Dustyn & Kamieprofile id #19448
Wow, I haven't posted in awhile! :) Sometimes it seems like life gets so busy! But it has been a good busy! I am so excited for spring! I love being outside and working hard to accomplish things that have been waiting all winter for me to get to! :) I find a lot of motivation in the spring to get things done! And I love that feeling! We have been doing a lot of spring cleaning, painting (in my lil bro's room), playing, tending, cooking, and bike riding! It has been great! And it's just the beginning of WARM weather! Yay!
We had a great Easter weekend. My (Kamie) nieces and nephews were down for a week - so we played a lot. We went on picnics, had egg hunts, went to the park, baked cookies and played a LOT of games. It was fun to see them and spend time with them.
On Saturday, Dustyn, my dad and I went out boating and fishing. It was so much fun! YAY!! SO EXCITED FOR SPRING!!!!
On Sunday, we went to Dustyn's mom's house and had a great dinner! We played with his nieces and nephews and played more games.
What a great week we have had!
Hope all is going well for you and that you had a fabulous Easter!

Wow! I can't believe that January is already over! Crazy! We had a great month! Dustyn and I celebrated our 4th Anniversary. We had a weekend away and relaxed. It was very nice!
Things have been really good for us! It's been a cold winter and has been snowing a lot. We are excited for Spring! Yay!! But a few more month or winter will do. :)
This weekend Dustyn and I are going to go see the Blue Man Group! I am super excited. We'll update with pictures soon! :)
We had a fabulous Christmas! We spent a lot of time with family eating, playing games and enjoying each others company! It's my most favorite time of year! Dustyn and I are game people... so we played LOTS of games!
We can't believe the year is almost over! It has been a great year. We have met a lot of wonderful people and spent time with lots of old friends. We have done quite a bit of traveling and learned a lot of new things. We have especially learned a lot on our road to adoption this year. We look forward to next year! We are excited to see what is in store for our little family. We anxiously await the arrival of a little one!
We hope your holiday season was wonderful and full of fun!

Today we had my (Kamie) dad's side Family Christmas Party. It was a lot of fun. Almost all of my relatives were there. There were quite a few that I hadn't seen in quite awhile! That is what I love about the holidays! I love spending time with our families.
Dustyn's family is having a Christmas Party in a few weeks. I am really excited. All of the kids bring a different kind of soup and we have a potluck soup/bread bowl party! YUM! I haven't decided what kind of soup that I am going to make yet. I have so many favorites! hmmm.... makes me hungry just thinking about it! YUM!
I am SO excited for the holiday season! Dustyn's family had their Thanksgiving on Sunday. It was so much fun! There was a LOT of good food and it was so great seeing everyone!
Hope your holiday season is full of Joy and Happiness!
Its Friday the 13th, rumored to be an unlucky day. I just think its another day to keep going. It sure is hard to keep my spirits high when not a lot happens. Of course I'm sure there is a lot happening in God's eyes. I wish I understood His plan a little better. But I guess that would mean I wouldn't need the faith, hope, and trust that I am building in him.
I suppose that is the main thing He wants us to learn in this adoption process. Maybe, just maybe He is trying to teach us how to be better parents.
So up to this point Kamie has pretty much been leading us on the adoption journey. She has explained to me what we need to do, she has been the one that set us up on with Parent Profiles, except for the parts that I needed to do, and she even started asking question that lead us to adoption. Thats not to say that I didn't want to start the adoption process or that I am being passive about it completely. But I feel like I need to be more involved, and I'm sure Kamie would enjoy that too.
I decided to get more involved by starting with a journal entry.
Kamie and I have just been plugging away at life trying to keep things a little less than complicated. It seems so easy to get frustrated and give up hope during this process. But as Kamie puts it: we need to remain "optimistically hopeful" during this process. And I guess she is right. We need to keep hope. I know that God is watching over us and is helping us through all of our challenges. I guess I am just trying to follow Kamie's advice and stay "optimistically hopeful" by writing this entry.
I'll write some more later.

It's almost April and it has been cold and wintery in our valley. We have had snow flurries for the past few days. My sister and her kids made a Snow Family in the Snow. They had enough snow stick to make snowmen.
Dustyn went to Arizona for a few days for school. They are trying to build the Native American program in our school district so he went to give a presentation on the program.
Things are going well for us. We hope all is well with you and your family.

