Jeff & Laura are hopeful adoptive parents from Illinois waiting to adopt a baby.

Dear Birthmother Hi, my name is Laura and my husband's name is Jeff. We are super excited about adopting a child. We've always wanted to have a family, and we've always been open and excited about building a family through adoption.

We offer our deepest respect and gratitude to you for taking this challenge on and giving the gift of life. We would love to hear more about you, how you're feeling, and what your thoughts are. We would love to learn about you and your life. As a way of getting things started, let us share a little about ourselves.

Jeff and I met six years ago. We both worked at a local bookstore. Total geeks! I know! Many of our bookstore friends tried to set us up, which I was all for. Naturally, Jeff being a guy, was totally oblivious to the schemes to get us together! Finally, I asked him out on a date, and from that night on, we were a couple. We just clicked, and we knew it was right.

Our Marriage & Life Together Jeff and I get along great. Jeff is super funny, and whenever I get too worried, he helps me laugh and lighten up. I am the organizer and planner of the family. I make sure the dogs get their check-ups and Jeff gets to the dentist. I also plan afternoons at the park, date nights, vacations and family get-togethers.

Right now Jeff and I both work, but I plan to be a stay-at-home mom once we start our family. I'm a Realtor, and Jeff works for an engineering firm. We both have been blessed with excellent careers and have a secure and comfortable lifestyle. A couple years ago, we were able to buy a home without taking out a loan, so we have no mortgage and have been able to start saving for our future child’s college education early.

For fun, we like to bike, swim and cook gourmet meals. We walk our dogs a lot, and we both love skiing and sledding. I’m a big tennis buff and come from a family of tennis players and golfers. Jeff comes from a family of boaters and he also loves Frisbee golf.
During the week, we sometimes watch television. We are passionate "Lost" fans. And, I am a sucker for shows like "The Bachelor." Jeff prefers the Discovery channel and likes the show about Alaskan king crab fishermen.

Our Hopes for Our Child Our philosophy for raising a child can be described in two words: love and support. Our homes were full of love and support and that is what we plan to provide for our son or daughter.

My parents blessed me with the opportunity to attend college and to obtain two master's degrees. I was encouraged to travel and have been all over the world. Jeff went to college and was supported as well. At a young age, he was a math and electronics whiz and then went on to become an accomplished engineering designer.

We were never pushed or pressured, but we were given great choices and funding and were encouraged to dream. We will support our child's dreams in the same loving manner.
