Joe & Bethprofile id #22002
Well- Summer is in full swing! We are truly enjoying the outdoors and are looking forward to spending the 4th of July with Beth's family. The fireworks at the lakefront are a big family affair every year. We also have some friends coming to town that we haven't seen in 2 years and are thrilled to see their 2 daughters who have grown a ton.
We hope you are well.

It is hot and sticky outside so we're curled up inside watching Part 1 of the Top Chef finals and having fun building our facebook profiles. What a crazy thing that you can now keep in touch with your whole network of friends on the internet!
We've attached a photo from our recent trip to Florida. For our anniversary, Beth wanted to swim with the dolphins. What a great day! We got to interact with two female dolphins (Sarah and Samantha). They gave lots of kisses :)
We hope you are well and we continue to keep you in our daily thoughts.
It's Mother's Day. We spent the day with Joe's family at a cookout - a very cold cookout! It was a bittersweet day. His brother and sister-in-law just had their third child - a little girl. It is very difficult to be around a new baby when you have been waiting so long for your own little miracle to come into your lives.
Anyway, it was nice to be around family and share some great food even though it was cold and rainy. Plus, Guinness loved seeing all of his cousins.
We hope that you are well and pray for you every day that you have strength, courage and love all around you.

Well, it's a been a while since we've written. Beth had a really bad case of the flu right after Easter (even though she gets a flu shot every year!) and then Joe headed to Paris for work. Beth was able to meet him there so we could enjoy a little vacation. Even though we've both been there before, we'd never been together. It was really nice to experience the city together. Someday, we hope to share all of the culture and history the world has to offer with our children.
Today, was truly a beautiful Spring day. We took lots of long walks with Guinness and did some yard work. Now we're settling in to watch the Hallmark Hall of Fame on TV. Beth loves these sappy movies (and the Hallmark commercials even more). Joe will likely do some computer work.
Have a wonderful evening. More later.
Happy Easter! We are relaxing after a day spent with Joe's family. There was lots of food so we are totally stuffed. It was a beautifully sunny day and even though it was a bit chilly, you can tell Spring is in the air. It also reminds us that Spring and Easter signify birth (or re-birth). We're hoping and praying that someday soon we'll be able to celebrate the birth of the baby you are bringing to us.
Off to eat some more Reese's Peanut Butter eggs and Peeps!
I'm home tonight with Guinness. Joe is at Polish class. Although he speaks some Polish, he wants to be able to better communicate with his relatives in Poland. He is the godfather to one of his cousins there and we plan to visit again soon.
So, Guinness and I are spending some quality mommy and doggy time - long walks, treats, snuggling on the couch and starting to put together a scrapbook to tell the story of how our baby came to us and about you, his/her birth parents. When you choose us to parent your child, we want to make sure that you are an important part of the child's life. We look forward to the day that we can share their background with them and how you brought him/her to us!

What a weekend! We traveled up to Minnesota with the rest of Beth\'s family to celebrate the engagement of Beth\'s sister. She was surprised by the proposal and even more surprised to see all of us there after she said \"yes\". There is a great deal of excitement as the last of Beth\'s siblings is set to be married.
As I type, we are enjoying Beth\'s favorite event of the whole year - watching the Oscars. Thank goodness Beth makes sure that we see all of the nominated pictures before the big show.
It's been a few days since we've written. We've been busy digging out from all the snow we've gotten in the past week :)
We went up to visit Beth's dad and sister last weekend (her mom was taking care of her brother's kids so he and his wife could enjoy a few days away) and had a nice dinner. Guinness had fun in all the snow - they have even more than we do and their streets literally have mountains on them! We also volunteered on Sunday for the charity that Beth is on the Board of. We painted boards for 6 hours with another couple and their kids.
This weekend we're looking forward to watching our friends' 21 month-old twins while they take some much needed time together. We're looking forward to getting some diaper changing in!
Superbowl Sunday! We're settled in watching the game (well Joe is watching the game, I only stop to watch the commercials) and eating one of our favorite dinners - appetizer dinner. We make all sorts of appetizers and spread them out on the table into a buffet. Tonight, we had shrimp cocktail, spinach dip with fresh veggies, hummus and pita and my homemade creamy corn and chicken soup. We also made Jell-O jigglers in football helmet shapes.
What a wonderful day! We had nearly a foot of snow last night and into today so it was a "snow day" for the entire family. Joe and I both got to stay home today and took Guinness out for a few walks and to play fetch in the back yard. He loves to wade through the snow up to his belly. We made snow angels in the back.
This evening we connected with a few friend that we haven't seen in a while. It's always nice to catch-up. Looking forward to putting some warm PJ's on and cuddling up in bed.
Finally, a break from the bitter cold. The sun was out and the snow was melting. We took the opportunity to take a family (Beth, Joe and the dog) walk through our neighborhood. Beth is paging though a "One Step Ahead" catalog making note of all the baby gear we'll need soon (hopefully). She kept insisting that we were going to get a call today that the our baby had found us. This all started this morning when she was reading the paper and noticed that her horoscope said that today was going to be a "10". Either way, it was a great day that gave us a little glimpse of Spring.
Well, our profile is finally up and active. This is something we've looked forward to for a long time. We hope you get a little glimpse into our lives through these journal entries. It's quite exciting :)
It is bitter cold here today in Chicago, so the three of us (Joe, myself and our dog Guinness) are snuggled up on the couch watching the American Idol Auditions we recorded last night. I made a lasagna and green beans for dinner and we are all full and snug at home.
Although we can't begin to know the path you've traveled so far, we admire your strength and courage for considering an adoption plan for your child. We hope you're feeling the support of family and friends as you make plans. We hope to fulfill your wishes to find a loving family for your baby. We send our love to you today and wish you peace and strength.
We're planning to write about our daily lives so that you can get to know us a bit better. We'd like to get to know you too and hope we can connect by phone or email.
We look forward to sharing our journey's with you.