Today Dustyn, Bruce and I went fishing at one of the near by lakes. it was a lot of fun. We didn't catch anything, but we didn't try very hard. It was just nice to sit in the sun and relax. Bruce enjoyed the water and just being able to be out and to run around. We took out camp stove and made dinner and just enjoyed our Saturday. It was really nice.

This last weekend we went to the International Sportsman Expo. it was a lot of fun and we saw a lot of cool things. This is a picture of Dustyn standing in front of a nice Ford GT racing car. It was pretty fancy! They had a dutch oven cook off and all kinds of fishing seminars and such. It was very informational!
We are so excited for SPRING! :) Today we started raking our yard and getting all the leaves and twigs left over from fall cleaned up. It so fun to be able to go outside and spend time in the daylight! We even had dinner outside. Yah for Picnics! Then we went and bought some strawberries, rhubarb and red onions to plant. Then we planted some seeds for a hanging plant for our porch. Now hopefully we will keep the warm weather for awhile! (rain is fine, but no more snow (even though I do love snow, but not in the spring!))
Hope you are having and enjoying warm weather!
We had a great weekend. We went to Cedar City to go to my friends baby's blessing. We went to lunch with some other friends, so it was fun to see everyone and catch up on things. We also went to St. George. It was nice and warm there. We even had to turn the A/C on in the truck. We spent the day wondering and shopping. it was a nice relaxing weekend. But it's also nice to be back home.
Things are going well for us. Dustyn is just finishing up his thesis for his masters today in order to turn it into his professors tomorrow! It's been a little bit stressful this week, but he's almost done. It will be a great relief to know that he is finished tomorrow. Then he will be completed with his Masters. I am excited for him and I am sure that he is excited to be finished and maybe relieve some stress! But what will he do with all his free time?
Hope everthing is going well for you!
Happy Valentines Day!!
We had a good night. We decided to have a fondue party. So we got all kinds of veggies (red peppers, potatoes, asparagus, mushrooms, carrots, yellow squash, zucchini) steak, pork, chicken, shrimp, fish and breads, cheese, strawberries, pinnapple, brownies, bananas and lots of chocolate with carmel and pecans and had a good dinner. We decided that we had too much food for two people, so we invited Kamie's mom, dad, chet, tina and jace over. It was a lot of fun and good food.
Can't wait to try it again!

This is our house. We like it a lot and have remodeled the entire inside. Hopefully this summer we can get the yard in and do some things outside. We have a lot of really big trees in our yard, so we have lots of shade in the summer and a lot of leaves to rake in the fall. They help keep our house cool in the summer. We really like it here though.
It snowed a little today. (you can see how much! :) Hopefully it will snow a little more! It sure looks like it might! I love the snow!

Here are some pictures of the Nursery that we are painting. We still have a lot to do and the pictures are a little blurry, but I thought it would be fun to put them up anyways! We still have to paint the sun, the trees and all the flowers! Hopfully it will be cute!

Here's another one!

and another....

Here's the last one!

and another.....
Seems like we have been super busy lately, but I don't know what we've been doing. We have been painting the nursery everynight and it's almost done. i will get a picture soon and put it up. It's been a lot of work, but a lot of fun!
We have also been trying to get a little business going. Dustyn and I are going to start business making video productions in our spare time. We do it for family now, so we figured maybe we should start advertising a little and get a little business here and there. It should be fun, we'll see how it goes.
Other than that, we are just working and playing!
Hope all is going well for you!

Here is a picture of the quilt that i made. It's been a lot of fun getting everything ready for a baby! We have most of the nursery painted, but haven't finished it completely.

