So, the twin girls have arrived! Here is a picture of our baby nieces...

Things are kind of quiet around the house today. Joey, our kitty, is helping me type right now, making things so much easier! Anyways, we just wanted to post a picture of our friends beautiful baby. This picture was taken when she was a day old. She is about two weeks old now. Isn't she gorgeous?
Have a great day!

So, my friend had her baby last weekend! She had her baby at the hospital where I work. Oh my goodness... her baby is sooooo adorable! I always thought it was the parents that always thought their baby was the cutest... but I kept going back to my coworkers and telling them how adorable my friends baby is. It was really hard to work when I knew that the baby was just upstairs. I visited her every day while she was in the hospital. They are home now, and I'm sad only because I won't get to spend every day with her baby... but it's good they are healthy and home. I told her to give me a call if she needed any help.
In other baby news, my brother and sister-in-law are having twin girls.. It's official! My poor brother-in-law... He'll survive though!
Hope things are going well, until next time...
Jennie
So, the holidays are over.. things are calming down. It was hard for us to make it through the holidays with high spirits. We spent lots of time with our families.. which also meant that we heard the question, "Have you heard anything about the adoption yet?" WAY too many times! Every person we talked to would ask. No matter how many times we've told them we will call as soon as we hear something (as we won't be able to contain the excitement!), they still have to ask. I guess they are just as anxious as we are to have a child in our lives. My mom has been sewing lots to make quilts, clothes, and many other special things for her future grandchildren. I think she started the day we announced we were going to adopt.
For Christmas this year, I tried what I did over six years ago when I was waiting for my lung transplant. My family would ask what I wanted for Christmas... I said, "A good set of lungs!" They wanted ideas of something they could get... but that's truly all I wanted at the time. I got my lungs two days before Thanksgiving... It worked that year. This year... I had a child at the top of my list... but it didn't come... :o( We are trying to be patient... it gets hard at times. But we keep waiting... and waiting... hoping that one day our match will happen... and our lives will be complete!
Jeremy's college friend was here to visit from South Carolina for the holidays. She has two children under the age of 2. One is 1 1/2 years old and the other 1 month old. Jeremy went to visit with them while I was at work... He came home with a dozen pictures of them in his cell phone! He couldn't stop talking about the kids. He said he offered to take one home... but his friend wasn't too happy with that idea. He called his friend up a couple days later to see if she could get together with us again. She came to visit with her children two days ago. Here we thought our house was "child-proofed". Boy were we wrong! The little 1 1/2 year old was into everything... a lot like our kitties. I followed her around.. and she was comfortable with me. Her parents said that she's usually too shy to leave them... but she was talking to me and letting me carry her all over the house. The baby boy was being held by Jeremy. The first time he held the baby, he looked uncomfortable.. but after a few minutes.. he was a natural. Boy was it hard to let them go. As they were leaving, Jeremy told his friends that if they wanted to have time to themselves, we would babysit. I thought it was so cute how he didn't want the children to leave!
Alright, I hope the holidays were good to everyone. We can't wait to hear from you all!
Take care,
Jennie

So, it's official... my sister is pregnant!!! She is due in August... Wow, we've got lots of cousins that our child will be able to grow up with and play with through the years. Of course we are hoping that our child will have a sibling to grow with, but we have to get our first child, then we can work on getting a sibling for them.
Have a great holiday season!
Excited Aunt Jennie
PS The picture is of a baby quilt I made for my friend's baby girl that is due in early February.
So I went to an appointment today, and I think my heart just broke again. I was waiting in the waiting room, and this little boy, probably 3 years old, was there also. I was trying to read my magazine, but the boy kept catching my attention. After a few minutes, the little boy came over to talk to me. He was telling me all about his "Cars" backpack. He then asked me to help him put his backpack on his back. I helped him with his backpack. His mom kept calling him so they could leave, and he continued to talk to me.. and tell me what he was going to do for the day. My heart breaks each time I see a child. I'm just glad kids feel so comfortable with me. It seems there are a lot of children out there... *sigh*
Always,
Jennie
So the holidays are coming together. The decorations are up, the presents are wrapped, stockings hung over the fireplace... We are ready to spend the holiday with our families. It always ends up being a few day event so that we can visit everyone. It's exhausting but totally worth it!
As for holiday wishes, obviously we are hoping to add a child to our family soon. But we are grateful also for the family we have. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have a family like ours.
There are rumors in the family about some exciting news, but we can't say a word until later. Check back in a week or so, and we may have the ability to make an announcement.
Happy holidays to all!
Jennie and Jeremy
Well, we are coming up on the last month of the year... We have decorated our house for the holidays, and gotten pretty far on our Christmas shopping. We spent the day together today just going around and getting gifts for our friends and family. It's much easier with the two of us working together. It's harder buying gifts with just one mind... Plus, it's lots more fun doing things together. Our kitties have "helped" tremendously in the decorating of the house. They have a little different sense of style! We'll have to take some pictures to share with you all. Now we just have to make sure the gifts remain wrapped!
We hope all is well... Until next time...
Jeremy and Jennie
We hope that Thanksgiving was wonderful for all. We spent the day/evening with our families. Jeremy and my families joined together this year to celebrate. Along with our families, there were my sisters in-laws. We haven't had such a big Thanksgiving in a long time. It was a great sunny day to be thankful for all we have. Can't wait for next year! You all are in our and our families thoughts.

We are excited to be a part of ParentProfiles.com! We are happy to share our adoption experience with everyone. We started the adoption process back in May 2007... picking an adoption agency, getting a home study, etc, etc... Our family has been so supportive and excited about us adopting a child. Every time we meet up with them, they are asking for new information. Thanksgiving is fast approaching. There is so much to be thankful for this year! Hope your Thanksgiving is wonderful and joyous...
We are so happy to be able to share our life adventures with you. Please check back for updates.
