This has been a very hard weekend for us. John had to have a wisdom tooth pulled. Ouch!

Also, our dog, Duncan, passed away. We loved him dearly and will miss him. We have decided to wait a little while before getting a new dog, but we will get one. As John often says, "Boys need a dog."

Where has this month gone? We've been so busy.

Fall is my favorite season. I love it when the leaves change color and fall from the trees. As I am typing I can hear the acorns hitting the driveway. The front door is open and a wonderful fall breeze is coming into the living room. This kind of weather makes me feel like baking. I also start thinking about holidays...Halloween, Thanksgiving, and then Christmas. My family has already exchanged names and I've been looking for the perfect gift for my youngest sister. (I got her name, don't tell her that though.)

Only 86 days till Christmas...

Ever feel like you just can't get anything right. Today is one of those days for me. I have been trying to get things done, but haven't accomplished anything. I am frustrated. Even during Scotty's nap time, a time which is usually pretty productive for me has been useless. UGHHH!

I'm glad my family is visiting this weekend. I love them so much. It will be so good to see them.

Love is so important. As the song goes "what the world needs now is love sweet love. It's the only thing that there's just too little of."

At church today there were so many moms with their precious little babies. I had two very strong feelings. The first was an overwhelming gratitude for my son, Scotty, and the birthmother who chose us to be his parents. The second was a twinge of jealousy. John and I love being parents and look forward to having more children. Scotty would love to have younger siblings. He is so sweet and caring.

There is a song that goes "the waiting is the hardest part." That is so very true. There isn't much else our family can do, unless you know a birthmother who'd choose us. Know anyone?

We pray you are happy and healthy.

Today was hard. I'm not exactly sure why, but I haven't felt right all day. we checked in on family and everyone is ok. I don't know why I've felt so uneasy all day. I wish I could figure out why.

I hope all is well for you. I pray you are happy and healthy.

Our phones are working. We'd love to get a call.

I love to make homemade food. We made three kinds of jam just a few weeks ago, strawberry, raspberry and peach. We are planning to can spaghetti sauce on Labor Day weekend. My parents are coming to play with Scotty so I can get the tomatoes and other vegetables ready and cooked and put the sauce into jars and can it. I'm really excited. I love to make things myself for my family. I also love to see my parents.

I would drop everything if we got a call from a birthmother. Before Scotty joined our family, we waited over 4 years. I'm hoping we don't have to wait so long this time.

Struck by Lightening! Can you believe it? Our telephone pole was struck by lightening on Sunday. We are so grateful it wasn't the house. We don't have any phone service right now, so anyone wants to call us, you need to use the cell number listed. Our 800 number and house phone were taken down. It will be several more days before we will be able to get 800 calls.

I'm really excited that we will be going to PA for John's family reunion. It is a reunion for his mother's family. We will be staying with my parents and traveling to the reunion on Saturday, so Scotty will get to see both sets of grandparents. My sister and her family will be at my parents as well. We get to see lots of family this weekend. We are so excited.

We're so thankful for blessings! Hope you are blessed, too.

Wow, the summer has been going fast. Time flies when you're having fun. We're busy projects at the house and spending time with friends and family. We've been enjoying the summer.

We have a family reunion for John's family the second weekend in August. We're excited to spend time with some cousins we don't get to see as often as we'd like.

Today we are thankful for yummy fresh peaches, right off the tree. I love visiting the local farmers market for fresh produce in the summer.

Hope you're enjoying the summer, too.

Yesterday my sister, brother-in-law, and nephew came to visit. Today we went to Sesame Place. Scotty loved spending the day with family, but I think he enjoyed seeing Elmo, Cookie Monster, and the rest of the Sesame Place crew more. We have also learned that he loves the water. He had so much fun splashing in the kiddy area of the water park.

I liked the rubber ducky ride. We were on a six person innertube, my sister, nephew, and I. It felt like we were being flushed down the toilet. It was so much fun, but my favorite part was was watching Scotty enjoy himself.

Here's to water fun on hot summer days.

We went to the Liberty Science Center with friends today. It was so much fun. We also saw the IMAX film about the Alps. It was spectacular. The mountains were beautiful. Scotty especially liked the hands on exhibits. It was great to watch him enjoy himself.

More summer fun to come. Hope your summer is going well.

We visited the Maryland Zoo with my sister today. It was so much fun. Scott loves animals. Here is a photo of John and Scott in front of the hippos. You can't see the hippos, they were too far off in the distance, but we got to see them. We had great fun as a family.

My parents came to visit this weekend. We had a lot of fun with them. My mom loves to shop, so we visited several of her favorite places. Scotty was thrilled to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa.

My parents and youngest sister are visiting this weekend. We love to have them come visit. Scotty loves his grandparents and auntie. My mom showed me how she bakes bread, six loaves at one time. It is a lot of work, but what yummy results. Well, gotta get back to the fun.

We hope you had a happy Memorial Day. We have a great deal of respect for those who have served in the military to protect our country and the rights we have here in the U.S. My parents came to visit for the weekend. My youngest sister came, too. We had great fun. They love to see Scott. He keeps getting taller. He's had a little cold, so he is on medication, but that didn't even slow him down. We had great fun. We're looking forward to visiting my youngest sister and going to the zoo in a few weeks.

I've never been a big fan of Mother's Day. When I was going through all the infertility treatments, I felt inadequate and annoyed that there had to be a day dedicated to making me feel so miserable.

I can't imagine how a birth mother must feel on Mother's Day. It must be very difficult to be faced with so many decisions. I can't imagine how hard it must be to see people celebrating motherhood.

All I know is that I would not be able to be called mother if it weren't for a wonderful birth mother who entrusted John and I with the marvelous little boy who is my son. I will forever be grateful to that woman.

I believe that all women who influence our lives should be celebrated on this day. With this in mind, I wish all women a Happy Mother's Day.

This evening Michelle and I went to a fund raiser for the Young Women of our church. They had a nice dinner and baby sitting and then they auctioned off donated deserts. Michelle donated two different deserts, Strawberry Brownies and Sugar cookies. It was a nice evening with Michelle and I am glad we were able to help them afford to send all of the girls to camp. We were seated with two other families from the congregation and had a great time.
