We have had a great Holiday Season!! For Thanksgiving we had Grandma Sofi and Grandpa join us for almost a week filled with museums, movies, games, shopping and some great home cooking! Our highlight of that week was the Legos we got. Legos, Legos, and more Legos! We made the Grand Carousel, the Black Pearl pirate ship, passenger train around the Christmas tree, and a snow village - all within a few days! This brought back so many fond memories of my childhood when I would make Lego sets with my mom, and now I get to pass that on to Mikaela.
Recently I assembled all of our sets in our spare room and made a Lego City. When I finished I let Mikaela in and she was so surprised to see a Lego City she can play with at her height with the new modular tables I found. She has been playing in there everyday since...
Christmas was at our house this year. We were able to make some new traditions and continue old ones as well. One of our favorites is to put our best "Sunday" shoes around the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve for Santa to leaves us some goodies. I loved seeing Mikaela choose her shoes and put them in a neat little row with ours. Of course, Santa brought more than our shoes can hold so we ended up with piles around the tree and our shoes were buried! It was fun to do and see Mikaela's face in the morning trying to find her shoes and find all the little goodies that were brought.
Now that the year is over we looking forward to the New Year. 2012 was great and each year is better than the last, so naturally we are excited for 2013. We hope that whoever looks at this entry, or our profile may have a good year as well and find peace and joy with no matter what life deals you. Happy New Year to all!
Mikaela's 4th Birthday.
Wow what a great day! It started early in the morning with our living room filled with balloons. She woke up very surprised to see so many balloons. She ran back to her room and changed into her Scooby-Doo costume and came back to play in the balloons. She loved to cover herself up with as many balloons as she could get. It was funny to see with her dog paws in the way...
Later we had her Scooby-Doo birthday party where we had a great turnout. We played pin-the-tail on Scooby, make your own Scooby dog collars with fruit loops, a Scooby Pinata, a huge lunch buffet with "Chilling Cheese and Crackers", "Scooby Snacks", "Goblin Grapes", "Creepy Cheetos", "Whitch Hat Cookies", "Bone shaped Sandwiches" and more. Her cake was huge with Scooby characters on it, chocolate licorice trees and candy pumpkins depicting a scary forest with Scooby looking for clues…her favorite was opening the presents! She had been looking forward to her birthday for months and it was great that it finally was the day - it is one we will never forget!
Yeah!! The nursery room is done - painting that is. This project took much longer than anticipated. I debated for a long time whether or not to have the walls professionally patched and sealed as there were more holes than any wall I had ever seen! This put Mikaela's room remodel to shame. I ended up patching and sanding all the holes, priming and painted. The crib and dresser is up and I have been making up a few things for the room. Boy or girl we are ready!

Happy 4th of July! We went with friends to our annual spot on the parade route. Luckily we didn't get rained on like last year. It was a perfect day! We had brunch later and sorted out all the parade candy. Hopefully the candy doesn't disappear too quickly! - not because of Mikaela, but I do have a sweet tooth... Oh, can't wait for Halloween!

Father's Day. What a special day for Daddy! I made his favorite meal, and Mikaela was glued to him all day. Lots of hugs and kissed to the special guy in our lives! We love you Daddy!
For Mother's Day this year we went to Idaho and surprised Myan's mom. She had no idea we were coming and was very surprised to see us. It was great! We spent a good part of the weekend preparing the backyard for Myan's youngest sister's summer wedding. Myan's parents live on a 1 acre lot, so there was a lot to do! Soon we will be back and paint the outside of their home! Boy, that will be quite the project!!
Nursery Room Remodel
Today marked the official day of the Nursery room remodel. (I actually started a small section last June but got sidetracked with Mikaela's room and repainting and decorating our house). I have two layers of wallpaper to remove, (that I have identified so far), and hopefully there are not four layers on the main wall like Mikaela's room remodel!
Most people don't like removing wallpaper, but I have found it somewhat relaxing. Strange, I know! However, when there are more than two layers it does get a little frustrating. I just keep reminding myself that what ever surprises I may find under each wallpaper layer is another part of our adventure in making our house a home.
I have so many fun things I want to do in this nursery. I have been collecting ideas for almost 18 months and I am down to two themes. So far, the room will have the color aqua in it...Will have to wait until we get closer to getting done to see how it turns out. - Ana
Our profile got activated today! We are very excited for the opportunity and privilege to adopt again and can hardly wait for our family of three to be four!

For my birthday Myan, Mikaela and my brother in law, Tremaine, took me out for dinner where I was really spoiled! I started with dessert first - a lemon raspberry cheesecake with chocolate sauce - heaven! And for drinks I had a really thick chocolate milk shake - that's when Mikaela took over testing the whip cream until she made sure it was just right! Before we knew it she was dabbing our noses with the whip cream. Tremaine, was quick with the camera to capture the moment!

Just got back from Moab, Utah. It was our first time there and it was beautiful! We went with our dear friends and their family. By the 2nd day Mikaela was calling our friend's mother, "Grandma", and the kids, "cousins". We are close and have now been "adopted" into their family thanks to our little Mikaela.
