Hey -- we made it to Boston, and beyond! We've never been to New England before. It's a little surreal -- it's like being in the movies! The buildings are naturally old and really close together. The seafood is just fabulous! I think we are going to have to come back here again! This is Katrina, Peter, Jeremy & Grandma. Rob is standing in the street with the camera. They have a spot in the middle of the street for the camera shooter to stand -- this is a very popular tourist spot, but we just had to see Salem!

School starts in less than a month! Ack! Where did the summer go? Weren't they longer? This is Jeremy on the Spiderdome in the backyard. Rob and Peter were cooking some steak & hot dogs on the BBQ. That fulfills one of Peter's Cub Scout requirements -- he almost has his Wolf Badge!

Memorial Day -- woohoo!!! We thought we'd have time to golf once, maybe twice this weekend. Nope -- it's rained and rained and rained. I'm wondering if I should try to make the piano into an ark, or at least a small rowboat!!! We had a few glimpses of sun on Saturday. We decided to go to the movies since it was too wet to golf. Peter and Jeremy wore their brown Indiana Jones-like hats. The good thing is that they used the hats to cover the eyes at the gross part. It was a good movie -- I think the critics are just put out that they don't make any money off of it!!

We recently had a family recital at my sister's house. Rob played the guitar and Peter and I played the piano. Jeremy did an impromptu break-dancing routine while my little brother played the electric guitar. Afterwards the kids played outside on the trampoline and swings. This is Jeremy and his little cousin.

This is Peter's ocean science project. He picked coral. All the kids had to write a report, give an oral presentation & have a display. (I don't remember doing anything like that in 2nd grade!) His presentation was on Cub Scout day & Rob's birthday. It was a big day -- after all that we packed up & left for sunny California. We had six inches of snow at home & it was 95 degrees when we landed in LA! Peter really wanted to wear his snow boots (since we had snow). I had to convince him that it wouldn't snow @ Disneyland. We had a great time visiting w/ family & riding rides. Rob and the boys went to an aquarium on one of my work days -- we thought that would fit in w/ what he's been learning in school. We had a good time, but it's nice to be back home.

We are getting ready to go on a trip to California. We're ready for a little warm weather & some roller coaster rides! The Pinewood Derby was great! Peter's car was 4th. His best friend's car was 2nd! Jeremy's car was fastest in the "open class" -- that's for people who aren't cub scouts like siblings and moms. Rob helped me make a surfboard car before we got married. It's not very fast any more (too much dust in the axles), but it still looks really cool! Peter has already started to design next year's car.
