Congratulations!
We've Adopted a Girl.
Welcome!
We are glad you found us and hope you will enjoy browsing through our letter, pictures and other pages. We know your choice will not be an easy one and hope this glimpse into our lives and hearts will help. We have come up with a little poem to express our thoughts on adoption and hope that you will consider starting on this journey with us.

The Adoption Journey
One is seeking for a family to raise her little girl or boy,
The other hopes to be a Mom and Dad, oh what a joy.
Each will travel on some busy streets where options crowd the view,
And also down some lonely roads while wondering what to do.
Each will keep traveling the path that they are on,
Hoping to find one another before too far along.
Each prayer and dream will then be answered; clouds of questions will finally lift,
Two families will be brought together, because of a birth mom’s precious gift.
This may be the destination for some, a new beginning it will be for others,
But rest assured this child will never lack for love because it has two mothers!
Our Story
How We Found Happily Ever After
We were introduced through mutual friends at a get-together. Blaine lived in Alberta, Canada and I lived in Montana, so we dated long distance for a couple of years. Our love grew with each mile we traveled and the precious time we spent with one another as often as we could.
Once we were married, we decided to move to Washington to begin our new life together. We bought our first house and have enjoyed adding many personal touches to make it our very own. We enjoy spending time in our large fenced backyard reading in the hammock, barbecuing, gardening, or playing Frisbee or croquet. Our children’s education was also a priority in searching for our home. We look forward to walking our children to elementary school as it is just down the street. We love the quiet, safe neighborhood we live in and can’t wait to start our family here.
We recently celebrated our 6th anniversary and remain madly in love with one another. We still enjoy spending as much time with each other as possible and cannot wait for the opportunity to embark on the journey of parenthood together. We are truly ready to be a Dad and Mom!
Our Hobbies
One of the reasons we love spending time together is that we have so much in common. We love to be outdoors and especially like hiking, camping, playing sports (like volleyball), and building snowmen. We also like it when we get to be cozy indoors (usually during those wet, grey days of winter) and enjoy playing games, reading by the fire, designing and building gingerbread houses, or entertaining friends.
Blaine also enjoys skating, keeping up on the local sports teams, and sketching plans for our house and yard, while I love to scrapbook, bake, and am starting to get into photography of animals and children.
What We Do For A Living
Blaine works for a civil engineering firm in their waterfront development division and loves being in such a neat field. Because of his work, he has explored some interesting and unique areas of the Puget Sound. His company is completely employee owned and places an extra emphasis on balancing family and work which is great as well.
I am currently working as a clinical dietitian. I enjoy my profession because I get to help people every day. I plan on only working part-time once we adopt so I can spend as much of my time as possible fulfilling my dream of just being a Mom!
Our Families
We have both come from large, close knit families that love spending time with each other. Blaine has a twin sister and a younger brother and I have three older sisters. Between both of our families, we now have 14 (and counting) nieces and nephews. We love the special bond we share with each and every one and the great experiences and memories created when we visit.
About Each Other
“Blaine is the most wonderful husband and remains my perfect soul mate. Because of his easy going disposition, he is a friend to all. He always has a positive outlook on life and his sense of humor makes every day fun and entertaining. I know he will make a fabulous Dad because he is so patient and understanding. Kids are naturally drawn to him no matter where he is. He loves playing games, building train tracks, and reading stories with our nieces and nephews. For these types of activities, no other Uncle will do. They think Blaine is positively the best, and I do too!” - Wendy
“Wendy is the most thoughtful, kind person I know. I love how supportive and helpful she is not only with me, but with all our family and friends as well. She is so much fun to be around and is great with all of our nieces and nephews. She loves planning special activities for them when we visit like tie-dying shirts (messy but fun), making a Christmas train cake (with each one decorating a railroad car), or making home-made ice cream together.
She also has a very caring personality. She rescued our cat when he was just a few weeks old. She loves to spend time with him and he usually comes running when he hears her car pull up in front of our home. I’m more thankful each day to have Wendy as my wife and in my life. She is my trusted companion, supporter, helper, and best friend. I know that she will make a great Mom!” - Blaine
