The words below are from our close friends, Carl & Theresa. We have attended many family gatherings and activities with them and their children, Lauren and Carl Jr.. They have a terrific, close knit family which Ellen and I hope to have with our adopted child. Carl will be the Godfather of our child. The picture was taken recently when we all went out for ice cream.

A special message from Carl & Theresa:

We have known Joe and Ellen for over 20 years as the closest of friends. We were attendants in each other's weddings and have vacationed with them on several occasions. They have been present at all of the most celebrated moments of our children's lives from christenings to birthday parties to communions etc.

In addition, we have many fond memories of time spent informally with them and our children, Lauren (age 9) and Carl (age 6), picnicking, hiking, and going on day-trips. In each of these settings, it has always been easily apparent to us that Ellen and Joe possess the qualities necessary to be wonderful parents.

Joe and Ellen are compassionate and devoted to one another. They are both responsible and hard-working individuals. Joe is funny, outgoing, and quick to laugh. Our children love his sense of humor. Ellen is fun-loving, patient, and kind. Lauren and Carl have always seemed to connect with them easily.

Joe and Ellen have always had a natural ease with our children and we consider them very positive influences and good role models for them. Lauren and Carl always look forward to the next time we will get together with them.

We eagerly anticipate sharing with Joe and Ellen the many joys and challenges they will experience entering parenthood. We know their child will be received into a world of unconditional acceptance and love.

Ellen and I are fortunate to have many good friends who have been so understanding and supportive of our efforts to adopt. Emil and Denise are a couple in which we have had the pleasure of sharing many special events in our lives. In fact, Denise will be the Godmother of our child. Emil and Denise have been blessed with three beautiful and healthy daughters. It has been a joy for Ellen and me to watch their children grow-up. When we told Emil and Denise that we were putting our profile on this website, they wanted to tell you about our special relationship with their family.

A special message from Emil and Denise about Joe and Ellen:

I have been friends with Joe for over 30 years while my wife, Denise, and I have known Ellen for the past 15 years. Over the years, Joe and Ellen have been over our house for family celebrations, cookouts and other events. They have been tremendous in relating to all our children. We have seen Joe and Ellen interact with our older daughters, Michelle and Sarah, since they were little girls. Our 10-year old daughter, Nicole, has known the Formica’s since she was an infant.

All our children love and respect Joe and Ellen because of their ability to not only instruct and “parent” but for their ability to relate to them and listen. Our 10-year old daughter, Nicole, loves the Formica’s thus in the event that something were to happen to both of us, we feel comforted knowing that Joe and Ellen would be there to help raise Nicole for us.

The Formica’s are extremely dependable and hard-working people but most importantly when it comes to children, they are very loving people. Any child who ends up with the Formica’s as parents will be a very lucky child indeed.
