Welcome to Our Family! We are Matt and Shawna, and we are excited about growing our family through adoption. We are currently a family of three with our daughter, Hadley. We would love to welcome another child to share our lives. We have an abundance of love to give and have great support from family and friends to help us welcome another child. Thank you for taking the time to view our profile and consider us as possible parents for your child.

Getting to Know Our Family: We are a family that enjoys spending time together. We love spending time with friends over meals and playing games with our families. We also go to church as a family and participate in several activities such as MOPs (mothers of preschoolers) and Sunday school. Matt and Hadley have a special bond over donuts on a few Saturday mornings, while Shawna and Hadley like to go on walks with other moms and children. We also enjoy going to the library to pick out new books to read together, and the park to play bocce ball or other games. Another way we spend time together is by getting together with our families for barbeques, game nights, or holiday traditions.

Family is very important to us, and we are both blessed to enjoy close relationships with our parents. Shawna’s parents live in the area, and we see them often. Matt’s parents live a few hours away, but we visit each other regularly and enjoy a good relationship with them despite the distance. We have six brothers between the two of us, but none of them have children of their own yet. That means that our parents will be thrilled to have a second grandchild to adore! The grandparents love to spend time with Hadley doing special activities and outings such as the zoo, the children’s museum, or just spending quality time at home. We also enjoy getting together with our extended families throughout the year, including grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins on both sides of the family.

"Matt is a loving and creative person. He always makes us laugh, and he is a wonderful comforter in difficult times. Matt is a caring, patient, and honest husband and father. He has a great relationship with Hadley and can often be found teaching her to ride her tricycle or pretending to be a pirate as he and Hadley search for buried treasure. Matt enjoys working with computers as a software engineer for a large, international company. Matt is a hard worker, and he takes providing for our family seriously. In his free time, Matt likes to watch movies, go skiing, and watch football (especially when the Seahawks are winning). We are so blessed to have him in our family! Parenting together as partners with Matt has been a wonderful experience, and I know he will be a great father to another child!"

Matt Says:
"Shawna is a caring wife and nurturing mother. She loves to spend time with friends and family, is an avid reader, and likes to bake delicious desserts. Helping others is a big priority to Shawna. She spends time volunteering with our church youth group, and is always there for friends who need someone to talk to. She is a patient and gracious mother to Hadley, and is always focused on helping her grow physically, mentally and spiritually. Shawna was previously a middle school teacher and she has a wonderful love of learning that she is working to pass on to Hadley. She reads books to Hadley throughout the day, and is constantly working with her on reading, writing and math activities. In addition to educational pursuits, she also makes sure that Hadley gets plenty of hugs, kisses, and mommy time."


Our daughter, Hadley, is an outgoing and active three-year-old who brings great joy to our lives. She loves to draw, read stories, pretend, sing, and dance. She also loves her gymnastics class once a week and will show anyone her somersault! She is very excited about a new baby brother or sister and often talks about wanting to teach them things and help take care of a new baby. Hadley is excited about being a sister, and we feel that she will be a loving sibling.
