Robert & Karin are hopeful adoptive parents from Virginia waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

About Us Our Dear Friends,
Our hearts and prayers are with you during this difficult decision you are making. We are grateful you have chosen adoption and that you are looking at our profile. We are so excited to get to know you and want to tell you a little about ourselves.
We met in 2004 Washington DC. Bob was attending law school and Karin was working for the Federal Government. We became best of friends and sometimes even “dating coaches” for each other. We spent lots of time together and then one day we kissed. It was kind of an accident, and a little scary, but we realized that while being “just friends” we had developed a deep love for each other. After a little while Bob proposed and in the spring of 2008 we were married. We have never looked back and love sharing our life together. We have a lovely home in Virginia and we love living in our Nation’s Capital.
We have always wanted children, and were surprised when we could not get pregnant. But then, and maybe for this reason, we had discussed adoption before we even got married. We both have family and friends who adopted and knew the joy it brings to peoples life. We know we can love your child with all of our hearts.
I’m afraid we are your typical nerds. We love to travel and visit anything from national parks, to museums, to beautiful old houses and everything in between. We like going plays, concerts, the opera, and anything like that we can find tickets too. One of our favorite things to do is to each grab a book and read together. We enjoy watching lectures and documentaries on TV and discussing what we have learned, regardless of the topic. Karin is learning calligraphy and Bob enjoys astronomy. He has a great telescope we get out on a clear night to look at the moon, stars and planets. On our not so nerdy side, we are both scuba certified. We even convinced Bob’s parents to become certified so we could all dive together. We enjoy working on our house. Karin planted tomatoes and strawberries this year. The tomatoes were a hit, and the ant’s got all the strawberries. She’s planning on expanding the selection next year. We also love spending time with our extended family, especially for the holidays. Each year we have a big Christmas Eve party, and last year we played Christmas Wheel of Fortune. Karin has three brothers, three sisters and 14 nieces and nephews. Bob has 4 brothers, one niece and two nephews.
About Bob from Karin Bob is truly one of the kindest people I have ever met. He is always doing nice things. The evening my grandfather passed away he brought me a chocolate covered strawberry to make me feel better. It was silly and special all at the same time. Bob is a planner, he has all of our finances in order so that he can take care of us and provide for us. He loves to study, especially archaeology and history as it pertains to the Bible. He even learned Latin and Greek just so he could read the Bible in those languages. Bob is also a tease. He has this wonderful ability to make me laugh when I’m mad or angry. I have never heard him say an unkind word to me in all the years I have known him. I have watched him play with our nieces and nephews and I just know he will make a great Dad.
About Karin from Bob Karin embodies the love of the Savior. She is very selfless. I first decided to develop a friendship with her because I noticed how taking care of others was more important to her than simply working to build up herself. I gradually came to love her because she reminded me more and more of my own mother and her Christ like qualities. Karin has managed to accomplish a lot professionally, but her greatest goal and aspiration is to become a mother. It has been painful for me to watch her sadness, when this opportunity never came to her after we got married. Karin comes from a large family and with that has come a great enthusiasm to create in our home the same joy, excitement, and sense of adventure that she enjoyed as a child. Karin’s goodness and devotion has blessed my life, the life of her family, and will one day be a tremendous blessing to her children.
What We Believe We believe families are made through lots of time spent together, through laughing, through sharing experiences, and through living a virtuous life. We are so excited to do these things with a child and to love and spend time with them. Karin is going to be a stay at home mom and is looking forward to making cookies, singing songs, and helping with homework. Bob is looking forward to going on outings and reading together. We are open to sharing pictures, sending letter, creating a blog, and just talking together to help you before and after the adoption. We promise to rear your child in a home filled with all the love we possess and to create for them an environment where they can blossom. We will help them to learn both with the heart and mind. We hope and pray you will consider us as you make your decision. Most importantly we pray the spirit of the Lord will guide you.
