We've had a lucky month --- On July 4th we won two tickets to see Blue Man Group in Las Vegas. A week later we won tickets to the American Idol Concert from a local radio station; including a limo and dinner for two. It was so much fun! Then a couple of days after that we won two season passes for Lagoon (a local theme park). So we're going there to celebrate our birthdays which are only about two weeks apart. We just love summer!

Yesterday we walked with our friends & members of Families Supporting Adoption in a city parade. It was fun to hear all the cheers from the crowd and shouts of "Yay! Adoption!"
We're really excited for the chance to adopt a child into our family and hope it happens soon for us.
We've found that in life some of the most difficult decisions we make turn into some of the most rewarding experiences.
We're thankful for the sacrifices made by those placing children for adoption.

This year we celebrated Father's Day weekend by whitewater rafting on the Snake River. It was awesome! All of Jessica's family went with us, too. It was fun to be with our family and everyone had a great time on the river.

I realized something important this weekend.
Even if we never receive the opportunity to be parents,
I have my Jessica.
and I feel richly blessed.

This is Jessica - For the past 2 1/2 months I've been able to watch my neighbor's baby while she's at work. It's really been a blessing for me to have him in our home and take away the quiet. I'm going to miss him!

Mother’s Day

It’s a rough day for my wife. Can you believe that last year at church someone actually had the nerve to ask her, “So why are YOU here?” This year, hoping to spare her some drama, I decided to take her away. She’s wanted to take me to Moab, UT for a while now and so we saw a perfect opportunity to experience it this last weekend.

We camped out for the weekend in Moab and visited Arches National Park. We had a great time hiking in the desert. We took lots of photos and we managed to soak up a lot of sun. I just loved seeing the beauty that God created for us to enjoy. I’ve always loved climbing and scrambling on rocks and Arches seemed tailor-made for me. I also liked getting the chance to just hang up the phone at work and enjoy Jessica's company. Jessica enjoyed the chance to get out from behind the computer she works at and get some sunshine and time with me.

Hi, I'm Jessica's Mom. In the last year since Ron and Jessica have decided to adopt I have seen some amazing changes in them. They are really devoted to having children. If you know someone who is not ready to be a parent I recommend that you put them in touch with LDS Family Services to give Ron and Jessica the opportunity they are looking for. Sincerely, Lesa (hopeful grandma)

It was 6 years ago today that my Jessica was sealed to me forever by the covenant of marriage. I am so happy that I found her and she didn't run......
I really am a better man because of her. Without Jessica in my life, I was like a ship with no rudder. Tossed about whichever the current chose to take me. With Jessica at my side, I am happy. I am healthier than I've ever been and I have a job that I actually enjoy. She has taught me so much and she means so much to me. I can't wait to see her in action as a mother.

The Easter Bunny stopped by yesterday leaving sugary candy and chocolates for us to eat. Ron had fun hiding eggs for our nephew on Saturday, too. It was a great weekend!

Saturday we had an adoption party at our park. We went sledding and ate cookies and hot chocolate. It was fun! But we\'re glad the snow is melting this week because we\'re ready for Spring. Maybe that\'s why we\'re getting cabin fever and we\'re ready to get the bikes back out.

I LOVE our neighborhood! I was plowing the driveway today after a heavy snowstorm...the neighbor saw me and came over to help. It was so thoughtful and we were able to finish a lot faster.

Last night we hung out with some friends who have adopted. It's so nice to see the joy that adoption has brought into their lives.

Yesterday we welcomed in the New Year with the annual family sledding party at grandpa's ranch. It couldn't have been a nicer winter day either; just beautiful sunny weather and a deep layer of snow on the mountain. We even saw three moose next to the road on the way home!

(Ron says) No matter how old she gets, Jessica loves Santa Claus. She's been a very good girl this year and I hope he brings her something nice.
Santa needed a favor from me this year. Apparently his chief of staff made a boo-boo and double booked him for an appearance the other night so he asked me to stand in for him. It was a very big honor. I'm glad the big guy trusts me. Anyway I had a lot of fun standing in for him. If I'm lucky maybe he'll ask me to help him out next year too.

The crib has arrived! Should get the car seat later this week...Ron put the crib together tonight and we snapped a photo so you can see it. Hope you like it too.

We're so excited...we just ordered a crib and a car seat. I'll upload a photo soon of the nursery. We've got it all painted and it's a safari theme. I want to wait until the crib comes and it's all put together before posting the photo of the baby's room, but it's looking good!

Last night we decided to spend family night with two of our best friends and their two children. We had a yummy dinner together at their place and then went to Temple Square. The lights were beautiful and we especially enjoyed how warm it was for December.

(Jessica says) Today was the annual family bowling party. Grandma and grandpa rented the entire bowling alley for two hours so we could eat and play and exchange gifts. It was great to see extended family members and just hang out and chat. I can't wait to teach our children how to throw the ball down the lane and see their excitement when they get their first strike!
