Dear Birth Parents, We want to thank you for taking the time to consider us as adoptive parents to your child. Adoption is a noble, courageous, and unselfish step in your life that we know you did not reach easily. We hope that you have received much love and support during this difficult time. We want to assure you that your child will feel that great love of a family and be given every possible chance to have a rich and fulfilling life.

We are a loving couple named Dave and Laura. From the moment we first met at a mutual friend’s barbeque, wedding bells were ringing. After two years of dating, we married in Maui and are happily celebrating our 12th anniversary this year. Friends and family still look at us after all these years and comment that we really look like we’re in love. We are blessed to have each other and feel that our love grows stronger every day.

We have a great situation for raising a child. Laura is a stay at home mom and Dave runs our business from our home office. We can provide a loving home that is perfect in every aspect of raising your child. A child needs a loving and nurturing environment in which to grow and experience what life has to offer. We believe that we can provide just such an environment for your child. We will be your child’s biggest fan in everything that he/she does. We will also be there to love and comfort him/her when they are hurting—giving hugs, raspberries, and kissing boo-boos to make the pain go away.

Since Laura was an only child growing up she has always dreamt of having a large family where her children can share the love of siblings. She gets to see what a truly special bond it is to have that sibling relationship as she watches the boys grow up and can’t wait to give that amazing opportunity and gift to another child. Every child needs a fun loving family that becomes the rock in their life. We love to be adventurous and explore what life has to offer from trips to Disney World to playing outside in the rain. There are ups and downs in everyone’s life, but what makes everything better is to have a family that you can share your highs and a family that is there for you during your lows.

We have thought a lot about how to explain adoption to your child. Rest assured that we will present the situation as a loving gesture that was made out of your love for your child. Your child will know as much about you as you wish and we will keep you up to date with pictures and letters so you can watch your child grow and thrive.

Our Family Traditions We both believe that traditions are very important for children to experience and remember. We each have many fond memories of our childhood and the traditions we experienced.

Some of our traditions are centered on holidays and others are just around our day to day lives. One of our most frequent ones is our weekly cartoon day which is on Saturday. When we get up, we hop in the car and go get French toast sticks then pile in front of the TV to eat yogurt sticks, French toast sticks, and milk or juice. We make it a point not to crowd Saturday morning with chores, we just relax and play together.

We also have a slumber party usually once a month. We put mattresses on the floor, stay up late watching kid movies and eating ice cream. Then we fall asleep with the kids in our big make shift bed.

Of course Christmas is rich with tradition in our house as well. We celebrate the twelve days of Christmas with small gifts or special treats for the kids. Then on Christmas Eve, we have a special family fondue dinner and then go for a drive in our pajamas to look at Christmas lights.

Our House and Neighborhood We have been in our house for several years and can safely say that it is a kid paradise. It is an atrium ranch with all of the bedrooms on the same level. Our kids have themed bedrooms with custom paint jobs and a beach themed bathroom with a floor that looks like a boardwalk. We have toys stashed everywhere and the kids even have a big playroom right off the kitchen.

We have a fenced in backyard with a play set, play house, sand and water table, picnic table, and much more. In the summer, we inflate a large water park with wading pool and slide. We also have an indoor bounce house and a larger outdoor bounce house that the kids love.

Our neighborhood is great and has lots of kids. We are very active parents and our house becomes the central play area for lots of kids. We are in the back of a circle drive and feel it is a great place to raise a family.

Our neighborhood has several events each year. The most recent was a movie night at our house. We used a projector to show Wall-E on the garage door and all the kids in the neighborhood piled into sleeping bags on the driveway and ate popcorn and cotton candy.

What We Love About Being Parents One of the best parts of being parents is to see a smile on a child’s face and know that you helped to put it there. Maybe it is from something simple like an ice cream cone, or maybe it is from teaching them the value of accomplishing something they have worked hard for and have helped them whenever they needed it. Nothing beats hearing little ones giggle and laugh uncontrollably. Well, maybe watching them snuggle into bed with their favorite buddies and seeing the look of peace and content on their face knowing that they are safe and loved might beat the giggles. We don’t just like the idea of being parents, we love it. We feel like we are missing someone and can't wait to welcome another precious life into our family.
