Owies are serious business for little kids. And getting the proper amount of sympathy is very important. Good thing Granddad understands these things, and gave her owie the attention it needed. :)

My six year old son wants to know what is taking so long. I tried to explain, but he came back with, "Can't they tell that I will be just the greatest big brother?" Later he added, "If they are not sure, they should ask Katie (his little sister). She'll tell them. I am an AWESOME brother."

See, THIS is why I will never drive my sister's car again. I drive for a little while, to let her husband get a little much-needed rest, and what happens? A flat tire! So much for his rest. The car load of children - all cousins - thought it was a pretty fun adventure. All in all it was a great day. We met our brother with his kids out in the desert, and went hiking and exploring. We found a neat cave (see the picture in the photo album), really cool rocks, and even caught a horned toad. Uncle Ric is always coming up with someplace we need to go explore. The kids all love the adventure. And the adults... Well, some of us love the adventure, and all of us love the memories the cousins are making together.

Well, Katie finally putting her foot down. (Or her body down... on Daniel) He was ready to go to school, and she was determined to put a stop to it. She tackled him and announced that now he had to stay home and play with her!
