Mike & Angelaprofile id #21657

It was an exciting morning today. Alyse was so happy to find the eggs that the Easter bunny hid. We went to church with Mike's parents and had Easter dinner at their house with his grandparents too. Mike's Aunts, Uncles & cousins stopped over for desert... it was a full house. Alyse also enjoyed playing with her cousins.
Alyse and I went to my Grandmom's house to bake our traditional pies and deserts for Easter ( with my sisters, aunt, cousins & grandmother). I love introducing Alyse to the traditions that I remember as a child. My 15 month old nephew was also there to join in the fun of baking.
Happy Valentine's Day!!
Mike always makes dinner on this night and it is always lobster. Alyse's and my favorite. We had shrimp cocktail, steamed clams, fried scallops and of course a 2 1/2 lb. lobster. It was great!! We got flowers too. We love him very very much.
This weekend we finished up taking down the wallpaper in our dining room and now prepping to prime and paint. Alyse loves the job of pulling down the wallpaper. It was a fun time together.

I can't believe that it's in the 60's today....crazy weather. It was beautiful.. a little windy. We spent most of the afternoon outside, either in the backyard doing yard work or at the park around the corner. Alyse rode her bike to the park.

Merry Christmas!
My favorite holiday is Christmas Eve. I love going to my grandma's house for good eats and hanging with my family.
We have been doing this since I was a toddler and I love that my daughter gets to do the same. We had a really good time with my loud and feisty family. It is always a really late night.
After Midnight Mass (which is the same church that my sisters & I and cousins were all baptized in), we open the presents. This year Alyse is more aware of the story of baby Jesus and Santa, so it is so much fun. We can't wait to have another baby in our family to experience double the fun of the holidays. We pray every night for a baby to love and cherish.

We love going to see the tree in NY during Christmas time. It was an all day event, first stopping at my parent's pizzeria for lunch and a visit.
We then took the train over and stopped at Central Park to let the kids play and run around (we went with friends and their 3 boys ages 20 months, 5 yrs. & 8 yrs).
Then headed for Rockefeller Center to see the Christmas tree.
By the end of the day we were beat, but had a great time.

Alyse's dance class allowed us a sneak preview at their top secret dance routine. I asked Mike's parents to come and see her routine. They were so happy to be there.
It was so great to see all the girls dance. I was so impressed with Alyse. She is doing great.
I helped out my friend and watched her children while she was at a meeting today. The youngest was 18 months, Daniel, he's a cutie. Her other son, Joseph, is Alyse's age and they love playing together. As I watch Alyse play with Daniel and pretend to be his big sister, I can't help but wonder when she will be a big sister for real. We pray every night for all birthmothers to find what they need and for one special mother to consider us as a family to love and cherish her baby.

Today we went to New York City to the Musuem of Natural History. We wanted to see some dinosoars. It was my aunt Anna, my mom, my sister Connie, myself & Alyse. Alyse and her Aunt Connie were having fun playing dinosaurs in this picture.

Thanksgiving this year was at Mike's mom's house. There were about 20 people. After the big feast we love to play games and even some touch football. Pictured here are some of mike's 1st cousins on his mom's side.
My sister, Connie, and her husband just got back from Brazil and came over to show us her pictures. We also decided to do some holiday shopping at the mall. Alyse loves spending time with her Aunt.

Today was my nephew, Joseph's, 1st Birthday party....he, Alyse, and all the children had fun. Everyone enjoyed the cookies Alyse and I baked. Mike helped my sister with the kids' games. As always they had a great time playing the games with Mike. He will make a great dad to our younger son or daughter who we adopt.
I'm so happy that today we became approved by our homestudy agency again! There are so many emotions about how it will be connecting with a loving birth mother ..getting to know each other...and wondering what she will be like...and putting out our prayers and thoughts to her.
