Matthew & Elizabeth are hopeful adoptive parents from Virginia waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

About Us We are Elizabeth and Matt. We respect your choice to consider an adoption plan for your child and are pleased that you have chosen to look at our profile. We realize that this is a very difficult decision you are facing and we hope that this profile gives you a glimpse into our lives and helps you come to a decision about your plans for your child.

We live in Virginia, outside of Washington, D.C., in a diverse community with good schools, libraries, and great activities for kids. We have a ten-year old dog, Cayley, a hound mix that we adopted from a local shelter. There are plenty of families with children and dogs in our neighborhood and we enjoy spending time with our neighbors and friends in our community.
Our Families Matt's parents, brother, sister-in-law, and two young nieces live in Indiana, along with his cousins and aunts and uncles. We visit them regularly. Our dog loves to run free on the family farm. Matt's parents have a great relationship with their two granddaughters and are looking forward to spending lots of time with our child.

Elizabeth is from a large family (she has 9 siblings) with everyone living in different parts of the country and overseas in Switzerland and Hong Kong. Between them all, there are 15 nieces and nephews. Because they are spread out so much, Elizabeth's family has regular reunions in Oregon near her mother's home. The reunions give everyone a chance to see each other and let the cousins spend lots of time hanging out and playing together. Everyone is looking forward to meeting our child at our next reunion.
Our Interests We are both very active and Cayley helps us stay that way. We enjoy taking her for excursions in the parks and forests in the greater Washington area. We enjoy swimming and kayaking and we hope to share those activities with our child. We are both readers and every room in our home has an overfilled bookcase. Matthew enjoys listening to music and playing computer games. Elizabeth does jigsaw puzzles with one of her close friends and has recently taken up knitting.
Raising a Child We believe that education is very important and we want to make sure that our child has the education necessary to do well in his or her chosen field. We each have a college degree and additional education, but we also appreciate other vocational options. Our goal for our child is that he or she have the training and experience necessary to live a happy and satisfying life.

We love kids and have spent countless hours with our nieces and nephews. Over the last several years, we have given a lot of thought about having a child. We believe that our child would grow up knowing that he or she is loved by us and our extended families and by the child's birth family. Open adoption is very important to us and we want to maintain some contact with you after the birth and adoption. We are eager to speak with you about the adoption process and about your cares and concerns for your child.
