Had our first snow this week. It snowed 5-7 inches. The students at school loved it. They built huge snow men (taller than me). It is starting to get cold. Halloween wasn't very eventful. Had a few kids come get candy but our town and the nearby town had some activities going on.
Things are going great!
God Bless YOU!!!
Kristy and I went hiking at a local trail. We were able to hike about 2 miles in and then we turned around. We took our dog Sauley, he had a blast. We didn't see any wild animals but the landscape was beautiful. We were a little nervous because of how many bear sightings and attacks have happened this year in Colorado. The trail was pretty grown over so we don't know if it hasn't been traveled much or if the storms have kept it pretty green and growing. The trail follows along a creek and we had to cross it back and forth a couple of times. It was nice for us to just get out and enjoy nature and the time together. Next time I think we are going to take a picnic and enjoy lunch with nature.
We would have had some great pictures but we forgot the camera.
School started 3 weeks ago. I am really loving my job this year. I have never worked with K-4th grade and it is an experience. John has been working hard--a lot of business. Church has been awesome, great things are happening.
My niece, Kelbri, just called and told her Uncle John that she wanted to go to Disneyland and that she would pay. Uncle John told her that she should keep saving her money so we can go.
My sister finally had her baby, two weeks late. I haven't gotten to see her because we had to come back to Colorado since school was starting. I can't wait to see my new niece, hopefully sometime around Christmas.
Speaking of Christmas, I am getting really excited because John's family is coming out to Colorado. This will be the first time we are all in Colorado (except for the wedding). John's sister already has her ticket and the rest of the family will probably drive out. I know Christmas is 4 months away but really it isn't that far.
Just wanted to give you an update on our lives. Thanks for taking the time to read this. GOD BLESS YOU!!!
This is an article from our local newspaper on June 14, 09:
Many couples experience heartache when they discover they cannot have children. This overwhelming news can leave a couple hopeless, but many turn to adoption as an alternative.
Littlest Angels, an adoption agency located in Colorado, specializes in finding children a home and giving couples the chance to be parents. The agency focuses on infant adoptions, regionally and internationally, and from countries including Peru and Ethiopia.
John and Kristy (requested last name to not be used) started the process to adopt a baby over a year ago. The process was quick, but since then one mother pulled out of the adoption about four weeks prior to the due date and they have found one to be a scam for a child from Africa.
“When the phone rings from Littlest Angels the thought of ‘Is it time?' goes through our minds every time,” Kristy said.
Waiting is a time of anxiousness, nerves and being ready all at the same time. Kristy stated the waiting is the slow part.
Littlest Angels puts a lot of effort into making sure the parents are adequate and stable enough to adopt a child. The agency has an open adoption policy, which means the birth parents can get pictures, letters and, in some cases, have contact with the child.
Prior to the home study, background checks are conducted to ensure no past criminal history or chronic illnesses are present for both individuals. Many couples say they feel they are under a microscope, said Littlest Angels Director Sandra Whitton.
“We make sure they are wonderful,” Whitton said.
A home study includes a minimum of three home visits and a visit with each person separately. Along with these visits a packet is to be filled out, fingerprints are taken in conjunction with the background check and three references need to be provided to get the process going.
Littlest Angels is Hague-accredited, which is important and a prominent factor in today's society. For accreditation, many hoops are jumped through to ensure that child trafficking is not taking place. This is an assurance that the children being adopted can legally be adopted and ensure they're not stolen children.
Whitton said the hardest part is the fact that not many children are being put up for adoption and she has adoptive parents who are waiting to give children a good home.
John and Kristy are one of these couples and, for them, the waiting is not very easy. They chose Littlest Angels because it is an agency that is more financially attuned to its budget.
Other agencies they looked at that offer expedited adoptions require $30,000 to $40,000 for the process. Even though the process is a little slower with Littlest Angels, the agency is giving them the chance to adopt, and they are happy about that fact.
Just got back from California. My mom and I traveled there to pick up my niece and sister-in-law. They are going to be with us for a few weeks. On Aug. 1, we are leaving for Idaho to see my sister and her family. We'll be there for a week and then... school starts. Wew, this summer flown by for me.
I am changing from teaching middle school and to teaching elementary. I am very excited about that. John has been working hard and playing the drums for church.
We are continuing to wait for the right baby.
God Bless,
Kristy
I just got back from Mexico, where I was teaching English for the past 2 weeks. I had the pleasure of working in a second grade class that had 42 students (whew, that is a lot of kids in one class). My Spanish wasn't as strong as I wanted it to be but I worked hard on it while I was down there. The Mexican people were very opened and willing to help. I had a great time in Mexico. I don't know if I will have the pleasure of going back but the time I spent down there was very eye opening.
We are praying and waiting for the right baby. May God Bless you in all of your decisions. May He protect you in ALL of your travels.

