About Us Hello! We are Michael and Megan from Michigan. We think that our relationship started with a “good morning” greeting and a smile. We met while both working summer jobs during college. It was the summer of 2000 and Megan had just started her first day as a beverage cart girl at a local golf course. Michael had been working at the course for about two years in the pro shop. Michael walked by Megan, thought she was cute and said, “good morning.” As they say, the rest is history. We have been happily married for almost four years.

Almost immediately after marrying we decided that we were anxious to begin our family. However, another plan was laid out for us. After three years of infertility treatments and rounds of IVF, we are turning to adoption to build our family. Although we were devastated to learn each time that we were unsuccessful in having a baby, we feel that the experiences only solidified our marriage and our commitment to each other. We have so much love and compassion for each other and we cannot wait to share our love and values with a child.

Our Lifestyle We love to do any activity by the water. We both enjoy boating, while Michael likes it for the fishing aspect and Megan likes it more for the sun bathing with a good book aspect. We love relaxing at the family cottage year round, taking bicycle rides around the lake and just enjoying being together with friends, family and each other. We also love going to concerts and we usually have music playing in our home. Although we have separate interests as well, one of our favorite activities is to travel! We have been very fortunate to travel all over the world taking in different cultures, foods and making friends around the globe. Our favorite destinations so far have been Amsterdam, Ireland, and Hawaii.

We are thrilled that Megan will be able to stay at home with our child. One of her favorite childhood memories is when her mom (who also stayed at home) took her out to breakfast every Tuesday morning for “Mommy and Megan time”. It was a memorable time for the two of them. Michael has similar memories with his mom and looks forward to establishing an extraordinary bond with our child.

Our Thoughts on Each Other Michael on Megan

Megan is such a strong, nurturing, amazing woman. She is also absolutely hilarious. She has the ability to make me laugh like no one else. Megan loves spending time with her family and friends and has a knack for making each person in her life feel important to her and loved. She is a fantastic cook and loves entertaining. I feel like Megan is so strong because through all of the infertility struggles and the eventual devastation, she always remained optimistic that we would one day have a family. She is affectionate and playful and is going to be a fantastic mother.

Michael is the best husband a girl could hope for. He has such a warm and generous spirit. Everyone in his life knows that they can count on Michael. He is such a courageous, loving and honest person. He is creative and loves playing the piano each night for me while I prepare dinner. Michael is going to be a fantastic father. He shows everyone in his life how much he loves them by the way he treats each person with respect and affection. He is most looking forward to teaching our child about how to have respect and compassion for others less fortunate and to give back to the community. Giving back to your community is an important lesson he learned from his Dad and one he is anxious to pass on. It is a big reason why he opened up his business in his hometown.
