Keith & Kristin are hopeful adoptive parents from Minnesota waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Blessings to you! Hello,

As a quick introduction, we are Keith, Kristin, Kameron & Konner. Before anything else, we want you to know how much respect and admiration we have for you during this tremendously difficult time as you decide whether to create an adoption plan or parent. We pray for you and your baby daily. We pray you are safe, supported, loved, and optimistic about your future and your baby’s future. We hope you feel God’s presence surrounding you and comforting you. We are both excited and overwhelmed about this entire process and truly can't wait to meet you.

We have always wanted a large family. We have two boys (biological) Kameron (10) and Konner (7). We continued trying to grow our family and lost two girls in that process. We took a long time praying about where to go from there. It was then Keith & I both mentioned we had been praying about open adoption. Adoption is a wonderful treasure for our family! God hides wonderful surprises throughout your life hoping you will pause, listen to Him and find them. We know now adoption has always been his plan for us. We are just so excited to feel his presence in this journey.

A bit on our history...and hopes for the future

We both grew up in small towns (Kristin in North Dakota and Keith in Minnesota) so we both have similar small town values and priorities which we still rely on daily. Our families still live in those towns so our kids also get to experience that rural, slower paced life on a regular basis which we love.

Keith and Kristin have known each other for over 20 years and have been married since 2000. We originally met at band camp as kids and have been friends throughout our lives. (And yes, we have heard all the "American Pie" jokes which we find hilarious. Especially since Kristin played the flute and Keith played the trombone!)

We really feel we were always meant to be together. We have lost connection and been brought together over the years so many times that it is too much to consider it coincidence. Our relationship goes much beyond that and we are proud to tell people that we really do complete one another. We go into every decision as a team and we balance each other. Keith is always the calming, even-keeled voice and I am the deadline driver in the family. The different perspectives really add to our ability to parent effectively.

Our families are incredibly excited about our decision to grow our family through the adoption. Our boys have wanted a sibling for a long time and are extremely vocal about that fact! The boys are at an age where they can start to get their heads around the idea of adoption and they are wholeheartedly excited and open to the idea. They have started to tell all their friends about it too. Our parents are bursting at the seams with pride not only talking about the child we will someday meet but they also talk about the wonderful woman who will make that decision and become part of our extended family.

Our promise to you...

Our lives have been forever changed with this adoption journey. We have met and talked to several expectant moms and have grown and learned to much from these amazing women. We remain friends with several of them even after their decision to parent. They literally have become our friends and part of our lives. Keeping the door open for that type of relationship with you would be our desire and dream! We would be absolutely honored if you were to consider us in your adoption plan process. If given the opportunity, we can’t wait to learn about you, your hopes and dreams for you and your baby and to hear what is most important to you in this adoption process. We believe open adoption is a lifelong journey and commitment. We want your baby to truly understand everything you have done for them and to always feel your love around them. We know God has a wonderful plan for you that you haven’t even imagined yet. No matter what you decide, follow your heart and you will be blessed.

All our love & blessings
Keith & Kristin

About us & our family Keith about Kristin...

Kristin is my best friend and a wonderful loving woman and mother. She nurtures the boys and she constantly teaches them about life, reads stories, and helps with their homework. Kristin is so selfless, always putting me and the boys ahead of her needs. She is the woman that was sent to me by God, his plan for me always included Kristin. She has made me a better man, husband and father.

Kristin about Keith...

Keith loves being a dad! He has an ability to listen and connect with kids in a way most adults cannot. He is the one always outside playing with the boys, so all the neighborhood kids come over – and he loves it! Keith is a loving man, a protector and provider both in the material and spiritual sense of the word. He is loyal, honest, and I thank God every day that he is in my life. I truly love him with my whole heart.

Kameron & Konner...

Kameron & Konner are both excited about adopting. They are gentle, loving boys and that is the thing we are most proud of overall. Kameron is our analyzer…he loves to read and is quite the debater! He loves football and of course video games. Konner is our family entertainer. He has a great sense of humor and loves to give compliments and HUGS! He likes to dress up in costumes (pirates, knights, or superheroes) and his favorite activities are gymnastics and Taekwondo. Their differing interests emphasize the fact we allow them to follow their own paths. It is important to us that they grow as individuals with their own opinions.

Our extended family...

Keith has 3 siblings and Kristin has one sister. All our family members live within 6 hours of one another (most live 90 minutes - 3 hours) so it makes family get togethers much easier and more frequent. We are both very laid back families. Lots of time spent outdoors or up at Kristin's parent's cabin (her sister also lives in the cabin next door). The kids are able to run, fish, tromp through the woods...and be independent. Our families enable the kids to become strong minded and strong in spirit. Faith is a huge part of all our lives and more than anything else we are there to love and support one another.
Our home & neighborhood We live in a close knit community on a cul-de-sac in the suburbs. The first time we drove down our street we had to go 5 mph because of all the kids and that won us over on the spot! We haven’t been a part of a community where the neighbors truly care about one another and look out for one another since we were kids. We are lucky to say this is now the place we have made our home. Our whole neighborhood is supportive of our plans to adopt and they are eagerly asking for ways they can help support the process.

Ok - so now let me give you more of a "detailed day to day scoop". Every morning all the moms walk out to the bus stop to wave goodbye to the kids as the bus drives away. It is our time to catch up on the last 24 hours. It is normal for moms to bring extra coupons for others, return borrowed items, ask how a child did on a test, offer to pick someones child up from an activity...or ask if you can pick their child up. It is also common to come home from a couple days out of town to find out someone has blown the snow out of your driveway! We help one another...we support one another. We truly want each of our children to be the best they can be and we model that in the way we treat each other. There are a LOT of kids in our neighborhood and they all get along.
Our parenting style & values We are firm believers in treating our children differently from each other. Each has their own strengths and their own way they like to be communicated to on a daily basis. We adapt to meet their needs and don't try to fit them into the same mold.

We will be the first to admit we expect a lot out of our kids in terms of respect for others. One of the biggest compliments we have received is every year our teachers always tell us they can pair Kameron & Konner with any child in the room for activities. They can be friends with anyone. They don't judge and in fact, they are very vocal when they see other children mistreating a child or being mean to them. I am proud that we are helping guide them and empower them to stand up for themselves and others.

Our values always come in the same order...Faith, Family, Fun...then everything else. We are actively involved in our church and our kids LOVE going! We have been with our church since we were a few people meeting in a school cafeteria. We consider these wonderful people an extension of our family. They are all praying for you and for our adoption process as well...you have lots of people who think you are amazing and I find it wonderful that we feel so much emotion and love for you even though we haven't met yet.

Family is the key to everything. We try to have dinner together as may nights per week that we can. We rarely eat out - it is important to us to eat around our own table. It gives us a chance to talk about our days and our upcoming plans...but to be honest the boys usually like to talk about their days most when we are snuggling before bed (I'm sure it is a stall tactic :-)

Fun - life is too serious most of the time. I don't want our kids to grow up too fast. I don't want to tell them to stay out of the mud or worry about whether they got Cheetos on their homework. I want them to experience the more carefree life we remember from our childhoods. We frequently are goofy with the kids (singing odd songs or making sure we are right in the mix when they start to make strange faces). We just want to make sure they feel loved and safe to be themselves.

Thank you again for taking time to learn a bit about us. Once again, our prayers are with you and we think about you all the time. We hope to get a chance to get to know you better soon.
