Ken & Julieprofile id #21271
We haven't entered anything in our journal lately because we had been working with a birth mother until just recently. Unfortunately things didn't workout with her. We are very disappointed but all the more ready to have a baby in our home. We know that our baby is out there somewhere and our story will have a happy ending.
Spring has sprung and we are enjoying our neighborhood parks, walks in the woods and along the river.

It's Thanksgiving morning, and we're getting ready to host dinner tonight with Julie's side. The turkey is in the oven, and we have a fire in the fireplace. We're enjoying the snow flurry outside, and happy to be warm and snug at home. Last night we had such a fun time, all four of us curling up under a blanket on the couch and watching Thanksgiving with Charlie Brown. The kids loved it! We're so thankful for everything we have, and every time the phone rings, we hope it's Angel Adoption calling to tell us that a Birth Mom wants to meet us.
We have incorporated "family hugs and kisses" into our routine. We all put our arms around eachother and give a big squeeze then give one big kiss altogether. It makes us all very happy.
We tell Maggie and Johnny that we will have a new baby brother or sister in our house some day They get very excited and usually run to the playroom to pick a dolly to hug and kiss. They will both be such a good big sister/brother.

Maggie has been in Ballet class for a few weeks. We are always amazed at how much she has learned. Her teacher said that she is very graceful for her age...we are so proud of her.
We belong to the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, IL. This weekend was the perfect weather to go for a nice long leisurely walk. The kids picked up beautifully colored leaves and handed them to daddy and me. They then gave us a big hug as if they gave us a special present.
Johnny had his first day of school today. He was very excited until it was time for me to go. His teachers said he did great and didn't cry once - only asked "where is mommy" with a whimper a few times. I missed him but all turned out well for both of us when we saw each other and had a big hug and a smooch.
We had a busy weekend filled with family and friends. On friday night Ken and I took the kiddies to a local highschool football game where we saw Uncle Neil and Uncle Dave and cheered our team on to victory.
On Saturday we had a wonderful time at our neighborhood fall picnic. The kids loved playing at the park and running around playing with balls and balloons. There were 75+ people at the picninc - (20+ kids!). The fire department came to the picninc and the kids were able to climb all over the firetruck and try on the firemens gear. Johnny especially liked that. It was a cool night so we brought our firepit and gathered around to stay warm. Of course there were S'mores and smiles.
Today is a beautiful Fall day and after church we spent the rest of the morning exploring a nature path near our house. We saw the beautiful river with ducks and little fish, a toad and lots of butterflies. We love the seasonal changes.
Maggie had her first day of school today. She was so excited and we were so proud of her. She got on the bus with her backpack and a great big smile. Now Johnny and I have alone time until Maggie gets home.
It's a beautiful rainy Sunday. We love to hear and smell the soft rain. Maggie and Johnny went out with daddy in the rain with their slickers on carrying umbrellas looking for puddles to stomp in. It is nice to have a quiet day before the busy week begins.
Off to make our early Sunday dinner!

Hello. We are finished with our profile, and our very excited to share a part of our lives with you.
