Ryan & Jody are hopeful adoptive parents from Illinois waiting to adopt a baby.
If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

We appreciate the time that you’re taking to learn a little about us and how we came to this point in our lives. Although we can’t possibly imagine the difficulty of the situation you’re in right now, we admire your strength in considering adoption for your child. Without people like you, couples such as us would never have the opportunity to raise a child. With that being said, we thank you for considering us as possible adoptive parents for your child. In return, we promise to give the child a life full of unconditional love, support and guidance.
The two of us started dating in high school and that’s where our story begins. It seems odd to find the person you will spend your life with at age 15, but that’s exactly what happened. The two of us have pretty much been inseparable ever since. We are truly best friends. After dating through college and the four years that Ryan spent in medical school, we got engaged. In 2002, we were married in a beautiful beach ceremony attended by family and our closest friends.

Ryan is an all-around great person and I believe will be a terrific father. He is an emergency physician and even though he is technically off duty while at home, he often gets many calls from family and friends regarding medical questions. Everyone feels safer knowing that an excellent doctor is just a phone call away. He is also a huge sports fan. He played sports in high school and now he loves to take part in any kind of sporting event, even if it’s just watching. He also enjoys taking care of our yard, which always looks wonderful and taking walks with me and our dogs.
Ryan graduated from the University of Illinois in 1998 with a degree in biology and then went on to Southern Illinois University and completed his medical degree in 2002. He has one older sister, who is married with two sons. Nicholas is 10 and Joshua is almost 6. We see them frequently as they only live a couple of hours away and we get together to celebrate birthdays and other family events.
Ryan’s mother and father live just a couple of hours from us. We see and talk to them often. Ryan’s mother works for a pharmaceutical company and his father has a career in sales. Even though they have grandchildren already, they are anxiously awaiting our family to begin so that they can experience childhood again through the eyes of our children.
Jody is a smart, funny, compassionate woman and simply lights up a room. She is selfless and everything she does is aimed at the betterment and happiness of those around her. She enjoys running, attending sporting events with me and decorating cakes, especially for our niece and nephews’ birthdays. I feel she will make a wonderful mother and is so ready to dedicate herself to the rearing of a child. I am fortunate to call her my wife and best friend.
Jody also graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in biology, but a few years after Ryan in 2001. She now works for a university in St. Louis performing cancer research. Jody has two older brothers. One lives in Pennsylvania, which unfortunately limits our visits. However, we do manage to get together a few times every year and we get along well. Jody’s oldest brother lives about an hour away from us with his wife and their three children. We see them often at family gatherings and very much enjoy spending time with them.

We make a terrific couple and feel we have so much to contribute to a child’s life. The two of us have strong values that were instilled into us by our parents and we consider hard work and honesty to be very important. We will do everything possible to ensure our children grow to be independent and successful individuals. We have a spacious, new home with four bedrooms and a finished basement that is perfect for a playroom. We live in a quiet subdivision that would be a wonderful and safe place for a child to grow up. It is full of friendly families with children of all ages and the sound of kids playing and laughing is always present. We are very much looking forward to starting our family as that is the only thing missing from our life together.
Our thoughts are with you and your baby,
Ryan & Jody
