Since it has been over a year since our last journal entry I thought I would share a few things we have been up too.
This past spring Fred and I took Foster Care classes. We decided to do this new adventure for a couple of reasons. The first reason is to help out these sweet kids who needs safe places to stay and be loved while their parents figure things out. And the second reason is to get practice being parents and possibly adopt the kids if become available.
So by the first of July we were approved to become foster parents. And by mid-July we received our first placement, a baby. He has been such a joy to have in our home, and we are know that he will eventually be going back to his parents in the near future. He has taught us so much just the short time we have had him.
This past summer we went camping with Joe and my niece and nephew. We found an area to set up camp and quickly discovered we were going to share it with a herd of sheep and the sheep herder's dog! Luckily we scared them off and never saw them again. We all had a blast camping and I think my favorite part is the camp fires at night!
Last month we went to see Fred and Joe's grandparents. We tried two other times to go down and see them and I guess as it has been said: 'the third time is the charm.' It was nice to visit with them and hear the stories about their lives. I am sad to say we did not have any Rook or Rummy Cube tournaments with them this time.
I cannot believe it is November already! This past year has just flown by. Christmas will be here before we all know it!
That reminds me last December Fred and I took a mini trip to California. (Perks of flying for free) We went to Knotts Berry Farm. It has been years since I have been and for Fred it was his first time. We had fun taking in all the Christmas shows they offered. We only went on just a few rides, we have both found the older we are getting, the scary roller coaster type of rides are just not very appealing any more! We had a lot of fun and we also went and found the Hollywood sign in LA. Even though the trip only lasted a couple of days it was nice to just go and get away.
Well I promise to be better at updating this portion of our profile. So you can get to know what is going on in our lives on a more causal level.

We decided to adopt after our last failed attempt at artificial insemination with super ovalation.
