Mitch & Amber are hopeful adoptive parents from Minnesota waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Mitch, Amber & Larkin We are Mitch, Amber and Larkin. Before you begin to read about us and look at our photos, we want you to know that we believe you are incredibly brave and unselfish to consider finding an adoptive family to raise your baby. We are looking forward to adding a new member to our family. This is such an extraordinary opportunity for us. Thank you for considering us to be that family.

Our daughter Larkin joined our family (through adoption) three years ago. She has filled us with more love and joy than we ever imagined possible. Becoming parents to Larkin has been a true gift and our family is thriving. It would be wonderful to become parents again and Larkin will be a wonderful big sister!

About Us
We met in college in 1994. We were both working at a catering company. Maybe it was luck, or maybe it was because we catered weddings and "love was in the air", but either way we soon fell in love. Five years later we had that same catering company for our wedding!

This year we will celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and we are still inseparable, good friends. We have built a life together based on love, humor, trust and friendship. In 2006 Larkin joined our family bringing us to a new level of caring, responsibility, goofiness and sharing. We are having such a great time!

About Mitch
Mitch was born in Illinois and raised in Madison, Wisconsin. He was raised by his Mom and Dad and grew up with a younger sister Danielle and a cat named Grunt. Mitch's dad died when he was in high school. Mitch is very close to his Mom and sister.

Danielle has three little boys who Larkin adores. We see his family quite often and every summer grandma takes the entire family on a 4-day vacation so we can stay close with one another. Mitch loves sports and plays softball, tennis and soccer. He also enjoys getting together with his friends for fishing trips.

Mitch attended the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Today Mitch works as a Business Development manager for the produce division of a large transportation company. Mitch enjoys his job and one great perk is that he gets to bring home lots of new and unusual products like Grapples (grape + apple) and orange cauliflower.

AMBER SAYS, one of the best qualities about Mitch is that he is a very strong and passionate person. He is respectful, loyal, loving and affectionate. He is also a wonderful father! He loves spending time with Larkin and teaching her new things like writing her name and kicking the soccer ball. He has fun acting silly with her, but he is also strong about setting rules in the house.

About Amber
Amber is from the Twin Cities area and was raised by her mom and dad and grew up with one older and one younger sister. Amber is very close to her sisters. Her older sister Amy has two daughters near to Larkin's age. We like to visit them at their home in Boise, ID. Amber's younger sister Andrea lives nearby and just had a baby boy who Larkin loves to hold.

We like to do weekend get-a-ways at Amber's family's cabin where we spend time with friends and family. Amber likes to read and swim. She also plays tennis, cooks and is a member of a women's group that promotes volunteerism in our community.

Amber attended the University of Wisconsin - Madison and went on to get a Master's degree at The Ohio State University, and is a Marketing Manager for a large retail company. Her job is to help market and sell her company's products on the internet.

MITCH SAYS, one of Amber's best qualities is her determination to get things done. She is clever, caring, adventurous and devoted. She is also a very good mother. She loves spending time with Larkin riding bikes, braiding hair and coloring pictures. She loves listening to all of Larkin's silly stories and songs and is very patient with all of Larkin's questions.

About Larkin
Larkin's adoption story is very special. She was almost six months old when she joined our family. She was such a sweet baby girl. We spent the first few days getting familiar with each other and quite simply fell in love and became a family. Larkin is Mexican and was adopted through an agency in Texas. We did not have the opportunity to meet her birth parents, but we learned as much as we could about them.

In addition to bringing us the joys of parenthood, Larkin also brings a new culture for us to celebrate. She is a beautiful girl with a vibrant personality, an easy demeanor, a kind and empathetic way with babies and elderly people, and a hot little temper. She is tall, has an award-winning smile, will eat anything (even anchovies!) and is not shy at all!

MITCH & AMBER THINK, we have done a good job nurturing her along. She loves to read books with us and spends a lot of time looking at books on her own and telling us stories. She loves to sing her ABC's while we ride bikes and is getting really good at brushing her own teeth and getting herself dressed. She has very good manners and likes to be helpful. Her favorite thing these days is to get up early and "sneak" into our bed where we find her sound asleep when we wake up.

Our Home Life We live in a in a suburb of Minneapolis in a nice home we bought six years ago. We are about 15 minutes away from the city and about 5 minutes away from a nature preserve, a beach, parks & playgrounds, a ski hill and the club where we swim. Our community is a lot of fun. We have many neighborhood events from Farmers Markets to Easter Egg hunts.

