Happy Father's Day!!

We had a great weekend in Houston. Matt wanted to take Zach to his first Major League Baseball game--Houston Astros. Ironically, it was Matt's first team he went and saw with his Dad 30 years earlier.
When we walked into the stadium, Zach saw the cow mascot for Chick-fil-A. He wanted to see the mascot so bad. That's all he spoke about for 3 innings until we got this picture. He loved watching the pros swing the bat and run the bases. He wanted a baseball and "real wood" bat before we left. Plastic ones won't do anymore. Reminder: he's 2. :o)
It was a joy to watch Matt and Zach have a father-son bonding moment for his first baseball game. Now wants to take him to see a NFL game...probably in New Orleans this fall.
Our Cherry Tomatoes
We finally got to eat them this week. All 5 of them! :o)
These were better than store bought! Nothing like home grown memories from my childhood. My family (Stacy's) loved to plant gardens and eat from them all year long. Fresh, frozen and bottled. I think my favorite was making and bottling homemade salsa. Everyone of our friends used to raid the pantry after we made a batch (about 3-4 dozen qt jars). We used to run out about 3 months before we could do it again. WE LOVE SALSA!!!

Our first birth mom and her husband just had a new baby today. They have a beautiful baby girl 8 lbs 9 oz 20 in long. We are excited to see her when we go back home in August. We got a picture, but seeing her in person will be so much better!
Happy Birthday Gabby!

Happy Mother's Day!
Today was Mother's Day. It is a day I tried to forget about every year. I can tell you I appreciate motherhood so much more for the past 2 years. I have felt the heartache of longing to have something I couldn't give to our family--children.
It is a day I shared with another mother today, Zach's birth-mom. Zach made her a 3-D hand so she can touch his hand when she wants to. You can even see and feel his finger prints on it. He painted it and chose which one to give her. He made two of them. Each of his mothers got one. She has already hung it up next to her pictures of Zach.
He will be a big birth-brother within the week. His birth mom is having another baby. We are all excited to hold his new birth-sister in August when we see them again. We'll get to see photos when she arrives on her birthday. His birth mom and her husband are so excited to start their family.
We can't wait to greet a new addition to our family. We have wanted to have a few children since we got married. (OK-I wanted 4, he wanted 2, but we will compromise for 3.) We know its in the timing of life. So heres to timing! :o)
From one Mom to another,
Stacy

On base they had a May Fest for all of the military families. We were treated to a carnival. They had dragon jumpers, castle jumpers with slides, carnival games and food. We got to try a beignet (ben-yey; a french deep fried pastry-like a doughnut)for the first time. They were yummy! Zach wanted as many as he could get. We had to stop him around 4 (they were bite sized.)
We had a great weekend. Here is a picture of Zach playing in the sprinklers. He wanted to get in a pool so bad. The pool isn't ready yet for another two weeks, so we did the next best thing....Sprinklers! He really was hesitant in the beginning until Daddy went through it with him a time or two. Then we couldn't get him out of it. He even about missed the movie-Iron Man. Daddy and Zachary had a comic book movie date. They loved Iron Man and can't wait until the next one comes out.

Happy 60th Birthday Dad!!
We are excited about the present we sent out to Zach's Birth Mom. Mother's Day is fast approaching and we love to celebrate it with her. This year we can't because we aren't back home in Nevada. So, we did the next best thing. I can't say what we did for her yet, but she will absolutely love it.
Zach is growing up so fast. I still remember our first night home. He was soooo tiny-we had to find preemie clothes for him. He was only 5 lbs 10 oz when he was born. Now he is almost 30 lbs and 3 feet tall. How they change so quickly.
Here is a picture of Zach with the birthday boy, my Dad, and his youngest cousin. What the life!

This is our first entry to our new website. I just wanted to say, "Thanks." You didn't need to look at our website, but you did. I hope you found the way our family works.
We are very excited to see our family grow. We have felt our child is on its way to our home. Our baby hasn't found us yet.
We like to keep things simple, yet exciting. I guess that is the teacher in me. We are always trying new activities and adventures here.
Here is a picture of Zach with the Easter Bunny. He loved visiting with him.
Enjoy!
