Let’s start at the beginning …
Chett and I feel that it was “fate” that we met and fell in love. We have been happily married for twelve years. We met in 1996 through a family friend who set us up on a blind date. We both knew that we found “the one.” At the time, Chett lived in New York and I lived in New Jersey. After eight months of dating, Chett proposed to me. We married a year later surrounded by 170 of our closest friends and family members. We settled down in New Jersey and enjoyed married life together. About 1½ years after we were married we set out to build our dream home in New Jersey. We selected our neighborhood because our area ranks as one of the top school districts in New Jersey, and education is very important to us.
Taking the next step
After spending several years as newlyweds and enjoying quality time together as a couple, we felt it was time to start our family. We knew we might encounter challenges, due to the fact that I am a DES baby. This meant that when my mom was pregnant with me, her doctor encouraged her to take a pill to prevent a miscarriage. Years later, the FDA realized this affected the offspring in a negative way and it would make it difficult to have babies. After having a difficult couple of years trying to conceive on our own, we felt we should try fertility treatments. After four IVF cycles, we got pregnant and we were thrilled - to say the least. We were going to have our “miracle baby.” We were overjoyed at the birth of our son, Zachary and we were ecstatic about becoming first time parents.
Zachary is 5 years old and lights up any room he enters. He is outgoing, kind, smart, and lovable -- as we hear “I love you” numerous times per day. He is a happy, full of life child and a showman to say the least. He expresses his desire to have a baby brother or sister and we know that he is going to make an amazing big brother.
(Zachary proudy shows a picture he made for his future baby brother or sister.)
Zachary is eager to start kindergarten this year; his school is just a minute from our home. He is particularly excited about riding the school bus.
After Zachary was a few years old, we felt it was time to try for another baby. This time was harder than the first. We tried on our own again and after several failed attempts, we turned to IVF again. This time, we got to the fourth IVF cycle and decided enough is enough. Our goal is to have another child, a sibling for Zachary, not necessarily to be “pregnant” … and here we are
today.
No more negative pregnancy test results, no more guessing - “Will it happen?” We feel adoption is the path we are supposed to be on, and we are excited to welcome another “miracle baby” into our life.
A place to call home
We live in a close knit community. Our home is on a cul-de-sac street, so it is safe for kids to play. We have the type of neighbors that you can rely on for anything. We are centrally located and we have topnotch hospitals, great shopping and beautiful parks and beaches nearby.
Our home has 4 bedrooms, 2 ½ bathroom, a big bright kitchen, a dining room, a family room and a playroom. We are very proud of the home we created. We put a lot of effort into making this house “our” home. We converted the living room into a playroom for Zachary, when he was an infant. The playroom is Zachary’s room for play dates with his friends and cousins, and where we gather as a family to play and have fun. We moved Zachary into his “big boy” bedroom when he was three years old and he tells us often that “he loves his room so much.”
The nursery is complete and ready to welcome a precious baby boy or girl when the time is right. Zachary already calls the nursery the “baby’s room.” He cannot wait to become a big brother and welcome his new baby sister or baby brother home.
I am a
stay at home mom who loves taking care of my family. I take Zachary to gym class, karate and swimming lessons. Like most children, he is very active and likes to keep busy. We live close to the New Jersey shore and enjoy taking walks on the boardwalk and riding a few of the amusement park rides. Living close to New York City, we take advantage of all the fun things the city has to offer; we especially like going to Broadway shows and visiting museums. We like to make our weekends special by planning different activities or day trips. We LOVE to spend time together.
To unwind, we spend time relaxing in our family room watching movies, reading stories or playing games. We also enjoy cooking together as a family and make lots of yummy treats.
Our extended family is a big part of our life.
Zachary has four cousins; Matthew (7), Jacob (3) and twins, Matthew and Alissa (9). We are very lucky to have our entire family close by and we really enjoy spending time with them. We are an especially close family, and we make it a point to get together often. We gather to celebrate birthdays, holidays, special events and for normal family barbeques. Aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents are all more than ready to welcome our family’s newest addition.
And we cannot forget about “Teddy’, our Ragdoll cat. He and Zachary have a particularly close relationship. Teddy is a big fur ball. Zachary loves to play with Teddy. We consider “Teddy” the mascot of the house!
Chett is the Chief Operating Officer for a hotel. He has a very flexible schedule and most of the time he works from home in his home-office. He is able to set time aside to put Zachary on the bus in the morning, or take him off the bus in the afternoon. His career has made it possible for us to have a nice lifestyle and allows us take wonderful family vacations. Chett is a great father, husband and provider to our family. He goes out of his way to make sure we are well taken care of.
We cannot wait to share our life and our love with another precious child. The addition of a “special little someone” will make our family absolutely complete. I often walk into the “baby’s room” envisioning how wonderful it will be to see my youngest child lying in the crib. I dream about sitting on the rocker feeding him/her with the help of big brother, Zachary.
Now that Zachary will be going to school full time, the timing couldn’t be more perfect. This will allow me quality time to spend with a newborn and be able to focus 100% of my time with a baby, while Zachary is in school. I plan on doing ‘Mommy and Me’ classes with the baby, just as I did with Zachary.
I can’t wait to become a mother of two.
I look forward to creating many wonderful childhood memories for my children.

We are open to keeping you updated.
If you would like to remain in contact, we will share occasional updates and pictures so you can see how the baby is growing and thriving in our care. If you decide to be updated, we can talk about it together and make a plan that we are all comfortable with.
Chett and I - are a young, energetic couple with a whole lot of love and guidance to share with another child. In our care, your child will be cherished daily; we will provide a safe, secure, two-parent home, with a big brother, financial security and countless opportunities in life. We feel the time is “just right” to welcome another beautiful child into our life.