We are having a good week! Last Saturday we went Ice Fishing again! Time there were only three of us. Kamie's dad, Dustyn and Kamie, so our limit was 12 fish. We limited out in a few hours. It was a lot of fun! It was such a great day for Ice fishing! It was warm and clear and not windy! It was a good ten degrees warmer at the lake then it was when we got home.
We came home and smoked all the fish. They were great!
Last week I also attempted to make my first baby quilt. It was a lot of fun! I have never really sewn anything, so I just thought I would try it. It turned out pretty nice! I will have to take a picture of it! Sewing is kinda fun, I think I might do it more often!
We had a great weekend. Yesterday we went Ice Fishing again. This time we were prepared and we had a great time. When we got to the lake it was around -3 degrees. It was pretty cold, but we brought ice fishing tents this time. So we got our holes drilled and got our little 2 seater tent set up and fished and fished. It was so fun. We had a little heater in our tent and it was so warm and great! The tent is black so it attracted heat from the sun and at one point we were down to just t-shirts. It was a lot of fun. In the other tent they warmed water for us, so we had hot cider and hot chocolate.
There were 5 of us there. Dustyn and I, Jace and Tina, and Kamie's dad, Rick. We each had a 4 fish limit... so all together we could get 20 fish. We left with 17 nice fish! They were all about three pound fish. (Dustyn caught the biggest fish out of all of us!) It was a blast. So we took them home, cleaned them up and split them all up. We are excited to have some good rainbow trout for dinner! But it was a lot of fun.
The rest of the night we just hung out with my family and ate pizza for dinner!
Hope all is well!

On Saturday we went sledding up in the canyon with all the of Young Men and Young Women in our ward. It was a lot of fun. It was fairly warm and a nice day. The rest of the day we took a short break from being busy! It was quite nice.

Happy New Year! We have had a great weekend. On Saturday we went up north to pick up a puppy that we bought for Kamie's parents for Christmas. It is a minature schnauzer and is super cute! It is only 7 weeks old, so it is really small. But it has been fun having a new puppy around.
On Sunday we had the traditional family party with lots of fun and games. We love playing games and cards. All of Kamie's family was down and we had a lot of fun! We stayed up late and finally went to bed around 3:30a.m. Then someone had the brilliant idea to go ice-fishing today. (It's actually one of our New Years Day traditions) But we got up around 7 and got everything ready and headed off to the lake. It was a beautiful day and the sun was out and shinning... we were excited that it was such a great clear day to get on the lake.... then we opened the truck door. IT WAS FREEZING! The wind was blowing and it went right through you. We all had big insullated coveralls on with beenies and gloves, but that didn't seem to help. It was about 20 degrees, which would have been fine and perfect ice fishing weather, but the wind chill was a good 20 below. We braved the weather for about two and a half hours thinking the wind would stop... finally we had enough and went home. It was still fun, but we are still trying to shake the chill. We took the camera hoping to get some fun pictures, but no one was brave enough to take off their gloves to get the camera out and work it! We'll have to go again and hope for warmer weather!
Have a great new year!
This picture is of Kamie's dad (a.k.a. Grandpa Rick) and the new puppy, Camo. That is his favorite place to be... and sleep!
Christmas Eve was a lot of fun. Kamie was called into the Young Womens to help with the personal progress awards. We had two dinners. One at Kamie's grandparents and the other with Dustyn's sister's family. We had steak and crab legs and candied apples. It was yummy!
Later we opened up our traditional Christmas Eve presents of pajamas. We had a lot of fun.
Christmas was great. We spent all day with family. Kamie made her traditional Christmas breakfast, it was wonderful. We opened presents together at our house and then went to Kamie's parents house to open more presents. Then all of us went to Kamie's grandparents' houses for more food and fun. We played games until midnight with everyone.
Christmas really is the best time of the year!

Today we went up for JaKell and Brandon's Wedding. It was fun and nice to see everyone again. The kids were cute! We miss them so much! They moved about 3 hours away from us a few months ago. But they seem to be happy and love thier new house and neighborhood.
Dustyn took all the pictures for the wedding, so it was a busy day for him! But he did a great job!
It snowed some more today and was a cold day! We just might have snow for Christmas!!
We finally got a camera! So keep checking back for current pictures. We are excited to have one of our very own! (We usually borrow or get to use really nice cameras, since Dustyn is the official picture taker, but now we can take pictures whenever we want.)
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
Hi! We had another great weekend. We went and visited Dustyn's mom for the weekend. We had a family Christmas Party and had all of Dustyn's brothers and sister there. (and all of his nieces and nephews of course) Dustyn's mom made pajamas for all the little kids. They were super cute! It was a lot of fun seeing the whole family at once. AND it snowed about a foot and a half at her house... so there was plenty of snow to play in. We got a little snow at our house, but we are hoping for a little more just to make sure there is snow for Christmas.
Hope your Holiday Season is going Wonderful!!
