Rod & Cris are hopeful adoptive parents from Virginia waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Dear Birth Parent,

Rod and I would like to thank you for your incredible sacrifice in having your baby and giving him or her up for adoption. Please know that in doing this you have made our greatest dreams come true. In Jan 07, we were blessed with Isabella Caroline through an open adoption in Nebraska. We are praying that you decide to extend our family by one!

Family is very important to us. Rod and I are extremely close to our own families. You can take comfort in the thought that your baby will be loved and cherished. He or she will grow up in a close extended family and have the opportunity to travel and receive a college education. The baby will have every advantage in life that we can provide.

Warmest Regards,
Rod, Cris and Bella
Rod about Cris When Cris and I met I saw fireworks, and I love fireworks. I had to go out with her and see what she was like away from her friends, she’s just the same; she is smart, funny, and very loving. I like to think we have similar personalities but we don’t at least not in all things because she is also organized, thoughtful and focused. Cris is a great comfort to me, I call her my anchor, she soothes my worries and takes good care of me when I’m being a big baby with a cold.
Cris loves being a kid, she is a Disney fiend. I have to rein her in when we go or I’d need a vacation from my vacation. Did I mention she’s enthusiastic? Well she is, about everything she does, even if its work related. Cris is very patriotic as well, though she worries about me when I set off fireworks on the Fourth. She loves working in the Air Force and takes good care of the people who work for her and the people she works for.
As a Cuban American, Cris is also very proud of her heritage, she’s bi-lingual and likes all things Cuban.
With children she has a calming affect, I get them spun up and running around and Cris can calm them right down. She gets along better with little girls than with boys but that’s ok, I’ll handle the mancubs.
Cris about Rod Rod has a kind and generous spirit – he would do anything for someone he cares about. This trait makes him very protective of his friends and family. He always makes me feel safe. He is also very affectionate with me, Bella and with his family. He is very loyal, which has allowed him to maintain a close relationship with the same group of friends over the last twenty years, despite many moves.
I love to watch him with Bella and with our friends’ kids – he relates to them on their levels. He bonds quickly and more often than not, ends up being a human jungle gym. It really is a talent, likely developed through his close relationship with his baby sister, 12 years his junior; and with his nephew and niece. My friend once called him a child entertainment center.
Rod is very intelligent and he enjoys activities that challenge his mind, such as reading and computer games. He also enjoys playing card and board games with friends.
Our family In January 2007, we brought home a baby girl and named her Isabella Caroline. She brought great joy to our lives and we would love to share this joy with a little brother or sister. We had a great experience with open adoption in Nebraska and stay in contact with Bella's birth mother and birth aunt. We also kept up a website for Bella with pictures, so her birth mother could check up on her anytime she needed to.
