We just got back from our trip to Salt Lake and it was a great time! Porter got to see his friends (and we did too!) and they had a blast driving around in a little mini car. He also got to see his cousins and play on a Wii for the first time. I think we've created a monster! ha! He loved it and was a great little traveler with us!
We also went and visited Temple Square and Thanksgiving Point--the dinosaur museum was awesome!
We had a great time together visiting with friends and family. Porter is asking when we can do it again! :)

We've finally got a vacation scheduled! Britt has been traveling a lot for work so it's been hard to set something up, but we're finally getting up to Salt Lake City to visit friends and family. One of Porter's special friends moved up there about a year ago, and he misses him, so it will be nice for them to see each other again. And it will be nice for us to see his parents, too!
We're really looking forward to spending some time together as a family and taking it easy for a few days. Woo hoo! :)

It's been a busy couple of months, and we're glad that things are starting to slow down after the holidays. After Christmas, we celebrated our anniversary, then lots of family birthdays, then Britt's birthday! Whew! Pretty soon it will be Darcy's turn to blow out the candles. It all seems to go by so fast.
Porter is enjoying being a "big boy" and we're checking out preschools to start in August. He's already got a backpack that he fills everyday with toys, and says that he's ready to go! In the meantime, we'll take a few sports classes through the City that will get all that toddler energy out! He loves playing!

We're so excited for Christmas! This year, Porter has really started to understand the concept of "Santa Claus" and asks us almost everyday if it's Christmas yet. He also wanted to get special presents for people he loves, so we hit the dollar store and he picked out something for everyone. I think we'll all be a little surprised come Christmas morning! :)
This time of year is always so much fun--all the decorations, the food, the parties. It's so great to be together as a family and appreciate the wonderful blessings we have, and to be thankful for the birth of Jesus Christ. We are so blessed to have a loving Heavenly Father who blesses us in spite of our weaknesses. We're thankful for the Christmas season to be reminded of that!

Well, we woke up this morning to beautiful weather outside! We made it through another AZ summer! Yahoo! We always feel like we've won a race or something when we manage these hot summers.

One of our sweet doggies passed-away a couple months ago, and we've missed her. We've been contemplating getting another dog--well, Darcy has been contemplating getting another dog. Darcy volunteers with a beagle-rescue group and we've been fostering a sweet little female named "Blue" for the last few weeks. She may be adopted this week to her new family, and we'll miss her, but we know that this was the point of fostering. We'll see if we can add another beagle to the mix around here!

We've had a busy couple of weeks! We celebrated Porter's 3rd birthday and he was so happy for it. We had a small family party for him: it was a "Cars" theme because he loves that movie. For days beforehand we had to show him on a calendar how many days were left until his birthday. He was so excited! We sure love his enthusiasm.

We also just returned from a vacation in La Jolla, CA. It was a little last-minute, but so nice to get out of the heat for a few days. We went to the beach, visited family, swam in the hotel pool, and went to the Science Museum at Balboa Park. It was so great to relax and have fun together. We'll get pictures posted up soon!