John and I took his brother and family up to Rifle Falls. It is so beautiful, even though it is not a natural fall but a man made fall. We had a great time hiking underneath the falls. My nephew Derrick, really enjoyed exploring the caves and other crevasses. We had a great time with the family. This year their spring break was off by a week so I didn't really get to hang out with them. Can't wait for next years adventures.
We will see them this Christmas because the Slife's are all coming out to Colorado.

This was the best vacation I have ever been on (3rd vacation ever). My sister her family, little brother his family, my parents and John and I went to California to welcome my brother back from his recent Asian tour. This was the first time that we had all been together since we have been married. Seeing all of my nieces was great (it would have been better if we had a little one too). The girls took the little ones to Build-a-Bear. Each little one made their own little stuffed animal. A day later we went to Disneyland for two days. This was an AWESOME time. We got to get right on the rides because there weren't very many people. My nieces had a blast riding the rides but they really loved the princesses. The longest thing we waited for was to take pictures with the princesses. I really enjoyed the time that I had with my family. I would love to do this again!

Yes, that is my grandma and mom playing the Wii gaming system. Christmas was very nice and relaxing this year. Christmas was very low key because we are going to California in a few weeks. My little brother Matt will be coming back from his Asian tour with the Marines, so we are all going to California to see him and his family. My younger sister is bringing her three girls (and one on the way) too. This will be the first time that we are ALL together in one place. We are going to take the little ones to Disneyland. (I think that I am more excited than they are). It was a great in 2008 and 2009 is going to be the best year ever!

We have the baby crib, a little stroller, the intercom system, clothes, blankies and diapers, diapers and more diapers (not enough but at least it's a start). Everything is just waiting for a little one to crawl on in.
It's almost Christmas and for anyone and everyone who reads this--May GOD BLESS YOU, GUIDE YOU, and PROTECT YOU in all that you do.
SCHOOL started this week!!! I am back at work and enjoying it.
Monday morning my Grandma Province (my dad's mom) and my Aunt Flora rolled into town around 1:30am. I haven't seen my grandma for a few years so this is really nice that they were able to make the long trek from Oklahoma out here to see us.
My sister-in-law, Jade and my niece, Kelbri, are also in town for awhile. They were in California all alone so they decide to come back out here while Matt is in Japan. It is really nice to be able to play with my niece and just have a good time dancin' around. Kelbri is a lover and always wants to give hugs and kisses. (I'll take as much as I can get).
John's brothers are taking a motorcycle trip out here Sept. 1st and his parents are suppose to come out sometime next month too.
This is a busy time of the year but we are loving that we are able to see all of are family.
May God Bless You, Guide You, and Protect You.

John and I had a great time going to Wisconsin to be with his grandparents. This was the first time that I have really had the chance to get to be with his grandparents. We only had 4 days in Wis. but they were very memorable moments for both of us. This was the first time in 6 years that all three of the brothers and there families were together with the grandparents. I can't wait to go back!

June 15th was a great day for us. It was not only Fathers day but it was also my mom's birthday and OUR anniversary. The best thing about the 15th is two of my brothers were in town. My little brother Brandon and his girl friend Cora and my other little brother Matt and his wife Jade and baby Kelbri. This is the last time we will see Matt for 7 months because he is in a Navy cor-man and is being shipped out with the Marines to go to Japan. We don't see Brandon much but it is great time when we do. (You may notice the ugly black brace on my leg. I had surgery and my knee is finally in working order.)
We had a nice BBQ, some yummy water melon (Kelbri looovvved the water melon), and some German Choc. cake (my mom and John's favorite dessert).
Thank you for taking the time to view our family. Even if we are not the right family for you and your baby, we hope and pray that you will find the best family for you guys.
