Billy & Renee are hopeful adoptive parents from Illinois waiting to adopt a baby.
If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Welcome
Hello!
We are Billy and Renee and would like to thank you for the opportunity to share our lives and ourselves with you through this letter. We can only imagine what a difficult time this must be for you as you make plans for your child’s future. We admire your strength and courage and wish you peace in the weeks and months ahead.
Our decision to create our family through adoption came to us after 3 years of unsuccessful attempts at pregnancy and infertility treatments. We want more than anything to become parents and are thrilled to move forward with our dream of building a family through adoption. To us, having a family and sharing our love with a child is far more important than how we became parents.
About Us
Billy
After graduating from high school, I attended a community college and then enlisted in The United States Army. After serving a 5 year commitment, I continued my dream and went to college and received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration while continuing to be active in the National Guard. In 2003 upon graduation, I was commissioned as an Army Officer. Currently, I am teaching ROTC at a college and have found my calling in the military. When I retire in about 9 years, I would like to find another teaching/mentoring assignment. I enjoy being able to share with cadets knowledge, experience, and love of country and help develop future Army soldiers.
About Billy by Renee
Billy is a kid at heart. He loves sports, computer games and building models. Billy is great with children and will make a great dad. Kids are instantly attracted to Billy---he is the first to get on “their level” and play. We were visiting with some friends who have 3 children. The five year old child got out his toy men and set them all up. Me, being the kindergarten teacher, said “Let’s count them!” Billy walked in the room and said “I will be green, you be tan” and the game was on. They had so much fun.
He loves to play, joke and has a wonderful sense of humor. Billy is also very giving and loves animals. He makes sure we donate to local and national animal shelters.
Renee
Since I was a little girl, I always knew that I wanted to work and be involved with children. Babysitting was my favorite pastime when I was young. Choosing education as a profession seemed natural to me. While attending college to become an elementary teacher, I worked at a church day care center as a pre-school teacher. I graduated from college in 1995 and began teaching. I have been teaching early elementary grades 14 years -- most of those years as a Kindergarten teacher. I love children and teaching. Watching children learn is truly a rewarding experience. I become so close with my students and their families that my class was invited to our wedding!
Since moving to Illinois, I am staying at home and looking into a part time job in education until a child is welcomed into our home.
About Renee by Billy
Renee is a very patient, understanding and caring person. She will go out of her way to help others. Renee has a great sense of humor and is fun to be around. She is very organized and always has a plan. Renee enjoys spending time with family and friends, decorating, scrap booking, working crossword puzzles and working on projects. One of her favorite projects was helping plan her Goddaughter, Caylee’s, 3rd birthday party at an animal farm. I have seen Renee with her classroom kids, our niece, Katelyn, and Caylee. It is amazing to see the amount of patience, love, understanding and fun that she has with children. With all of her qualities, I know she will be a perfect mother.
Billy & Renee Together
We were set up on a blind date in 2001 by one of Billy’s close family friends. We instantly connected and began a wonderful relationship. We were married in 2004. We are truly best friends. We consider ourselves to be a “team” in everything that we do---finances, household chores, etc. On our wedding day we even bought each other the exact same card without even knowing it. We truly talk about everything and always try to respect each others feelings. Laughter is a huge part of our lives----we always have fun!
We enjoy sporting events, walking our dog Macie, eating out, and exploring /traveling area towns. We enjoy spending time at home watching sports and our favorite reality T.V. shows or hanging around the house.
We love holidays and traditions. Our favorite Christmas tradition is our Christmas village. We get a new village house every year and look forward to setting it all up on Thanksgiving night.
Macie & Patches
We have a very sweet 5 year old dog named Macie. She is a blonde Lab/German Shepard Mix. She was found on the side of a country road in bad shape. We rescued her and nursed her back to health. She enjoys going for walks, watching the squirrels and birds in our back yard and sneaking up on the couch for a nap when we aren’t looking.
Patches is our 7 year old gray and white cat. We also rescued her. She enjoys napping, eating and napping some more. Macie and Patches are a very important part of our family.
Family, Friends & Our Community
Extended Families
We have very close ties with our immediate as well as extended families. We keep in very close contact through phone calls (Renee, her mom and sister have a “3-way” phone call every night), emails and visits at least 3 times a year. We enjoy cook outs, camping trips and holidays together. All of our family and friends are very excited and supportive about our adoption journey. This will be the first grandchild on Renee’s side of the family.
Our Community
We live in a small community about 2 miles outside of town. Our house has 3 bedrooms and a large kitchen that includes a study. Renee has had fun decorating it and making it feel like “home.” There are several parks nearby and tons of places to walk and explore.
We regularly attend a non-denominational community church. Religion will always play an important part in our lives.
Looking Forward
We take great pride in being a military family. There is a saying---HOME IS WHERE THE ARMY SENDS YOU---to us being a family and being together matters most. Being a military child is a very exciting and rewarding experience. Children have the opportunity to live in different places and experience different cultures. We are excited about sharing military life and patriotism with a child. Billy is proud to serve his country and should he be called to serve away from home, please be assured that our family bond is strong and will remain strong if duty calls. There is an incredible support group in the military—some of our closest friends are military families. There are incredible resources and health benefits that the military provides for children and families.
Being a stay at home mom also allows Renee to go home to family for extended visits.
We have less than 9 years until retirement. We plan on moving back to Texas to be near our extended families and settle down.
Renee is so looking forward to reading her favorite children’s books like
Brown Bear and
Oh, David with a child and Billy can hardly wait to take a child to his/her first baseball game. There will be visits to the park, the zoo, parades, the beach and holidays with family and friends. We can provide a child a happy, secure, nurturing home where he/she will be supported and loved unconditionally. We are committed to raising a child with strong values, a love of family and the importance of education.
We want you to know that adoption will always be an open discussion in our family and that our child will know his or her adoption story from early on and know that we are proud of the way we became a family. Your child will always know who you are and how much you love him/her.
Please know, if you choose us to parent your baby, we look forward to building a relationship that is comfortable for us all. We are looking forward to sending and accepting photos and letters throughout the years.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit about us and considering us as adoptive parents for your baby. We wish you all the best in your journey and decision.
Best Wishes-
Billy & Renee
