I have not been consistent with writing in this journal. We have been so busy this summer that I just haven't gotten to do this. I will give a short synopsis of what we have been up to this summer. Each of the older kids have had a week at scout camp or girls camp this summer. We have worked hard on painting the house and our fence. We enjoyed a wonderful Independence Day holiday with family that came for a visit and friends. We went to Utah for the wedding of my niece. We went to the swimming pool a lot. My sister had healthy twins (a girl and boy). We purchased, with three other friends, a sailboat! We have been out on the lake a few times with it, and have had a wonderful time. The children have really enjoyed learning how to sail and playing in the lake. Now we are back to school and trying to get into the rhythm and structure that comes with school. I will try to write more consistently now that life has slowed down a bit. One thing I wanted to add... Eliza, without provocation, keeps asking about the baby... I think somehow she has an inkling as to her new brother that will soon be coming! We can't wait!

Today, I took the kids swimming. It was a very hot day. The kids enjoy spending time together and swimming is one of their favorite things to do. Last week I was away at girls camp with Clarissa. Joseph and Peter went to cub scout day camp and Karlton and Eliza went to their cousins during the day. I think Karlton really enjoyed that time he had with Eliza. In fact recently, someone jokingly said they wanted to take Eliza home with them and Karlton got really upset. The children are the best of friends. They all are looking forward to their new baby brother.
