John & Leslie are hopeful adoptive parents from Michigan waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

MEET LESLIE & JOHN We have great respect and admiration for you as you plan for your baby’s future.  Placing your baby for adoption is a loving, caring and a selfless decision.  We are thrilled that you are taking the time to get to know us.

We are Leslie and John and we’ve been happily married for 15 years.  Family has always been a priority for both of us.  Soon after we were married we began planning our family. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out exactly as planned. After two years of trying to conceive, we began fertility treatments—a long, emotional, and devastating experience.  We tried everything before ending our infertility battle. We have always dreamed of being parents and doing all of the wonderful things families do together. We are not giving up--and hope that through adoption-- we’ll have the family we’ve dreamed of for so long.

Today our family consists of the two of us and our menagerie of pets.  John is a hard working attorney who loves and respects his profession.  He specializes in construction and real estate law and enjoys his work very much.  You see--unlike most lawyers-- John really likes to get his hands dirty.  He’s been known to crawl in attics, wet basements, and who knows where…just to inspect the damage himself.  John put himself through law school working construction jobs.  Leslie is an Architectural Color Consultant.  As a color and design specialist she selects colors for homes and businesses. She, too, is passionate about her work, and strongly believes that there is no such thing as a bad color only rather bad color combinations. Leslie works from home and she makes her own hours. She can’t wait to be a stay at home mom.

OUR LIFE TOGETHER
Over the years we have developed many interests.  We love to travel and explore.  One summer-- accompanied by our seafaring friends --we sailed a small boat down the Mediterranean Sea Coast, from France to Italy and back. Sound crazy? Maybe, but, we had the time of our lives.  We ate, laughed, ate, ate some more and laughed till we cried.
Much of our free time together seems to revolve around our pets and the beach.  We enjoy walking on the beach, spending time with friends and relatives, or sharing a romantic glass of wine at the end of a perfect day.  During the summer, we enjoy spending time at our cottage on the Lake; it’s a place where time actually stands still a little- the smell of barbecues, swimming, sandcastles, bon fires on the beach… a place where families are together and kids are safe.

During the winter months, we both enjoy snow skiing or –whenever we can--escaping to Florida for a little ocean time. We are rather passionate about the arts and enjoy supporting local artists and attending art exhibits. We are very active and spend our free time playing tennis and golf and practicing Yoga.

OUR HOME & FAMILY We live in a rather unique, super safe, culturally diverse, COOL community. It’s a small town with an urban feel. Our downtown location enables us to walk a few blocks to everything: kid’s playgrounds, a community house (offering many children’s activities), soccer, ball fields, tennis courts, stores, movies and most importantly the ice cream parlors and the cup cake place.  We have an award winning elementary school just 2 streets over and 3 blocks down. Our schools are some of the finest in the state. Our house is a charming old home with a huge front porch, and three decks off the back. We painstakingly remodeled our home ourselves.

Our family and friends are very supportive of our decision to adopt. They can’t wait to be aunts and uncles. We enjoy a diverse group of friends and we get to enjoy their kids too (double bonus) as we are Aunt Leslie and Uncle John to many. It’s all good!

OUR PETS
We are HUGE animal lovers.  Much of our current lifestyle centers around our “Girls.”  Matisse is our 16 year old Dalmatian; she is a couch potato and we mean literally.  Weighing in at just 6.5 lbs is Daisy Marie, better known as “Dooby” by her closest friends. She is a funny, loveable, sweet as pie Maltese. Monet, is our peppy 16 year old kitty. Kelly is a beautiful gray kitty, who is sweet and demure.  They all LOVE kids and they seriously have felt shorted in the kid department--we would really love to help them out in this area.
LESLIE & JOHN SHARE THOUGHTS LESLIE ABOUT HERSELF
I grew up in the same house, and in the same quaint, cute, safe, small town until leaving for college.  Friday night football games and McDonald’s ruled my teenage years. My childhood was honestly rather idyllic.  Our house was on small inland lake and much of my world revolved around the lake. We swam; water skied, boated, and fished. In the winter, our ice rink was great for skating, and playing hockey.  Some of my best memories growing up were rolling out of bed and going down to the beach with my Mom to swim. Another fond memory is my Dad taking a Saturday off from work so my brother and I could go fishing with him. These were magical times and shaped who I am today.   I hope we are able to bring some of that same simple magic to our child’s life.

My parents were a little older when they had my brother and me and they were ready to spend quality time with their children.  Like my parents, I have experienced a lot of life already and I am so ready to be a mom. I look forward to spending lots of time and sharing my interests and experiences with a child.  I’ll nurture and love them-- and help our child grow and find their true self-- as my parents so selflessly did for me.

JOHN ABOUT HIMSELF
I was born and raised in Michigan.  My childhood was bumpy- Mom and Dad divorced and both remarried.  Gramps taught me how to golf and mom taught me how to play tennis. Most importantly I learned -- win or lose--to be a gentleman. We took great road trips in the family, “truckster” (our word for a large 4 door car) and enjoyed crisscrossing the U.S.  The car broke down in Pikes Peak and Yellowstone and once we even slept in a restaurant during a blizzard on our way to snowmobile races. “Are we there yet?”  I worked construction to put myself through school.  I always wanted to be a lawyer as I imagined fighting for the underdog!  I adore my wife and our “girls” (pets). I still love to play golf and I’m an eBay and flea market junkie.

LESLIE TALKS ABOUT JOHN
John is my best friend and confident.  I met and fell in love with him at our local gym. I know how cliché this must sound, but, it’s true. I actually asked him out. I had previously had a long run of blind dates and wanted to take destiny into my own hands.  On our first date, we realized that we had a lot in common.   A man with real interests; this was refreshing from my previous dating adventures. I learned that John collects vintage watches, enjoys tennis, golf and downhill skiing (pretty cool hobbies).

I soon met his kind and loveable family and the rest is history.  Also, most importantly, John liked my animals. Matisse would eventually walk down the aisle at our wedding-- okay things got confused and she came down the aisle to the Wedding March-- but, it is those imperfect crazy moments that we both cherish so much.   John just goes with it, and I love that about him.

JOHN TALKS ABOUT LESLIE
Leslie is the most compassionate, caring and loving person I have ever known.  She will be an incredible mom. It’s all these qualities that made me fall in love with her.  She’s always the optimist, seeing the good in everyone.  Our friends say, “she comes from the planet of nice.”

Family comes first for Leslie. I have always admired how Leslie takes that little extra time no matter what goes on in her day to check in, to see if everybody is okay.   She’s the type to care for a sick friend or just to be a sounding board.  For her there is nothing better than being at home, cuddling with me and our pets.  A new baby will just snuggle right into our lives.

IN CLOSING We are glad that you took the time to get know a little about us and our fun filled lifestyle. We enjoy our lives now and look forward to new adventures and the enrichment of becoming first time parents.  We realize that raising a child can be challenging, but we are eager and ready to meet those challenges.  We hope to have the opportunity to get to know you better.

Please call us day or night at 1-877-278-4686.

We wish the best to you as you make some important decisions for yourself and your baby.  Please take care of yourself and know that our thoughts are with you during this very difficult time.

Our very best wishes,
Leslie and John
