Wayne & Gingerprofile id #22437

Jessica made a great little friend at the beach today. They kicked the beach ball, ran in the waves and built sand castles. She can't wait to be a big sister.

Jessica has been enjoying our week at the beach. Today she spent her time jumping into the pool and floating in the lazy river.

We just started our beach vacation this week. Tonight we enjoyed our first evening by hanging out and letting Jessica run around in the surf.

Wayne was out of town today for work so Ginger and Jessica enjoyed a special lunch out followed by a trip to a playground. Jessica loved all the tubes and slides. She would have stayed there all day if we would have let her.

This is what we woke up to this morning. Jessica and Chloe, our cat, snuggling. Jessica loves our cat and obviously our cat loves her as well. Although Chloe is older (15 years old) she is very tolerant of Jessica and loves all the attention that she gets from her.

We took Wayne's family today to the Westin Peachtree Plaza hotel in downtown Atlanta. It is 73 stories high and has a slowly revolving restaurant and observation deck at the top. At the top we could see all of downtown in 360 degrees. We live approximately 25-30 miles NE of downtown, but are still close enough to enjoy the downtown amenities like shopping, the zoo, pro sporting events, an aquarium, museums, etc. This is a picture of Ginger at the top.

We had a great weekend. One of Wayne's sisters visited from California with our niece. Wayne's parents and one of his other sisters came for a visit as well. Jessica loved playing with her cousin Lissa. Here they are snuggling and laughing.

Today we tried out the new Crayola Sidewalk Paint that we bought. Ginger and Jessica had a great time painting fish, faces, etc. Jessica loved mixing the paints and making new colors.

Lately we have been working on a lot of projects around the house. We moved into our house 3 years ago and have always disliked our bonus room wallpaper. We decided to primer and paint over it. We are total do-it-yourselfers when we have time and have done many projects at this house and our last house including hanging drywall. We have already painted the room that will be our new nursery and soon Ginger will start painting a mural on the wall.

Today was really fun. We celebrated the 4th of July by attending Gwinnett Glows - a local celebration in our county. They had tons of kids activities including pony rides, train rides, carnival rides, face painting and a petting zoo. There was also live music, street performers and demonstrations and of course fireworks. This was the first time Jessica really went to a big fireworks display and she thought it was the greatest thing ever (besides the pony ride of course!).

This weekend we went to North Carolina to spend time with some of Wayne's family. Jessica got to play with her cousins Hailey, Tyler and Matthew and they all had a great time even though they range in age from 11 to 2 1/2 . We went to the beach, grilled out, and Wayne's sister set up some pools in the back yard for the kids to play with. This is a picture of Tyler and Jessica trying to keep another family member's new puppy out of the pool.

We traveled to Mississippi this weekend to visit with Ginger's Grandmother and Uncle (who actually live in Arkansas). Ginger's grandmother doesn't travel much so this was the first time that Jessica got to meet her Great Grandmother, MeMe. We had a great time visiting and catching up. Ginger's parents were there as well so it was like a mini family reunion.

We had a great day today. I took Jessica shopping at a local mall and then changed her into her bathing suit to run through the fountain they have there for kids to play in. She had a blast.

We had a great weekend not only celebrating Father's Day, but also Ginger's Mom's birthday. We cooked out, ate cake and just relaxed. Jessica's gift to Wayne was two pictures of her dressed up in his clothes (see previous journal entry).

Today Ginger had Jessica help her make a cake. Ginger's Mom (Nana) happens to have a birthday on the same day as Father's day this year. Jessica loved being a big girl and getting to help add the ingredients.

We are getting geared up for Father's Day here. I took some pictures of Jessica in Wayne's clothes to give him as a present from her. She loved wearing his big shirt and tie!

Today we went swimming at the neighborhood pool for the first time this year. We all had a great time and it was very refreshing since it has been extra hot here lately (in the 90's).

Today we took Jessica to the Yellow River Game Ranch. It is an animal preserve where you can feed deer, rabbits, chickens, ducks, goats, donkeys, sheep, etc. She LOVED it. She especially liked petting the rabbits and feeding carrots to the deer.

We had a great Memorial Day weekend. Wayne's parents came for a visit and we relaxed on the deck, had a cook out, kicked the soccer ball around and taught Jessica to hit off of a tee.

We went on a picnic today with Ginger's family to Stone Mountain park. It was really nice and the weather was beautiful. We even found a great picnic table right by the water that surrounds the lake. Jessica got to feed the ducks and the Canadian geese. Then we went to see the train that travels around the mountain. If it had not been so late in the day we would have all gone for a ride.

We are very excited to get our profile up and running. We can't wait to hear from you. Thank you for taking the time to find out a little bit about our family.