We have spent the last 6 years turning our house into a lovely home. Amber's dad is a carpenter and has helped us do some remodeling. Shortly after Larkin joined our family we built a large den with windows along three sides. This is a room where Larkin keeps most of her toys and we can all be together listening to music, reading and creating art projects.
Our home has three bedrooms and we will turn our guest bedroom into a nursery. All of the bedrooms are on the same floor.

Our yard is our favorite part of our home and the reason we bought this house. It is very large, with small slopes and curves and lots of trees. It is fenced in for privacy and it's a nice relaxing place to hang out. We like to kick the soccer ball around and grill out on the patio and we even have a small fire pit to make s'mores.

Our house is at the end of a circle and is a great place for kids to ride bikes. We have a lot of nice neighbors and there are quite a few families with little children in the area.

We spend a lot of time together as a family. During the week we eat dinner together, go on bike rides (or ice skating in the winter) and play in our big yard. We have season tickets to the baseball team in town and go to the games with friends and family. Many weekends we head to Amber's family cabin to swim and ski or visit with friends. We like to travel and try to see the ocean and the mountains at least once a year. We have a neat group of friends we do lots of things with. They are a multi-cultural group consisting of friends from all over the world that help us celebrate Larkin's heritage as well as teach us about other places in the world. We also like to stay at home and play games or watch movies together.
Our Family, Friends and Traditions Family
We are very blessed to be so close to our families. Amber's parents and sister, Andrea live in town. Mitch's mom and sister, Danielle are just a short drive away. Amber's other sister Amy visits often and gives us a chance to visit the mountains where they live. We also spend time with our extended families on vacations and to celebrate birthdays and holidays.

Our families are very supportive of our plans to adopt and have welcomed Larkin with open arms and open hearts. She is a beloved granddaughter and a favorite cousin. Our families are thrilled that we are planning to expand our family through a second adoption.

Larkin was lucky to join our family when she did as she has 4 cousins close in age. We have recently had two more babies in the family so our next child will also have cousins their age.

Friends
We have a really neat group of friends. They range from artists, engineers, teachers, moms, dads, nurses and business people. They engage us in lots of different activities from strawberry picking, rock climbing, yard games, dinner parties and playing cards after the kids go to bed.

It has been fun to grow up with this group of friends over the years. We have been able to celebrate with each other marriages, new babies, promotions, house warming's and birthdays. They serve as an important support system for us and now that we all are starting families it is fun to watch our children play together.

Traditions
Celebrating the holidays with family is an important tradition for us. We rotate each Thanksgiving and Christmas between our two families. Amber's family spends time at the cabin and Mitch's family spends time at his Grandparents farm in Illinois. Thanksgiving is a special time for us as we celebrate our wedding anniversary and Larkin's Birthday! Our smaller family Christmas tradition includes picking out our Christmas tree and decorating it with ornaments we have collected over the years.

Every year in July we get together with Amber's family to celebrate the 4th of July. The very next weekend we get together with Mitch's family for a reunion. Every year Mitch's family votes on where to go so we get to visit lots of neat places.

Our family traditions that we have started include visiting the apple orchard every fall to pick apples and pumpkins. In the spring and summer we have family season tickets to the baseball games. In the winter we take a family vacation and usually try to head somewhere warm where we can play in the ocean. We also celebrate Larkin's heretage by incorporating Mexican traditions and holidays.
Our Wish as Parents Becomming parents through adoption has been the greatest blessing of our lives. Larkin has brought us more joy, love and happiness than we could have imagined. We are so excited to adopt another child into our family. We cannot wait to be parents again, and Larkin will make such a great big sister.

Our greatest wish as parents is that the children we raise will be happy and healthy. We will teach our children respect and kindness as well as the ABC's and how to kick a soccer ball. We will cheer them on as they grow in everything from their first step to getting their drivers license. We will support them as they develop their own personalities and begin to explore their heritage. We will guide them as they make important decisions and grow from babies into adults.

We are constantly striving to better ourselves as people, to strengthen our relationship with each other, and to grow in our roles as parents. We have great love and respect for each other which serves as a foundation for our family and provides the ability to be kind and loving parents. Our hope is that we give them all of the love, support and opportunities to grow into kind, loving adults who are accepting of others, fun to be around and happy. We wish to provide them with knowledge, adventure, education and new experiences that allow them to grow into the people they are meant to be.

Thank you for reading our story! We wish you the very best as you make your decision.

All our best,
Mitch, Amber & Larkin
