Sierra are hopeful adoptive parents from South Dakota waiting to adopt a baby.
If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Hello! Thank you for looking at our profile and getting to know us. We can’t even imagine what your recent journey has been like. We admire your courage and love in making efforts to give the best possible future for your child. Selecting parents for your child is a difficult decision, and we hope to make it easier for you by introducing ourselves. We hope and pray that you are receiving the care and support that you need at this time. We believe that our Heavenly Father is guiding this adoption process. We trust that He will guide us to the right birth family and provide the outcome that will be best for all involved.
We are very excited about becoming adoptive parents! Both of us feel very strongly that we should have children in our family. We couldn’t imagine a greater blessing in our lives than the possibility of children. It is difficult to put into words our longing and hope for a child of our own. This has been our dream since we were married in December of 2001. Our number-one priority is to create a loving family environment filled with wonderful choices and opportunities for our child’s future. We can hardly wait for the day when our arms are no longer empty!

Both of us grew up in warm, devoted and supportive families. Both sets of our parents have been married for over 30 years each. Michael is the middle of five children and Sierra is the middle of three children. We are close with our siblings as well as our parents. Sierra’s family lives close by and are just as excited as we are to welcome a child into the family. Our nieces and nephews are at the center of our attention, even at times when we haven’t lived close to them. We have found much joy in this aspect of our lives.
Having both served LDS missions, we coincidentally both learned to speak French and had amazing cultural and spiritual experiences. Both of us count serving the Lord on a full-time basis as one of our greatest blessings and strengths. Our goal is to instill a love of missionary work and enthusiasm in our child. Additionally, Sierra plans to speak French with our child while Michael will speak English.

Education was a major focus of both of our upbringings. All four of our parents are college graduates and beyond. We recognize that our choices concerning education have afforded us great opportunities. The value of a good education will be among the core values we will teach our child. Additionally, we have both been blessed with the opportunity to work.
Michael’s bachelor degree has led to experiences managing hotel desks, particularly for the Marriott, as well as managing various stores for Big D Oil Company. He is successful in managing employees as well as clientele. Michael is incredibly skilled with his hands. He constructed our bed frame and our dog’s house purely from designs in his mind. Not only can he fix nearly anything, but he can create new solutions for repairs. He mows our grass, rakes the leaves, cleans the gutters and loves to be outdoors. He is an avid golfer and a formidable athlete. He also enjoys building models. Michael possesses unlimited patience and determination.
Sierra has a Psychology degree and enjoys studying the mind and how mental and emotional development occurs. Currently, she cares for an elderly lady as her personal assistant. Every day is different in its tasks and opportunities. Sierra’s domain is the interior of the home. She actually enjoys doing the dishes! She oversees the decorating and upkeep of our home. Her evenings are spent scrapbooking and card-making. She regular makes all our Christmas cards by hand.

We live in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota, where there is much to see and explore. Lakes, hills, hiking and many outdoor activities abound. It is also a “hometown” place, because wherever we go, we see someone we know! We purchased a home in a quiet neighborhood with visions of a safe place for our child to grow and learn. We are within walking distance to the nearest park as well as the nearest elementary school. We truly feel blessed to live in such a special place.
Upon adoption, Sierra will become a full-time mother and wife. Although she enjoys her current work, she is ready and willing to devote all her time, energy and passion to nurture and provide for the family.
Our marriage has thus far been filled with joy, love and laughter. Now it is our turn to share our life and love with a child. We want you to know that we will continue the selfless and complete love that you have shown your child. It requires a very special person to give the gift of life and bring joy to others who will fulfill your hopes and wishes for your child. We promise to give your baby hugs and kisses, bedtime stories, lullabies, with lots of love and affection. With God’s help, we promise to provide a lifetime of happiness, comfort and joy. Our hearts and home are prepared to do this.
