How was your Halloween? We had a great time here with Trick or Treating. I was in Target today and they already have all of their Christmas stuff out. EEK! Time is going so fast.

Happy Sunday! We had a great time out back riding the dirt bikes today. The little kids (Rory and Alea) took turns riding non-power toys and also playing on the playground. I'm too much of an over-protective mom to let anyone NEAR a dirt bike until they are at least nine years of age. Anyway, we all had fun. It's cooler here which makes it all so much better.

So, how about those Gamecocks?!? WHOHOO! I'm so proud :) Are you ready for Halloween? It's coming up fast. I need to get in gear and mend the hole that Murphy ate in Rory's costume (the UPS man delivered it and Murphy ate the box before I grabbed it) but otherwise we are ready. Rory is going to be a fireman, Alea is a cheerleader, Thomas is a ghost and for the life of me I can't remember offhand what Henry is! Oh well, I'll think of it eventually. Anyway, have a great and safe week.

Today would have been my Dad's 67th birthday. He died 3 years ago and we miss him greatly. I wish he could have known our next addition (whoever he or she may be) but I think or I guess I would like to believe that maybe he is watching from above and will share in our joy.

How is your week going? Everything is good here. Rory was the only one to get sick so we are in the clear! Hoping to visit the pumpkin farm this weekend and go on a hay ride with the kids and all that other fun fall sort of stuff. I love this time of year!

The flu has arrived! So far, Rory was the only one to catch it. I think Henry has something minor but unrelated. I came down with a sinus infection last night so I'm in a haze today. BUT, that's okay. No one has been all that sick so I am thankful. We are going to the State Fair on Monday so all should be fine by then. I hope. How was your week? I am totally in nesting mode! Getting the crib and toddler beds ready...just in case....

Today is my birthday (Julie)! It was just a quiet, rainy day but still a good one. My mom gave me a bunch of "Life is Good" tees (which I love) and Kirk got me a few Gamecock shirts as well as a little Playstation portable. I still love video games. The best gift came from Alea who on her own went and made me the sweetest birthday card. She has one pic inside of me holding a baby, too. Kirk and I both smiled about that one. :)

This week is flying by!! It started with some nice cool weather but now we are back to humidity. Kids are all doing well in school and keeping quite busy with all the homework. I can't think of much else to journal about this week (I must be tired if I am this quiet!) so I guess I will end here with a wish for peace and happiness this week for you....whoever and whereever you may be! :)

It's OCTOBER! Can you believe it? This is a big month for us birthday-wise. We have 5 birthdays in a 3 week time frame. Let the parties begin! :-) I think we may take the kids to either an amusement park or to the beach as well.

We try to always do something extra special at birthday times since I'm not a big "let's invite the entire class!" type of mom. I'd rather do stuff with family and some of the kid's close friends....and just keep things simple and fun.

I see we have had a bunch of people clicking on us lately but not many calls....so if you are thinking about us, please do give us a ring or email us.

Today is Kirk's birthday. We had a great time celebrating with family. And Kirk got some cool new little gadgets like an iPod touch so he is pretty happy.

How is your week going? It's busy here as always. We have gotten a few more contacts lately which is wonderful news. I'm always happy to get a phone call or email! :)

Sunday night. Kids are in bed. Time for a journal entry!

Fall is coming. I put out some of the Halloween decorations this weekend. I couldn't wait. Maybe it will bring cooler fall weather. Let's hope. How was your week?

I'm yawning as I type so it looks like bedtime here. Oh wait! One more thing to talk about. Rory went to bed last night and there was this HUGE cricket sitting right on his bed. So, we now have a pet cricket named Cookie. He has his own cage complete with eating area and a water dish. Leave it to us to keep a cricket as a pet. I want my kids to always love God's creatures, big or small....or chirpy in this case. I love it when he chirps. :) Have a great week and please email or call!

I am journaling Jules lately! I heard from a contact that she reads all of my posts and enjoys them so that made me happy to know at least someone out there is reading them. And hey A, if you are still reading, you know who you are and know that I think of you each and every day! :)

Ah, it's Tuesday. The kids have a shortened school day tomorrow which is a bit of a pain but does enable me to take 2 or 3 for a haircut. Thomas' school starts late but ends at the normal time....so his haircut will have to come later.

What else is new around here....
Bought the new Beatles Rock Band and have been jamming. Thomas knew quite a few of the songs but Henry doesn't know any of them. Sigh. I feel old!

Some good contacts this week so we shall see what happens. I always feel very blessed to talk to anyone who contacts us so please feel like you can call or email whenever. If I don't answer immediately, know that I will call or email as soon as I have a minute. If there is one thing I love to do, it's chat! :)

Ah, it's not Sunday (my usual day for journaling on here) but I figured I would write an entry just the same. I should be cleaning out closets but this is more fun.

How is your week going? It's busy here. Thomas has a bunch of tests this week, Henry is busy with homework, Rory loves all things related to school buses (and wants to sleep on his school bus), and Alea is doing well with her school work.

We went geocaching on Monday. That was fun. You basically take a handheld GPS device (ours is old but it works) and look up sites online where you can go find treasure. The kids loved it even though it took us forever to find it. And of course, it was right in front of us the entire time. :) Someone hides the treasure and once you find it, you hide it again for the next person. It's a cool idea!

Happy Sunday! We had a blast riding dirt bikes today. I'll try and get a pic posted of everyone wearing their protective gear before the ride. It was a good end to a busy week.

Wow, what a week it has been!!

The kids are all doing fine and enjoying school. Everything is off to a really good start this year, thankfully. Hope you have a good rest of the week!

We drove up to Kentucky and then on to Ohio this week to visit friends and also sightsee. The kids had a blast checking out Mammoth Cave and doing some gem mining. It was a fun last minute road trip before school starts up this week.

Time for my usual Sunday journaling. How was your week? It was busy here. Our oldest two went to a really cool science day camp which they loved. School starts in less than 2 weeks! We are going on a short road trip tomorrow but will still have access to the internet and will have the cell phone, too. So please call us! :) We would love to hear from you and help you with your situation.

Another week closer to school! We have all the supplies but I still need to go back to school shopping. I tried to do a bit the other day but everything is too warm...jeans, hoodies, sweaters....when our weather here in South Carolina stays hot well into October. The kids have camp this week and then we may go on a quick road trip to see friends. We've had a few more contacts this week but not much is happening. Every Sunday I am hopeful that this could be the week we get a call or email that brings our little one home. :)

And so it's a hot and slow Sunday afternoon around here. I had planned on taking the kids swimming in our pool but we keep having a ton of wasps swimming around it. I finally discovered they have a nest above one of the windows upstairs. EEEK! I am calling the pest patrol guy tomorrow.

On another note, we are hoping to get some good contacts this week!! I talked to a really awesome expectant mom last week and I wish her so much luck and will keep her in our prayers.

Talked to Alea's Birth Mom tonight. It's so good to hear from her. She's doing just fine and had sent Alea a really nice box filled with presents for her birthday. We also keep in touch with her grandmother and will be saying special prayers for Alea's uncle who will be serving our country overseas.

Hello! It's summertime and the days are long and filled with swimming and sunshine. I love this time of year. We just reactivated our profile on Parent Profiles. We had one on here about 2 years ago before our daughter Alea's grandmother found us on here and we are one of the success stories!! :) We all hope that will be the case once again and soon. Everything is ready and waiting....
