Our Story Thank you for choosing adoption. We feel truely grateful to be considered as potential adoptive parents. We have always had a strong desire to have a family and to raise children.
We are John and Tami, a happily married couple who longs to share our love with children. We met in 2000 through a mutual friend at James Madison University. We began dating and soon realized how much we were drawn to each other. We are both hard working, dedicated, physically active and love to have fun. We fell in love and were married in May 2003. Our love of science and passion for working with people is what drove the two of us to pursue careers in medicine. Today, our careers provide us with such joy as we help improve the quality of our patient’s lives. John went to dental school followed by a specialized residency in pediatrics. He loves working with children and is honored to take care of them. Tami pursued a carrier in medicine and specialized in ophthalmology which allows her to have a career with a flexible work schedule to have plenty of time for a family. We both share the same values and believe that family comes first.
Once we had established our careers, we focused on starting a family. We have supported each other through the challenges of infertility for more than four years. Although it was difficult, the experience has strengthened our marriage and given us time to think about what being a parent really means to us. After a lot of reflection and prayer, we realized that growing our family through adoption is the right choice for us in our dream of building our family.

John through Tami’s Eyes John is an amazing person and one day he will make an amazing father. We have experienced many challenges over the 12 years that we have been together. Through the difficulties of medical school, residency, and infertility, John has always been supportive and positive. He is my rock. When I am stressed or worried, he is relaxed and calm and is able to help me through any situation. He is a fantastic role model. He dreams big and then he’s able to makes it happen. He amazes me at what he can accomplish and what he can help me accomplish. He is funny and witty and always makes me smile and laugh. He loves children and as a Pediatric Dentist, he enjoys working with them each and every day. He is capable of making them feel at ease even in the most difficult situations. His patients and their parents love and trust him. Outside of work, he is a wonderful chef and he makes fabulous romantic dinners but he also loves to smoke ribs in the back yard for the neighbors. He enjoys rooting for his favorite football team as well as watching many other sports and the occasional cooking show. He likes playing golf, hiking, and biking along with exercising at the gym. He is my best friend and I am so lucky to have him as my husband.

Tami through John’s Eyes Coming home to Tami is the best part of my day and has been for over nine years. The type of woman that can charm anyone, Tami's warm smile and energetic personality make her truly special. Falling in love with her was the easiest thing, while marrying her was the smartest thing I've ever done.
After twelve years together I've come to know my best friend with a love and passion deeper than I've ever imagined. There are so many qualities about her but let me leave you with just a few. Tami is a people person. Whether it be the youngest of children, or an elderly patient or family member, Tami's warm heart and compassionate soul bring out the best in everyone. Always putting the needs of others first, my beautiful wife is a model of grace, a loving and supportive friend, and an excellent physician.
Through our marriage we've experienced great joy, and at times equally great sorrow. But our victories have been greater and our defeats softer simply by being together. In her free time, Tami is just as energetic as she is at work. Always looking to have fun and stay active, she loves to run, swim, bike and participate in fitness classes. Tami is an avid reader and loves a good mystery novel. My wife is loving, kind, energetic and full of life. I look forward to each and every day with her.

We recently moved to a beautiful neighborhood and live in a five bedroom home with a large back yard. Our neighborhood is just a few blocks from the highest rated elementary and high school in the area. The neighborhood has multiple playgrounds and a large community pool. The bus stops are overflowing children and on the weekends there are many lemonade stands along with children on bikes, scooters and skateboards cruising the streets. We are a pet friendly family and have two spoiled rotten dogs, Bella and Dexter. They too love children and adore getting petted and giving kisses to all the children we meet on our walks.
We have both been blessed with great families. John's parents live in town and we love to visit with them for weekend brunch or dinner. John has one sister, Alanna who is recently married and we spend time with her and her husband, Mike as often as possible. We are all really close and it is great when everyone can get together. Tami's family lives out of town but she communicates with them often. Luckily, they are able to visit regularly and we enjoy getting together not only on holidays but several other times during the year. Tami has one sister, Heidi who is married to Eddie and they have two children, Henry and most recently, Kevin. We enjoy playing with our nephews and taking them to the petting zoo. Their presence has served to strengthen our desire to grow our own family.
