Wow! The east coast weather has been absolutely amazing. We love being outside and the weather has been perfect… not too hot and not too cold. We spent last evening at our parent’s house for dinner and to celebrate a birthday. After dinner we went on a walk and enjoyed playing soccer in the back yard.
Today Micah and I are going to a friend’s house to can pumpkin. My friend has a huge garden and she is kind enough to share all that she grows. It will be nice to have fresh pumpkin for pies & pumpkin crisp for the up coming Holidays. Canning is something I learn to do this summer and have really enjoyed. Micah especially enjoys the ginger gold apple sauce that I made.
Tonight we are going to have family night and spend the night out in our tent in the back yard. We have an out side fire pit as well. We enjoy watching the fire, talking and making smores. Summer will soon be over and fall is on its way. 

We have had a very busy summer. Unfortunately it has involved two failed adoptions. We are hopeful and pray that the right birth parent(s) find us soon. We do miss the two little baby girls we almost had as a part of our family. For now we have our Micah…whom we adore and love to pieces. We pray for all birth parents out there that are trying to find the right families for their babies.

This morning I took Micah to see the Clifford Movie at the local movie theater. All summer long they have free old movies for children and their parents. We enjoyed the movie and had fun with our friends we invited to join us. Micah did really well sitting still during the movie…which was a big improvement from the last time we took him to the movies…I guess he didn’t like Wall-e as much as Clifford. This afternoon during nap time I worked on the quilt I’m making for Micah. It has all his favorite “people” on it. Spiderman, Curious George, Mickey Mouse & Lightning McQueen to name a few. It also has lots of trucks, cars and trains. Every time he sees me working on it he says, “Mommy I love it, thank you, thank you”. I’m excited for him to have it when it’s complete.

We had a great family vacation at the beach house. Spending time with our family is one of our favorite things to do. We took several trips to the beach and spent lots of time in the pool by the beach house. We took a couple shopping trip to the local outlets and took a Ferry ride over to Cape May. We enjoyed seeing the animals at the Zoo too. Micah and his cousin loved the train ride at the Zoo. It was a great family week.

We had a great 4th of July. Micah enjoyed the fireworks the most I think... He was so fun to watch. I think Josh and I enjoyed watching Micah more than the fireworks.

We are very sad to share the news that we didn't get to bring our baby girl home. Our birth mother April decided to keep her daughter. Ellie was with us for 6 days and then we got the news that April wanted her back. Six days was enough time for us to love little Ellie like we love Micah. It has been very hard and painful to come home without Ellie, but we know that Heavenly Father loves us and He will help our family grow. He will provide us with another baby that is meant for us.

I think staying busy and showing Micah that we are still a family without Ellie is important. We have really had a great Summer so far. We took a long weekend to the beach and rented a house with some friends. We took Micah to his first movie at the theater...we saw Kung-Fu Panda....It was really funny! We visited an amusement park with a water park inside that Micah totally loved. We also took a quick camping trip and Micah got to use his new fishing pole. We love being together as a family and pray everyday for our family to grow. We also pray for April and Ellie that they will be happy together.

We have great news!! April, a wonderful birth mother has chosen our family to adopt her baby. We are so excited to share all that we have with our new daughter. She will be here before we know it. We love you April and are grateful for YOU. We are so happy for our family to grow.

Some thoughts on being a mother:
I know there are many birthmothers out there that desire to find the right family for their child, and I just want all of them to know that we pray for you. It excites us when we see that there are adoptions in progress on this web site. That means that the babies that are coming to earth are finding their families, and that makes us so happy. We pray everyday for the right baby to find us and know that our Heavenly Father will help guide our child to us. We know the our son Micah was meant to be ours and we have more children to come to our family. It is hard to wait patiently, but we know our Heavenly Father has a plan for our family.
Not a day goes by when I don't think of Micah's birthmother and pray that she is well and happy. We love you Rene...Thank you!!
