Soccer season just wrapped up! It was a ton of fun and both Brandt and Trent enjoyed it. They both had good coaches that emphasized having fun, which is important to us.
The kids have also been involved in Piano lessons (Brandt gave his first public performance!), Gymnastics (Suzanna is loving it), and Cub Scouts (we took 2nd place in the Pinewood Derby!!!). Rebecca feels like she is an official "Soccer Mom"!

We decided to take a drive into the nearby hills to enjoy the snow up there. It was a lot of fun, and afterwards we came home and had hot chocolate to warm up (of course!)

We had a good friend come over and take several pictures, hoping to get a good one we could use for the Christmas Card we send out to family and friends. This is the one we picked out!

Today was the Christmas Tree Hunt! We went out and found the perfect Christmas Tree. It is not as tall as we typically find, but the shape is perfect! Now to decorate it!

What a good looking picture! :-)
Wow, summer has come and gone, and we are into autumn!
It has been quite a busy few months with school starting for the boys, a combined home-school Pre-K with five other families for Suzanna, and several other projects, including producing a TV show about adoption for local cable TV!
My job now allows me to work from home on Mondays and Fridays - It is going well and I enjoy the extra time with the kids!

OK, we are putting in this entry just to have an excuse to put in this fun picture - Todd & Trent & Suzanna waiting at the school bus stop for the bus to come. Todd likes to take Trent to the bus stop - it is a fun "hang-out with dad" time.

OK - time to add several overdue journal entries, and a few thoughts here. It has been a fun-filled spring, with trips to Grandmas house, visiting with cousins, projects around the house, visits to the Zoo and Museum of Science. We feel amazingly grateful for the fun memories we build with our children. We hope to be able to add more children to our family, and we know that it will happen when the Lord knows it's right. In the meantime we enjoy being parents and remain hopeful for more "wonderful children" to enter our lives.

Here is a family tradition we came up with about a year ago. Part of the Birthday celebration is to have a "silly string" fight! This was Trent's Birthday!

We took a trip to see Grandma, the weather was overcast and rainy, but we had fun anyway. We took a ferry boat ride just for the fun of it! The kids loved watching the cars load and unload, the docking process, and getting blown around in the wind!

Christmas at Grandma's House... Nothing could be better! What a wonderful time to be together with family. Grandkids running all around the house, Grandma baking treats non-stop, and all the parents telling stories about their kids and laughing until our sides hurt.
It snowed the next day, so we went out and had a snowball fight and built snowmen - I'll post the pictures after I get them downloaded from the camera.
Even though Christmas Day has passed, it will still be a busy holiday season. Our anniversary is coming up, a niece is getting married, and there are several family birthdays in January.

Well, it has been six weeks since our profile went live, and a lot has happened. We spent two weeks in Utah, visiting family, friends, and going to the Shakespearean Festival. It was a great trip. In addition to the festival, we also spent time with some friends that have a cabin above Sundance. It was beautiful up there. We also were able to spend an evening with the birth family of our two younger children.

We have started receiving contacts from birthmothers interested in learning more about us. The calls and e-mails are always exciting - the rest of the world stops, and we focus everything on that conversation - we were anxious to learn about them, and hope they felt comfortable talking with us as well.

The trip to Utah was our last big travel adventure before I went back to work and we started settling back into our normal life, but we still have found time for fun, going to the beach, spending time at the family property, swimming, and playing at home. Next up is school, which starts in just over 2- weeks!

Wow, what a busy summer this has been, and it is only 1/2 over! Todd is off from work almost all summer (until August 1st - paid sabbatical) so we have been very busy visiting friends and family and having fun. The pictures in the album show snipets of many of the adventures we have had. We started with a week in Disneyland, followed by a week at a mountain resort (canoeing, cycling, swimming, etc), and a week in Northern California visiting family. We also spent a week with Todd's mother in Washington and will be spending 2 weeks with family and friends in Utah - whew! A very busy and very fun summer. In the midst of it all, we know that our family is not complete yet, and so we have been working anxiously to get this website complete so we can be found by a birthparent that thinks we are the perfect family for their child. We have just now finished all the elements for this site - this being the final portion - we are excited and anxious all at the same time!
