From Angela's Mom -

Angela and Torben will be absolutely fantastic parents. They have wanted to be parents and start their family for a long time. They are both very family oriented and having a child has always been a top priority and desire. They have prepared in every way possible to give their child a happy, balanced life with many opportunities to blossom. Torben is a successful lawyer and can always provide well for his family. Angela is educated, creative, and artistic and enjoys every facet of keeping a clean, lovely, and healthy home.

They both love children and have been loving and supporting to their own siblings and neices and nephews. They are each the oldest child in their families and understand children. They have been a great help in setting high standards and serving and nurturing their families. They have also worked tirelessly as leaders serving children and youth in their church callings.

The really beautiful thing about them is their capacity to love and care for each other and others. This is what will make them great parents. They are happy and work hard and enjoy and just stand out with their talents and great efforts. Whatever they do, they do it as a team, put their all into it, have fun with it, and it always turns out wonderful. They have so much to give and have the strength and ability to love, nurture, protect, and provide for a child in an environment of warmth and love.

They are both beautiful inside and outside and I have always been proud and actually in awe of them. They are extremely good to me. Being their mother is the greatest blessing of my life.

From Angela's sister Melinda -

Angela has always been so wonderful and compassionate with children and I think I can speak genuinely about this being her younger sister. She always was making games for us to play and letting us dress up in her cool cute clothes and taking our pictures, which was a lot of work when you are the oldest of seven kids. She was just born so patient and sensitive. Even when she went away to college she would let us come stay the weekend with her in her apartment and take us around campus and stay up all night talking and really making us feel so important to her. She was never too busy to make time for me and she still does to this day. She is one of my very best friends.

She has always been someone that we all can go to for a shoulder to cry on or a good laugh or to just be understood and heard out. She will make the most amazing mother. It is few and far between that you find someone like Angela. She has worked with the youth of our church for a lot of years as both a counselor and president of the young womens program. The girls and women have all loved her dearly. She is the type that goes above and way beyond her duties. She will put so much time and energy into the sometimes thankless activities and programs they have because she puts the girls interest above her own, always. That is just who she is. She wouldn't know how to do things any differently. She will absolutely be amazing to watch as a mother.

Angela and Torben are an amazing couple. Torben is so patient and caring. He also is hilarious! He makes us laugh and is so fun to play games with, except for the fact that he almost always wins. He is very insightful and a great person to go to for advice. He is so driven and very smart, that is how he has achieved the success in his career. I respect him so much. I really have grown to love him like a brother.And a lot of that is for how he well he treats my sister. He will be such a wonderful father. It isn't easy to find two people so well rounded and prepared as they both are.

What to say about Angela and Torben? We are so blessed to even know them! They bring so much love and support to all they know. I am Angela’s little sister, I am right after her in our family. So I grew up right around her and she was and is my best friend. Growing up Angela was the best big sister. When a neighborhood bully pushed me off a swing, she stood up for me and got that swing back for me! She would come up with the most creative and fun things to play. We didn’t watch too much TV we were always playing because she made it so fun. She was my “teacher”. We played school all the time and she taught me everything she knew. When I went to kindergarten my teacher asked my mom what preschool I had been to because I was so ahead. My mom told her I hadn’t been to any preschool that my sister and I had been playing school that summer! She always took such good care of her Strawberry Shortcakes and all her toys. I remember putting on a play for our parents at night to the song “When I grow up I want to be a mother.” We had our dolls and Angela choreographed a dance to do. That is why I tell you a little about her as a child; because that has been her dream her whole life to be a mother. And as protective, creative, fun, tender as she was to me her baby sister she would be the same for any child.

I have four children and they love Aunt Bambala (that is the nickname they gave her) and Uncle Torben so much. They always remember my kids’ birthdays and send them cards in the mail. My kids look forward to those cards like nothing else. Another thing they do that is not common is they talk and listen to kids. I mean really talk and listen; they make them feel important and interesting. So few people treat children like they are more than just children, but they make the kids feel like they are special and have great worth no matter the size or age.

At my younger sisters wedding reception a year ago I saw Torben making sure that all my kids got bubbles to blow and then teaching the little ones how to blow and making them all laugh with funny faces. I think for people not having had kids yet they are unique in the way they love and understand children already.

I am so excited for them to become parents. They will love and cherish their children as only they can do! I don’t know of anyone who is more ready, willing, and able to raise and love some of God’s choice spirits. Any child will be so blessed to have them as parents. I couldn’t love them more myself and I thank them for teaching me what is means to see God’s hand in all things. We at our home our huge Angela and Torben fans and hopefully you are able to see in just a few words why.

Angela is my older sister and I am so excited to give you an idea of what an amazing mother she would be. As a little girl Angela was so creative and imaginative, she would come up with the most amazing elaborate games to play that would keep us entertained for days. I am positive she will have her own children playing and learning things in the most creative ways. She is very artistic and crafty she paints and scrapbooks and designs. She used to help me with school projects and asking boys to dances I would beg her for help because she made it fun and cool. She will make school projects fun for her children and craft time would be amazing. She is sensitive and kind she was the one that took me to buy my first makeup and showed me how to use it. She surprised me with Les Miserables Broadway tickets on my birthday and we cried the whole time together. She has one of the biggest hearts. She is a great listener and loves to talk. She’ll listen to me talking for hours and helps me figure out what the real problems are. Our mother is like this and it has been an amazing thing to have in a mother. She’s a great role model even still now that we are adults. I admire her strength and her passion for life and love for family. She pays attention to you even though you didn’t notice and she is there for you when you fall. She is loyal and loving sister, whom I love with all my heart. She is an amazing person whom I know wants with all her heart to be a mother and raise a family. I know she will be a loving, caring, creative, strong, supportive mother and she will try every day to make her child feel special and loved.

From Torben's Parents -

Torben and Angela have planned and prepared for a family since their marriage. Angela has created a wonderful collection of children’s books to share with their children. Their talents and abilities are many. The future children in their lives will have excellent models to follow.

We feel their greatest strength is their deep love and devotion to each other. They will bring this love and devotion to their children.

From our Brother in Law Kyle -

I have known Torben and Angela Welch for over 10 years and have nothing but respect for them. They have been the best to my family and are great with my four children. They remember each child’s birthday and send them cards every year. They are gentle, loving and I feel 100% at ease when my kids are in their hands.

Torben and Angela are not only loved by my children, they are down to earth individuals with an excellent value system. They are committed to serving the people they love. She served with the young women and they love her (great babysitters) and she loves them. What a great mother she will make!

Torben has also worked tirelessly to serve others. He is devoted to his wife and is completely honest and ethical in all that he does. His devotion to Angela comes before anything else in life. He is level headed and I’ve never seen him out of control. What a great father he will be!

The children that come into the Welch home will be eternally blessed with goodly parents.
